You keep saying this, and it’s technically accurate, but it totally ignores historical context, which is that they made their fortunes by using the labour of others. They are multi-generational beneficiaries of the work of others, of their own citizens, who even now are not allowed to buy the land they tend. They benefit from centuries of taxation laws that excluded them, of killing people to confiscate property, and by petitioning parliament to excuse them from environmental and employment laws. Ignoring this context is just pretending that they’re basically self-sufficient, which is laughably untrue.
