See I feel like letting him flirt with random girls is a lot worse than having him go off with an employee (assuming it was consensual and the power imbalance didn’t affect it)

The power imbalance between fans and the influencer seem a lot worse to me and even if they’re not a fan, offering them tickets to come and see you on tour or whatever adds that power imbalance back. If the guys knew and didn’t do anything about it they were enabling that behaviour too
Yeah, they were definitely enabling him. It's very ducked up that the other guys let that happen, who knows how long it's been going on.

But there was also definitely a huge power imbalance between Ned and Alex (the employee). He is rich, famous and her boss, and that will always affect their relationship even if she is a consenting adult. (But I'm not defending her actions, she's also at fault here!)

Oh he is ducked from a legal pov. What are they going to do with all the merchandise etc too. They might have to buy him out

Least they can just change to the Tri Guys lol
I would assume they’ll either buy him out or agree a settlement. Or they’ll let him be a silent partner. It depends- their contract may have provided for what happens if one of the four members brings the company into disrepute. It may be that he’s forced to sell for the amount he put in or vice versa.
Ifff the employee makes any allegations (no reason to think she would at this stage) then it’s not actually Ned whose ducked it’s the LLC itself. Again, they might settle but post metoo that’s frowned upon. If Ned’s already out if the company then he’s pretty much home and dry, as we have no reason to think anything criminal’s happened, so it’s just employment law issues.

merch wise. Yeah they’re screwed. But again if they have good contracts - could be that he’s liable for their losses there.

I do feel terrible for the guys. It must be so hard to build something up as a team and for it to end in this way. Even if it’s fairly amicable it’s still so serious and so sad.

Yeah 100%, this story involves a number of innocent people, including two young children. We don’t need your “hot takes” at this moment.
yep - like look at these:

there’s just no need. i know we all love a gossip but do it in private.

i feel that, of all of them, eugene was always destined to do the “best” outside of their brand though. i wonder if he takes the chance to breakout on his own now!

Maybe they all have poor opinions of all the Try Guys so they feel ok to comment 🤷🏼‍♀️

If they liked even one of the guys and they are making comments like that which will effect their branding that it's wrong IMO. But if they are all secretly arseholes then I guess those who used to work with them are happy the "secrets out".

I don’t disagree with the power imbalance existing in that, I just think there’s a possibility that a lot of people are overstating the extent of it as we are acting based on very surface level details (ages, positions) rather than how the relationship developed and the like - we don’t really know anything at all

It has been interesting to see some of the Reddit comments paint her as a victim in all of this because of the power imbalance too

I’ve seen some say that Ned has been a bit of a walking red flag for a while now and pointing to things he has said in podcasts especially. I don’t follow them but I get the sense that the podcasts were sort of unfiltered for him. As an example, he told a woman that her biological clock was ticking and she was in her mid-20s (or maybe a bit older) and then apologised the next episode.

It also seems that they’ve been somewhat careless in showing their relationship for a bit now. I’ve seen some references in the comments to their weird exchanges and flirtation or something

I’d normally attach proof for ease but I didn’t think of this 😭 my fyp is full of their videos now though

Hmm looks like Neds infidelity has been going on for longer than we thought. It does add fuel to the open relationship theory. Maybe due to the amount of investment and complex business stakeholdership both parties (Ned & Ariel) have with the try guys, they carried on the charade? Now that there’s public screenshots it’s unravelled very quickly and hence the sudden announcements. Coz Neds been edited out since early sep so something has been on the back burner for a while.

Neds lost 100k followers on insta

I personally don't think Ariel knew.
I also feel like this is an affair situation, I mean C'mon out in public comfortable like that? Been happening a while. BUT the guys may have known he flirts or figured he was doing something dodgy and when they found out it was an employee lost their collective tit.
Also he posted this in August makes my heart break for Ariel.

Ariel is beautiful, I hope she hasn't let that wonky nosed kermit-the-frog voiced sex pest destroy her confidence.

Everyone’s unfollowed Ned, except Ariel, but everyone is still following Alex, including Ariel? What’s the real story here?

Well she could sue the company

She better leave him

Most confusing thing is how did he even get either of them???

I find it interesting these guys weren't gonna do anything about it until it affected the company/bottom line as they supposedly knew he was a creeper long before. Typical. UGH.

I really feel so much for Ariel and their little boys. She seems like a really neat person and a good mom.

Maybe Ariel is staying off socials cause she doesn't want to be constantly reminded of this.. so going through and unfollowing everyone is probably the last thing on her mind.

This claims they were in a relationship for a year?! That makes it even worse. Jfc poor Ariel 😔
To be fair, it had to have been going on for a while for the two to do it so publicly. Isn't part of the whole cheating thing the fear/excitment of being caught? Presumably it gets boring if people around you know but don't say anything

Really disappointed if the guys knew and didn't say anything about it though

what could the other guys have done though before it became something that impacted the business. Knowing your business partner is a creep who is likely cheating on his wife is something you can ( and hopefully they did ) condemn on a friend basis but not something you could use as a reason to fire someone . It only becomes a workplace issue when Ned brought it to the workplace by being with Alex.
And getting caught

I’m not a cheating is 100% game over person, but who could forgive someone cheating on you for a year if that’s true.

Cheating for such a long time is really bad. It's clearly more than just sex. How there could be any way forward for Ariel and Ned together after this, I don't know.
