So I mentioned a while ago that my cat died. I had two and before she died me and the kids were talking about how we wanted a little ginger kitten. We were ready to have three cats. Then my cat died and we didn’t really think about it. My cat that’s been left behind is heartbroken still (understandably) they had been together awhile. The person who I got my two off has some kittens who were ready to go, last week. She’s offered me…..a ginger one. There’s quite a few “signs” pointing to this cat, if you will. However I worry about my other cat. Will she hate having a kitten around? Will it help her maybe? My cat is three so I am not sure how she will be with a small and tiny kitten around.

My friend had a cat an recently got a kitten, they got on great together but she's now gotten another kitten an the first cat seems to hate this one so not sure why that's the case that it seemed to take to the first one an now it won't with this one

Would the person be willing to let you have a hours "trial" at your home with the kitten, bring it over an you could introduce your cat to it an give it a hour to see what will happen? Am not sure how introducing cats work as I've never had them but whenever I've had to introduce new pets to the ones I have I completely wash down the room am going to introduce them in so I get rid of scents an let them meet one another on "neutral" grounds an either they take to one another or they don't within the hour

It's good you've got two options too, in case one does end up as no formal offer.

Just sit tight and it'll work out. I'd keep it secret from anyone at work too until you need to give your notice.

Yes do, calls are recorded so if you requested it to be removed and they still continued to charge they should refund you for that time.

Is been years now they'd owe me a fortune. I'll have to make a point of speaking to them though as it really winds me up.

I was at the Asda, BUT this is my issue. Surely if I’ve hit a car my car would have damage on it? So I’m denying everything to my insurance.

can anyone help with how long these things take to resolve?

My husband drove into the back of a Porsche and his van was a write-off and the Porsche had the tiniest mark on the bumper ours was undrivable .. this was in the 70s

Did you tell your insurer the whole story? that you hit something and believe it to be a post? Or did you just say No I wasnt at that place.. Seems odd they would say not to admit to anything ( normally they only say that at the site of a accident don't admit anything) unless the other person has claimed a number of times and they know of them?

Just made a mistake in work - nothing major and it was easily fixed. I work hard and take pride in my work and I like my job. My boss looked disappointed in me.

Oh yes that is gorgeous I would definitely wear that out. New look & h&m are my go to shops, I got 3 peplum items from new look they look great.
I struggle I suppose cause I want to follow the trends but sometimes they just don't work.
What do you recommend trouser wise, I am SUPER casual and have sensory issues so don't like jeans or tight waistbands hence the leggings.

P.s edit to add my mum also suggested trying a maternity range as I'm pretty slender else where just my stomach and bum take all the weight.

Difficult for me on trousers, I live in skinny jeans. But what about a lose fit elasticated waist black trouser, or a leather look legging or even a jegging.

Do you prefer your cat to be kept to the garden? An is your garden fenced?

I don't have cats, but I do have guinea pigs an a new rabbit, I also have a ton of wild birds come into the garden so to keep them all safe I have those spikes for the top of the fence, you can get like rubber ones, then along the bottom it's all mesh fence since there's a gap between my fence an the ground, keeps my neighbours cat from getting into the garden

Also you might not know this, but if your cat ever needs veterinary treatment an it's because the neighbours cat has come in, then you are entitled to have the neighbour pay because technically it was trespassing on your property, I know of people who's cats an dogs have went onto another's property an hurt their animal be told they need to pay the vet bill that their animal has caused

My cat likes sun bathing and sitting in the flower pots so i’d want her to continue that. We still get wood pigeons and other wild birds that come daily but she doesn’t bother the pigeons. Super rarely foxes.

There’s no fencing on either sides. Just walls which are theirs. The spikes however would have been a good idea otherwise. We’re also just keeping a much closer eye on her. We let her out for a bit whilst someone was downstairs then brought her back in.

Anyone know if theres places to store luggage in London? I'll be down mid week, we get there around lunch time an the hotel I believe seems fine at taking the luggage till check in an we get our room, however check out is 11am an that's them done with us which I obviously expect, we won't be getting the train home till around 7pm or 8pm, I don't really want to be going round London with my suitcase for that long plus honestly it's just going get in the way

Its going be kings Cross we leave from so preferably I'd like somwhere close or the station to store it

almost all the major stations in london have left luggage options - kings cross certainly does because i used it a few years back! if the hotel won’t let you leave your luggage there then i’d just pop over to the station and book it in

This is dumb, but how do you carry your smartphone in your purse without cracking the screen protector to bits??

I can't find a phone case like the old PDA cases that had hard plastic flip lids to protect the screen. The only cases with anything over the screen are those big wallet cases that are too hard to hold.

Does everyone else know something I don't, or is it normal to have to replace your screen protector every few months?

It would probably be worth getting a bag with compartments in it to keep it separated, other than that I have seen some people use a old cut sock to wrap it up in to give it a bit more protection, usually screen protectors would be enough, but if its being hit that hard inside your bag then it would maybe be safer just holding it

Bit bizarre but can anyone recommend any shops that sell good quality bathers (for pool swimming as exercise not holiday)? I have had 2 from sports direct and they start to bobble really quickly. I don’t mind spending money as long as it’ll last.

I swim 3 times a week and rate Matalan and sainsburys swim wear.

Has anyone in SH had their windows changed? I'm due to have mine done ( will probably be done on the coldest snowiest day ) Do they do all the work from the inside? Only outside my bedroom window (bungalow) I have a ruddy great pond.
Would like to know if I should see about getting some strong boards or something, but with the price of wood right now I would rather not

It's an Apple tree, the one that's close to my house

as reassurance, apple trees don’t have invasive/destructive root systems so you should be fine with it being close to your house. the roots don’t grow much further than the top of the tree (compared to something like an oak).

a friend of mine recently bought a house with a lovely apple tree in the garden and that’s what the surveyor told her anyway! i think it’s still not ideal, but they won’t do anywhere near the level of potential issues that more far reaching roots will. so don’t worry

I had for some time phone just with screen protector never knew this thing happens.. if you have Samsung the new phone have really cool flip phone cases with screen on side you can see notifications and you can talk thru it

I also had a similar experience once. I wanted a dark brown with a reddish tint. She left the roots on for so long while I assume she was mixing the bottom part, my roots ended up looking colourless, there was a huge orange streak on 1 side of my hair, but across not down, still not sure how that was possible, then the I had some parts that were red and others that were nearly black. They used toner on it and it looked better but I have never had my hair done professionally since. I cut and dye it myself now, it’s never once gone wrong for me.

Just a quick one.
My daughter hurt her wrist yesterday playing netball. It’s not broken. She can still move it. However, she’s clearly done some damage as she can’t use it much. She can’t hold anything in that hand and it you touch it. Even lightly she winces in pain. I don’t want to waste hospital staff’s time especially as my local hospital is struggling at the moment. But I feel like she should be seen, but also as it’s not broken I’m unsure what they will be able to do?
None of my children have ever had an injury like this and I’m not too sure if I’m being over cautious

I would definitely get it checked.

Thank you for your reply, it was our first night with her last night so I was pretty overwhelmed (in a good way)
She slept all night in her own bed in our bedroom so that's a start. I don't mind her being in our bed but my husband has allergies so I don't want them to flare up.

Im leaving her for short bursts of time, but staying in the house for now, I'm not sure if she had separation anxiety before coming to us or if it's just developed from changing family. It is something I anticipated though, so I have done a little bit of reading about it.
It's kind of like having a baby though, reading doesn't prepare you much for the reality
