Interesting conversation between Philip and Stef tonight. Philip: "WE should get a dog Steph" (Note he meant WE not YOU or LaLande should have a dog) Stephanie: "No. I go away too often." (Note she meant I cannot have a dog as I go away too often. Not WE cannot have a dog as we go away too often - signalling no long term view of relationship and he being at LaLande or viewing him as a partner. So, he may have his feet under the table and his leg over Steph but he is not a permanent fixture in her vision.
I picked up on that too. Sooner or later she will get sick of his neediness and lack of knowledge. She has been around the block for 20 more years than he has. My husband is 13_years older than I am and having no shared life experiences BEFORE we met is not a good thing. The first time my husband mentioned Manford Man...I said "Who"?? Lol.
I also think, that although Phyllis has a mommy comp!ex, he MAY get sick of her selfishness and " wearing the pants" ( although not always literally ha ha) in the relationship. But then again he IS a paid escort so he may put up with it to stay "in the fashion to which he bas become accustomed". Free loading is an easy life, you know?

Im still 100% sure that Philip is not into women.
I think he goes which ever way the wind blows.

If Snorty wanted to film the “tea room” (which was pretty) then why did he film his face do much? Just like woodland watch he features himself not animals. He continues to take over, like his desk is now in SJ’s room. I agree today less Snorts heard but bad filming, so many shots not in focus. This dude has got to go!

That's all just pretend because he has no real interest, hobbies or personality.

The cutlery and woodland animals obsession is just another show preformed at lalande
The fact that he was in his hometown and we didn't get a glimpse of his collection of cutlery says a lot. That was a great opportunity to show off to his fans.

There are some great pix of the interior at Sailhant -- a fortified farm in a slightly grander setting than Lalande -- as recently renovated by the preservation architect who now owns it. The latest style furniture he's got is Louis XIII (aside from modern hand-carved neo-Gothic), which is very different from Louis Farouk. He's worked hard to get local Auvergne antiques, including 19th c bath fixtures (dazzling copper tub etc) and medieval chapel adornments.
I can't imagine an establishment further from the badly conceived, pompously, decadently, and counterfeitly (?) decorated Lalande.
What I like about the owner's account is that it's in English; has tons of pix and plans, all secrets uncovered by the professional researcher and architectural archaeologist he hired to get aaaaaalllllll the deets; deals with restorers' dilemmas such as his credo "a facsimile (of, say, "accurate" 13th c resto) is worse than the ruin".
For those of us who came to CD for the resto of a pastoral place, and stayed for the scam, this guy delivers what I was looking for in watching SJ.
I wonder, @Dippy Hippy, if these restored interiors ring a bell with you?

Isn't there a Clara story about how her friends left their beloved dog in her charge and she in turn left Lalande with the dog alone in it for days?
Yes there is. Except my friends made sure somebody stepped in to take care of their dog, I believe it was Dana who took over after Miss Emptyhead left with the workaway candy boyfriend of that time to frollic around.

Im still 100% sure that Philip is not into women.
Well, you must then also be 100% sure SJ is not a woman?

Or at least do a drive by of the theatre companies or stages where he has preformed.
He is as much of a fraud as she is. The only real difference between the two is that he is totally dependent on her money and lifestyle. Snorty might not realise it, but he should be working on his own theatre carreer at his age, so that he can build an independent life for himself. She is literally robbing him of that chance by keeping him on that tight leash. She never cared much for a performing carreer herself (too lazy to practice singing) but I doubt he will get a second chance by the time she’s bored with him. That day will come and it will leave him empty handed.

They are more ornate then the manor I used to know, which was more of a farmhouse. I haven't got any photos and I haven't been back to the estate for so many years, but I found stock photos of a nearby Manor (10 miles from the one I knew) which is very similar inside and is now a museum. French style would be very different I'm sure. I think we can all agree that Stephanie is creating her vision of a castle, but it isn't accurate as the original chateau may not have had expensive Fortuny fabrics and Murano chandeliers. It's all a bit fake if it was a farmhouse.

This is why I found Tattle! How two nurses, one of which grew up with little means, be able to amass so much wealth seemingly overnight. And Daddy couldn’t have work round the clock and produced all that garbage art and take his little Princess auction shopping every five minutes. I think a lot of their initial antiques came from the Granny Farm and were quickly and conveniently whisked away to France. How one couple can go from owning no properties to a couple of nursing homes, a house in the UK, a house in SA, two flats in London and half a chateau is just unbelievable.
. You are so right Pno. Nursing is not a highly paid profession in the UK, (I used to work for the NHS,), so there must have been some inherited money for them to even afford to buy a large property like their first nursing home. I think both or one of them inherited from a grandparent/parent, and were very clever with investments and the property market, selling at the right time, buying at the right time. I have a cousin, who was a nurse, and she bought derelict properties and renovated them, and sold them on. Her husband was a builder, and they went into partnership with two more of my cousins who were also builders. They renovated derelict mansions, lived in them then sold them. All did well. Im not sure about the elderly abuse. It's quite an accusation and there doesn't seem to be any evidence. Private homes are regulated and inspected in the UK, I used to know a care home inspector. It would have made the papers if there had been any abuse even all those years ago. Relatives would have become suspicious of wills being signed over to the couple. Something would have come out. Not defending the Jarvises particularly, but very difficult to prove fraud after so many years. They could have easily made money through property development at the time they bought their first nursing home.

What's going on? ... Another inner goddess seminar? 🤔
So fed up of the "tasteful" steamy shots. So vain, so "look at me I'm so gorgeous" ! . Please stop it Lalanders! And no I'm not jealous, I'm just not into naked women, as I'm sure many of your granny gangsta fans aren't.
Are you trying to attract more male fans? You'll end up losing female fans. I've a friend who does burlesque claiming she does it to celebrate her femininity and she does it for herself, "to feel beautiful" My husband pointed out, as she performs on stage and gets money for it, she's just a "posh stripper". Please stop stripping and sharing the photos ladies, it makes you all look cheap. Put it away, we don't want to see it.

I saw that in a previous thread some time back, but it was the people who bought it from them who were carrying out the abuse and the Jarvises were never mentioned. It doesn't necessarily follow that the Jarvises were running an abusive set up because the people who came after them were. We sold an excellent catering business on to some people who then ran it badly and were closed down by environmental health. It was not our fault, the bad management was all down to them. They will have given a few people food poisoning I'm sure, but we always got the top marks for hygiene inspections, so I have no guilt. They seemed enthusiastic and competent, both trained chefs. Were we responsible for their transgressions?

More juicy comments on the latest CD vlog about dislikes and" the other nasty site".

When this time, ti's our friend the Duchess of Couteau who tries to protect her princess in distress (from South Africa or Canada this time ?)

It's interesting to note that Real Aiglon, Duchess of Couteau and the others are always silent at the same time and always together at the same time to defend the honour of their Lady in Chief.

Regarding the comments about the likes and dislikes (thumb up/ down) everyone watching has different interests. If someone gives a thumbs down then maybe the vlog contents aren’t of interest to them. Why say that the person is a troll? . It’s just positive and negative feedback. I think sometimes little things are built up and blown out of proportion and a little bit of perspective is needed.

You missed the point. Of course people are entitled to dislike. The comments were about early dislikes, given even hours before the video premiered. And no, giving an early like is not the same thing : it is showing support to the channel and anticipation for the video. An early and intentional dislike on the other hand, is just nasty.

@The Duchess of Couteau I don’t think I did , I think that some people aren’t interested in the contents of some video (another chateau, in another country, cups, plates, buildings and gardens) They watch for la laude and this isn’t it. (Just putting another perspective out there, I don’t know the full storey or what has been said or seen (so I’m not having a go) , but I think if someone doesn’t like a video then there is no harm in clicking thumbs down (however I would watch it first , but that’s me, we are all different) At the end of the day does it really matter, it’s a poll isn’t it?

@Loulou Spencer You may have a point about the subject matter of the video. To be fair, it had crossed my mind that maybe the topic of the video alone (as you say, not Lalande) may have been disliked by some even before the video had started...! But if it’s a poll, it is overwhelmingly won by Stephanie each and every time anyway!

Admire how they managed to attack this (otherwise "normal" and articulate poster) and shot her down .

Obviously, Lalande and Co enjoy these "trolls" and certainly know them.

Even more disgusting when you see them playing the nice innocent people having a lovely and honest life in their YT channel.

@Sandi Foster Of course you’re free to give a thumb up or a thumb down or no thumb at all after you’ve seen the video (or part of it). You can also show your appreciation for the channel and you anticipation for the video with an early thumb up, but an early and intentional thumb down is a different thing altogether. @The Duchess of Couteau do you truly know why anyone gives a thumbs down? I have often seen thumbs up and down for various channels before the start, not just this one. Its nothing new. Perhaps there could be a new phrase for that - Thumbs down shaming!!! With all the love and support the Chateau receives I doubt Stephanie is upset over a few thumbs down so I guess I just dont understand why people get so twisted over this. Anyway, as I have said, we shall have to agree to disagree on this...however its a good thing that we and so many others enjoy the channel.

There are millions of rich people making a living out of people trafficking, drug trafficking, child exploitation, prostitution, fraud, theft, porn. They live in beautiful houses, eat in the best restaurants, stay in the best hotels, have the most expensive jewellery and drive the best cars, and see a great deal of the world. I despise and grudge those people their wealth, but not Stephanie.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but we shall agree to disagree.
