I remember my first microwave in the 80s .I bought the biggest in the huge store and when I unpacked it it almost filled up my kitchenAnother DFS fan here. They make good stuff. It lasts and it's fashionable but not overly if that makes sense. Also the credit is a fixed rate if you went down that route. I've only ever done 'debt' (pay to own) for two things. A car and a sofa. I haven't regretted either. Just remember your to measure because they look a lot smaller in the massive showrooms and you don't want to end up with a room v sofa ratio issue.
does wearing some kind of undershirt help? i have a lovely sweater that i didn’t realise was wool when i got it - i got a long sleeved white basic top from primark to wear under it and that helped me with the itchiness, though i don’t know how it would impact your eczema.I have a jumper I really love that is 80% Acrylic and 20% Wool. When i put it on it feels sooo itchy. Does anyone have any tricks to make it not feel so itchy? I have eczema too which probably isn’t helping the situation
Maybe if your hair is long enough try putting it up in a tight bun of some sort so limited hair is exposed to the smoke. I remember when I used to smoke going to the hairdressers they would wash your hair and I could smell the smoke in it myself, hence giving up as let’s face it it stinks.Tattlers!
Anyyone any good tips for removing cigarette smoke from hair?
So basically I work in domiciliary care and I go to different peoples houses throughout the working day.
So today for example the house I visited had been smoking heavily and was still smoking as I entered, though they quickly put it out it was all lingering in the air.
My hair (and uniform) STINKS, I don't want to wash my hair every single day as it causes it to go greasy and also I like to limit washing as my hair is bleached but in good condition.
I've tried perfume but doesn't lift it, not keen on dry shampoo, so bar driving with my head out the window, I don't know what to do
My uniform isn't an issue as it's clean everyday and we are supplied with plenty.
Please don’t worry, insurance companies get this all the time! You can update it from your renewal date and it will be no problem, just say something like … oh I’ve just noticed this on my renewal paper work, is it possible to update my occupation so it’s more accurate. They won’t pass any remarks!!!Glad I found this thread.
I have a query that I can’t seem to get definitive answer on google.
I am up for car insurance renewal next month, the renewal paperwork has come through and i noticed that i haven’t updated the occupation for the past 3 years, I’ve just simply rolled over. The profession type is still the same. Basically what’s on the policy is (I’ll use example rather than my actual so I don’t triangulate myself): e.g. ‘Administrator’, and then my actual job now is like ‘Administrative Officer’ at a new place. It’s the same type of job just a different title. I am not claiming, I just need to renew. Will I likely get penalised for updating it 3 years late? I’ve never made a claim and don’t need to, currently.
I know I can ring them and ask but I get nervous ringing up these places and it feels like they always try to find a reason to increase the fee/punish you, so I want to know what I can expect, first.
Basically what I’m asking is, has anyone else accidentally forgotten to update a very slight change to occupation, and were you penalised? In the context of having never made a claim/not requiring to claim.
Of course if I changed address, car, etc I would inform them but the occupation line is on about page 4 so easily missed as the title is so similar and they’ve always automatically rolled the policy over.
Some people get white lab coat syndrome with doctors, for me, it’s ringing up insurance companies![]()
Am hoping that's the case, I've never been to London so I don't know what anything there has, I know our train stations don't have anything like that but with London being such a large city an having thousand of tourists in an out I'd like to think there would be somthingIs it possible that the train station will have luggage storage?
I’d be interested to know this too actually as we plan on visiting London over night by train at some point this year. I know airports often have lockers you can store your luggage in but not sure about train stations.
Mine will be thin I think.. she said my sight just needed sharpening not for long distances but for reading and driving. My PC monitor is my TV and it's about 7 feet away from me. I think that is where I shall benefit most with as reading posts etc makes my eyes tired from that distance I can still read numberplates from distance but at night trying to focus in on door numbers etc is a problem.I only need mine really for reading, TV an driving to sharpen up the images an I don't drive much so i tried to get as cheap as I could since they aren't fully important to me since my eyes aren't too bad
personally I didn't find the antiglare to do anything for me, they were still the same as my previous that didn't have it, am not sure if its to do with the lens or not, my lens are really thin compared to my mums that are super thick an she said she seen a little difference with having the antiglare on hers
Filed a case through the banking app after reading that. Thank you! Will definitely stick with the likes of eBay and amazon etc from now on.It shouldn’t take that long tbh I always order from eBay if it’s stuff from China that way you’re guaranteed your money back and it’s usually Speedpak so takes 3 day’s to arrive, appreciate what you ordered might not be available through eBay but it’s the safest for foreign goods. I’d ring your bank on Monday and see if you can get your card refunded if the goods arrive you can always contact the company and arrange another payment to them.
i wouldn’t worry - you can’t get food poisoning from vegetables surely? I always cook “fresh” meat sausages that are half / partly frozen that I’ve freezed and I’ve never had any issues. Apparently you’re not allowed to freese them but I don’t really get whyHas anyone ever cooked a food item from frozen when it should have been defrosted?
I had a veggie sausage roll for lunch yesterday that I've had a couple of times before with no issue. Just heat up in oven. I had one in the freezer and for some reason put it straight in the oven.
About 30 mins later, I felt awful. No diarrhoea or vomiting but this incredible fatigue and bloating. No cramps but vague stomach discomfort and rectal pressure. I still feel rough this morning, very tired, and only just realised that veggie roll should have been throughly defrosted before heating.
Have I given myself food poisoning?
BravissimoSorry not really a ‘problem’ but ladies I need your help! Where do you recommend for bras? I’ve been looking all night and the ones I love are just so expensive for the one bra, I’ve had a good clear out so I’m in need of a few! I usually get them from M&S just because they’re good quality but non are taking my fancyI have bought a few from Ann summers before but I think the quality is pretty naff! I saw some gorgeous ones on savage x fenty thought I was in for a bargain so added loads to my basket and didn’t realise they were only less than half the price because it’s a £49 monthly subscription
I’m 25 so I do like more of the pretty lacy bras but still do need that support! Thank you

I tend to pull my downwards at the front until the first bit is out. Then it’s a bit of wriggling and twisting to get the end out. If it’s flexiable at all, I would try and make the L less bent to give you a softer corner.I’ve been trying all evening to get an L shaped stud out of my nose and it will not budge… I don’t understand?!about to crack… what can a piercing place do that I can’t?
There’s no clip or fastener, I’ve watched so many YouTube videos and they all just slide out. About to scream lol
ASOS have loads of stuff onlineNot really a problem, more looking for suggestions… does anyone know of semi fitted lounge wear that doesn’t make you look slobbish? I’d love a black co ord set that looks out together rather than my usual track pants and T-shirt. Something that looks out together if you know what I mean?
I've always got a plumber to swap mine. Brand wise I have Triton's (currently and previously) and I've always been happy with them. They do silver as well as white ones.Random, possibly stupid, question: I need to replace my electric shower, pretty much like for like. The electric is there, the water is there, so really just swapping one for another. Do I need to find an electrician for this, or a plumber?
(any recommendations for electric showers gratefully received before I just take an uneducated punt on one!)
What on earth have you got 6 bins for?Town next to us that family live in get charged £50 to empty their green an brown bins
It's being tested with them to see if it works in the hopes people are more sensible with recycling, it's ridiculous the amount of bins we have, I've 6 out back an even if one wrong thing is in the bin they refuse to lift it
We also have to pay for 6 month of the year for the brown bin to be emptied because its a "seasonal" thing an they won't empty it at all over winter
Which council area do you live in??? If you have 6 bins, im struggling to understand how you’ve got so much waste you can’t find a place for?!Of course my family must be just making it up thenyes we do pay an no there's no "extras" here our council unfortunately works on greed so yes I am left paying for bins to be emptied, an yes I put things in the right bin, they are just ridiculous slim an I am certainly paying no £100 for bigger sizes, an some houses here don't even get the bins free, the persimmon houses had to pay for theirs at the end of my street
Only council homes get stuff free here
Put it in the freezer, the wax should just come off.Not really a problem, I’m looking for advice. I was gifted this candle below and it’s melted in the middle down to the bottom, but there is still a lot of unused wax round the edges. How do I go about getting the wax out and making my own candle from it? The jar is metal.

How old are you??not to give too much info but basically my parents are in debt, but are not dealing with it and have left it to me. my mum doesnt speak english and my dad doesnt handle the stuff. he for some reason does not pay the rent or tax etc as his friends do not pay it and have advised him to pay as well. he is rarley home but all the letters of home possessions and tax libality and courts come to me. most of the rent is payed by benefit due to low income but due to me not going into higher education benefits stopped paying for my share of rent and tax. due to covid being in peak and my social anxiety at it worst i wasnt able to find or look for a job. enforcement agents even had to come to get tax payments and extra pirce was added due to agent coming, my dad payed for it but blamed me for it. now the place that is supposed to be home is at stakes due to court hearing of repossesion, my mum blames me for not finding a job and paying it off and my dad is dismissing it. part of the rent is mine and partly is my dads as he earns a little bit more than recomended living wage so has to pay % of extra wage towards rent. but he is refusing to understand that and is saying all the rent is mine but i dont have anyhting to pay for it. i dont know what to do and incomes team arent really helping, how do i explain my situaton?
I am in need of serous help, enforcement agents came today, im scared what to do.
Yes i have had it for almost 2 weeks at at ime.Has anyone ever experienced an under eye twitch that's lasted for days?
I've had it in the past but for just a few minutes at a time, then it goes away. I'm on day 5 now and it's doing my head in. It has lessened a bit. It was constant but it's slightly more intermittent now. I have a neuro problem (a weird and wonderful type of migraine) but it isn't that because I tried taking the acute medication to see if it would go away and it hasn't.
Has anyone got any tips to get rid of it? It's bothering me now.
