Glad I found this thread.

I have a query that I can’t seem to get definitive answer on google.

I am up for car insurance renewal next month, the renewal paperwork has come through and i noticed that i haven’t updated the occupation for the past 3 years, I’ve just simply rolled over. The profession type is still the same. Basically what’s on the policy is (I’ll use example rather than my actual so I don’t triangulate myself): e.g. ‘Administrator’, and then my actual job now is like ‘Administrative Officer’ at a new place. It’s the same type of job just a different title. I am not claiming, I just need to renew. Will I likely get penalised for updating it 3 years late? I’ve never made a claim and don’t need to, currently.

I know I can ring them and ask but I get nervous ringing up these places and it feels like they always try to find a reason to increase the fee/punish you, so I want to know what I can expect, first.

Basically what I’m asking is, has anyone else accidentally forgotten to update a very slight change to occupation, and were you penalised? In the context of having never made a claim/not requiring to claim.

Of course if I changed address, car, etc I would inform them but the occupation line is on about page 4 so easily missed as the title is so similar and they’ve always automatically rolled the policy over.

Some people get white lab coat syndrome with doctors, for me, it’s ringing up insurance companies

Does anyone else get clothes of the washing machine and they have stains on that weren't there when they went in? It only happens to cotton/Jersey tshirts. How do you avoid it?

It's happened with a couple of different washing powders, I might try without fabric softener to see if that makes a difference.
I’ve had this before with white tops. I think it was the fabric softener. I now use only a small amount and dilute it with water to stop it from staining

Has anyone ever cooked a food item from frozen when it should have been defrosted?

I had a veggie sausage roll for lunch yesterday that I've had a couple of times before with no issue. Just heat up in oven. I had one in the freezer and for some reason put it straight in the oven.

About 30 mins later, I felt awful. No diarrhoea or vomiting but this incredible fatigue and bloating. No cramps but vague stomach discomfort and rectal pressure. I still feel rough this morning, very tired, and only just realised that veggie roll should have been throughly defrosted before heating.

Have I given myself food poisoning?

Looking for fashion advice… I’m wanting a winter coat that will last a life time. Was looking for a parka style, down fill, very warm and waterproof etc. Looked at Canada Goose but don’t like the big labels and felt too flashy, then looked at Holland Cooper but all made with polyester and filled with it too! Did look at Woolrich but no coats are long enough as I outdone want it to cover by bum and tops of my thighs. Anyone got any suggestions? Ideally want Parka style, down fill with fur trim collar which is detachable. Thanks

Feel like am never off this 😅 but it's so handy

Has anyone used the imagination library? An is it worth it if your having to pay for it? It's not offered in my area so I'd imagine if am successful then I'd need to pay out the £25 a year for it, while I don't mind that am wondering if the books themselves are worth the costs or if I'd be as well just going to the shops, I'd be looking at the toddler range for books

Anyone know the law around repairs? My boiler is faulty (been out of action since Tuesday) and I've been told they have no idea when this will be sorted. Which is great as someone with Raynaud's.

I do have an electric shower. But I have to boil the kettle to do washing up.
Do you rent? Where in the uk do you live?

Is this for school/college/uni? Or a work setting? Xx

for uni

Are you in the UK? If so have you tried rescue remedy? I suffer anxiety as well an can stress out alot which causes me to try an withdraw an be quiet, you can get it as a spray or gummies

When you are relaxed you are not as conscious about talking as when your stressing about every one

I'd take water as well, drinking an eating can break the fight or flight mode as when you eat or drink that tells the brain that you are in no danger since naturally you wouldn't be eating or drinking if you were in danger (comes from our ancestors who would need to fight to survive) I use that as well whenever I start to feel the stress coming on, take a drink an it breaks that fight or flight panic we go into, so I'd recommend taking a bottle of water an whenever you feel that little panic come on then take a drink, also as a ex performer the biggest advice I can tell you about speech is what we all used to get told "pretend old grandma is sitting in the back an forgot her hearing aid again" lol its stupid but it helped us project our voices
yh in the uk. ive heard of rescue remedy but havent tried it. thank you for your advice i barely drink water will try and let you know. ive never heard of that saying but i actually think itd be useful, than you ♥

Just a quick one.
My daughter hurt her wrist yesterday playing netball. It’s not broken. She can still move it. However, she’s clearly done some damage as she can’t use it much. She can’t hold anything in that hand and it you touch it. Even lightly she winces in pain. I don’t want to waste hospital staff’s time especially as my local hospital is struggling at the moment. But I feel like she should be seen, but also as it’s not broken I’m unsure what they will be able to do?
None of my children have ever had an injury like this and I’m not too sure if I’m being over cautious
It’s probably just sprained or badly bruised.. but if you are concerned do you have a local walk in centre? Some tube grip, rest and pain relief should help.

Tablet help

I charge my grandchildren's tablets (amazon) when they go home and turn them fully off, but for some reason, they switch on and the batteries run down by the next visit.

I have all notifications etc off Any ideas on how to stop this? I know I could just leave charging to the day before they are coming but then I'm liable to forget

I have a jumper I really love that is 80% Acrylic and 20% Wool. When i put it on it feels sooo itchy. Does anyone have any tricks to make it not feel so itchy? I have eczema too which probably isn’t helping the situation

Hi! (TMI warning in advance)

I haven’t actually posted before but just looking for some advice …..

I’m not currently trying to conceive but we are planning on trying again in the near future (not currently not on any birth control just tracking my period and avoiding the ovulating week according to an app I have)

I felt a little sick a couple days ago and last night I took my period, 4 days early, I woke this morning and it was really heavy and has continued to be all day, way more than it ever has been in my life before, I have had some cramps but nothing unbearable, but there is a lot of blood (TMI) with what looks like some clots (but then again I don’t inspect other periods so this might be nothing?)

I don’t want to seem over dramatic and say I think im having a miscarriage as I haven’t experienced that before and didn’t miss a period to take a test - can anyone offer any advice does this seem like a random extremely heavy period that’s come on early or something else? Also if you were worried it was a miscarriage would you just see it through at home or seek medical advice, I’m really naive about this as you can probably tell and don’t really want to worry anyone over nothing!
I'd seek some medical advice, it's always better to be safe than sorry

I've never tried for kids myself but I do randomly get heavy periods with a few big clots, usually if it's late or early is when I get the worst ones an the pains would be the worst with those ones as well

But like others have said, it's best to get it checked out, no one will ever view it as you being paranoid, it's perfectly normal to see someone an they will be used to it as well

Selling my car and can't find the service history for the life of me 🤦‍♀️ It's a '14 plate, I had it serviced regularly, I can find one invoice showing the service but the book is nowhere to be found. Have a sneaky suspicion my 4 year old nephew binned it when he was rifling through the glove box recently.

Am I totally screwed without this? I had it serviced at an independant garage (who have been hopeless, tried to call them, say they have no records.)

My new car is coming Tuesday and I'm worried I won't be able to sell this one and I'll be stuck!
