Just saw my neighbor clipping his nails in his car massive ick 🤢
I used to work with someone who cut his nails at his desk 🤮

Also spotted a woman cutting her nails in Wetherspoons 🤮🤮🤮

I didn’t realise this was an issue for me until I read this. I always have a sneaking suspicion about couples like this that one, or both of them are majorly depressive once they get indoors.
Do you mean controlling?

I think I mentioned this before but I worked in a non profit and one of the guys did his toenails at his desk in an open plan office.
I left soon after.

This seems to be a regional thing, I noticed it when I moved to the north west. In Birmingham, we either say pop (which includes all fizzy), or squash for the watered-down stuff.
Squash is a very very old term, grew up with the term but doesn't work in this ducked up society.

Eh? Sorry, I don’t quite get your reference there, it’s just a name for concentrated fruit juice?

I’m so confused what’s the other meaning of squash other than
1. Diluted juice
2. The physical action
3. The sport

I don’t know of any more modern meaning, but then I’m probably out of touch!
According to the urban dictionary it's slang for oral sex. Quite what you'd 'squash' while doing that I have no idea, unless your technique is a bit off 👍

I hope it’s still okay to say pop, or fizzy pop. It’s such a hazard these days, could mean drugs or porn, both at the same time probably.

(This reminds me very much of Brass Eye and the cake episodes!)

Pop, fizzy pop is okay, unless @Facehugger knows otherwise.

I used to manage a team that covered a 24/7 shift pattern so the team that worked nights shared desks with those who worked days. One of the MANY complaints and subsequent investigations I had to do involved piles of nail clippings left on the desks/keyboards. But they were toenail clippings. 🤢 Every week someone would sprinkle their toenail clippings on a random desk. It took me 3 weeks to catch the culprit. People are grim.

Very unnecessary.

edit. I mean loud sneezes are unnecessary, not that they give you the ick haha.
I've got to be honest, I've no idea how they're going to come out, each time it's a surprise to me as it is to anyone else. Sometimes they come out all cute and dainty, others pop out like screamers; some I even manage to swallow and nothing comes out 🤷‍♀️ It's a mystery?

I’m now middle aged and married but another thread reminded me of a previous ick from my younger, carefree years.

Staged music for sex - when I was 19 I briefly dated a really nice guy but every single time we ended up in his bedroom he’d put on U2 - The Joshua Tree (which is an ick in itself). 😩 He’d start with kissing on track 1, heavy petting on track 2 and intercourse on track 3. I entered into a competition with myself to speed it up so I didn’t have sex to Bono singing With or Without You. I ended the relationship after a heavy night out where he was still thrusting away during Running to Stand Still (track 5). I’d never been a fan of U2.

I always assumed this was a one off, until I got divorced at 37 and started dating again. Turns out I was wrong. Different country, different man, different album (Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago) but always sex on Skinny Love (track 3). I dumped him after the 3rd offence.
