@Bastion not a loser at all. I hate walking into rooms when people are already there. I'm very self conscious.

Do you have an HR department or anyone higher? Sounds like they should be in alot of trouble for being unprofessional
Yes, there's an HR dept and I had a formal meeting with them and my line manager back in November. They'd set aside 1hr 30mins but it took nearly 4 hours for me to list (and get HR to log) every incident from March 2020 onwards. My line manager kept apologising for all the things he had done but I just said to him that these were all issues I'd discussed with him before and he never apologised at the time so why was he now apologising. Clearly he was doing it because HR were present πŸ™„ At the end of the meeting I said I can handle the senior manager not liking me as I don't like him either (he's the lech) but I can't have my line manager constantly bullying me too. I asked if he could treat me fairly and he said yes, so I said let's discuss a back to work plan in a further meeting with just me and him. That meeting never happened. I was having to call him each Monday for a welfare check but whenever I asked about coming back to work he said it would be discussed in the next formal sickness meeting. 2 months later and he's stopped the welfare calls. 2 weeks ago he told me this was now with a top level manager who would be having a meeting with me in the next few days but I've heard nothing.

@Bastion what arseholes. Sounds to me like they might be trying to make you quit. This happened to one of my housemates and in the end she basically got made redundant and got a pay out

He's awful! Are you in the UK lovely? ACAS are the free employment law specialists and they are excellent (y) https://www.acas.org.uk/contact

You might have a case for constructive dismissal? x

I agree... Or they're hoping I'll return to work rather than go on half pay and they can keep treating me like tit.

@TicTacToc How about something like this? Obviously a slight melody change and a bit of a tempo change too, especially the last few lines. They should be good and loud for maximum enjoyment obviously! :ROFLMAO:

If you could choose to change your shape,
Would you be a Plant or Ape?
Of all the choices you could be,
Any creature land and sea,
Fairies, Robots, Monsters too,
These are all good wishes true!

But what (what)
Would (would)
I (you)
Wish? (Wish?)
If I wished I were you?

(me doing iffy backup vocals ;) :ROFLMAO: )

Thanks hun. I've been in contact with ACAS and they've been helpful. I feel like management are playing a game to see who will blink first.... And it's not going to be me. 2 other members of the team have been on long term sick over the last year (both off with work stress too, though luckily not caused by being bullied by management) and I can't understand why management of the team isn't being investigated as the 3 of us make up 40% of the workforce!
I'm actually pretty chill about it, not crying or feeling anxious any more. They've got no grounds to sack me and my manager even admitted to HR that I'm one of his best workers, so I'm just playing the long game. If top level management don't arrange a meeting in the next few weeks I've got a relative that will lend me the money to cover the half pay.

πŸ’ͺ @Bastion

Glad you have had some help already from an independent party and that you have family who will be able to help if you need it in the meantime ❀

It's just nuts isn't it? If everybody was decent humans and just did their jobs everyone would be a winner πŸ˜“

What do you all enjoy doing to relax?
I do crosswords, listen to podcasts and generally potter around. I clean a lot as I enjoy things being organised and I have at least one massive bubble bath a day, sometimes two. I also like to walk and think it relaxes me .

@Bastion have just caught up and I am so sorry to read about the treatment you have been receiving. I manage people and my people are the backbone of my business their welfare is everything to me and I want then to feel safe and to thrive. When I hear of people being treated badly it just pisses me off because without brilliant staff managers are nothing.

You stick to your guns because you are in the right completely. There has to be a process in your companies HR rules about the time scales in regards to managing long term absence. This is compliance so they can't just pick and choose and leave you hanging. Just make sure as you have keep notes of everything. Don't let them get you down.

Also don't think your strange for your ways. I have so many idiosyncrasies within my personality that if I said them out loud people would think ohhhhhhhhh kkkk. It's what makes us thr unicorns in a world of horses πŸ˜‰

Your poo is lovely! My best friend has a poo called Poppy which is the love or her life. I got her a hoodie last year that said crazy cockapoo lady 😁

Crosswords make me feel dumb πŸ˜… I used to enjoy sudoko but after a while they're either too easy or absolutely impossible to work out without jotting loads of possibilities down on a separate sheet of paper πŸ˜‚
I love that you enjoy having a bubble bath each day πŸ›€ It's such a wonderful way to wind down.

What kind of podcasts do you listen to @Katie8ee?
Now your asking haha I listen to a LOT of podcasts. With my job I can be listening to podcasts the whole time I work so it can be ten hours a day πŸ˜‚. I also listen to new podcasts as they come out. There was a discussion I think on MT about crime podcasts which is which I predominantly listen to and I can honestly say I have listened to the lot. There isn't a crime podcast on the chart in the past seven years I haven't binged πŸ˜‚ so it's mostly series so eight or ten episode series but when I run out of new episodes I listen to 48 hours or Dateline . These are American tv crime shows like crime watch that have hundreds of episodes as been on for years and rhen have put them on as podcasts.

I was going to make a SSDGM reference but wasn't sure if you'd get it - I haven't even listened to the podcasts that came from I just picked it up along the way that it was their catchphrase :ROFLMAO:

If you had to do desert island podcasts what would your choices be? *takes out notepad* :geek: I tried the Louis Theroux ones but found them a bit boring 😬 That was my first and only attempt at podcasts πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

@Bastion I used to do loads of sudoku too! (y)

Ooh speaking of true crime podcasts has anyone seen Only murders in the building? I really enjoyed it! (y)

SSDGM from My Favourite Murder hehe I binged that whole show during lockdown, I listen to it still but it does have peaks and troughs for sure. I go through phases but I do prefer shows that do their research. Long story short I did a Masters in Criminology so I know my crime πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ so there is nothing more annoying than listening and the podcast person is talking tit like it's fact.

Ohh this is hard so for a varied pallete of podcasts.

Uncover which is from CBC there are are few seasons but the first one is about NXIVM the cult. It was one of the first news media outlets to have information. The 2nd season and my favourite is called The Village (so it's like Uncover: The Village) which is about a serial killer in Toronto who killed men in the gay village. It's woven in with the history of gay Toronto to its magnificent.

Someone knows something also CBC
S-Town
Serial (the OG crime podcast that started the surge of popularity we know now)
Hunting Warhead (heavy topic but just fantastic)
Thunder Bay

Basically most of CBC content is incredible.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head at 3am hahaha but I will look at my library tomorrow because I know I'm missing some gems πŸ˜‚

Thank you so much for your lovely post.
People do think I'm strange but they all accept me for who I am. I feel very blessed to have so many friends and family that love and support me.

I remember when I was having CBT and the lady was asking about things that make me stressed. I told her going for petrol makes me really anxious and she asked me to tell her why and I started reeling off all these things -
- I'm worried I'll go to get out the car and my feet will get caught in the seat belt and I'll fall over
- I'm worried that I won't be able to get the petrol cap off
- I'm worried that I'll put the wrong petrol in
- I'm worried I won't put the hose down far enough and petrol will spurt all over me
- I'm worried I won't be able to lock the petrol cap
- I'm worried I'll trip up on my way to the kiosk
- I'm worried that my card will be declined

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ The lady was like "OK, I think you've given enough examples πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Haha, love the idea of the hoodie. I'll be looking that up on Amazon.

Thanks again for your kind words ❀😘

Thanks for the recommendations @Katie8ee I'd probably get into the true crime ones in particular too (y)

Ooh that's really cool that you did a Masters in Criminology! That must have been fascinating! ❀
An old friend of mine went to school to do a degree in Forensic Science and works with the Police now, I lost touch but occasionally bump into their mum :)

I don't listen to podcasts but do love true crime (as long as it's not about child abuse or the mafia) I mainly read books or watch documentaries on it. I'm struggling to find anything new though.
I watched a great show (can't remember what it's called) but it was showing the last 24 hours of people's life before they were going to prison. So you saw them trying to right wrongs and apologise to their family. A couple of the stories really made me cry - there was a girl that got 18 months for breaking in to a car but she was a strong support for her mother and special needs brother. Without her to help the mother was going to have to move to a different state as the county she was in didn't have the support available, but that would mean she wouldn't be able to come visit the girl. It might not sound emotional from my description but it really was 😭

The good thing about all of those I told you about ( and I didn't even do it intentionally) is that they are actually made by professional journalists / film makers. A lot of podcasts are just randoms throwing conjecture and it can work but it can FAIL so if your just starting out then it's good to go with the facts and a more professional scenario!

I have always been into crime which is always hilarious to say. It fascinates me not even in a morbid way just why humans do what they do. Especially now when people.see life as Netflix so don't make the link between binging a crime documentary and that documentary being about actual real humans. It's all just content now, reality has slipped away .

I can't believe I am still awake but to be fair I am on call all weekend so tomorrow my plan is to lay in bed watch Netflix and relax πŸ˜‚ so doesn't matter what time I wake up.

I think those are the sorts of things I'd prefer to listen to as well so thank you for the recommendations! ❀

I find it interesting in the same way as you, I don't actually like the gorier details but it's the minds behind the actions and the swirling of events that culminate in these things that I find fascinating too.
BIB This is a really interesting point and I agree with you (y) The Tiger King phenomena was a good example of this I thought.

Bless you, the good part of Adulting is you get to choose your own bedtimes... the bad part of Adulting is that you are responsible for choosing your own bedtimes ;) :ROFLMAO:

Have you watched Mundhunter? The series about the beginnings of the behavioural science unit at the FBI? It is fantastic in respect to the criminal mind.

When I take my beta blockers they stop adrenalin and mess up sleep which is why I'm wide awake πŸ˜‚ I now have a little cat lying on my chest purring away though lulling me to sleep 😊
