Shabby was on in the first lockdown about not using a home dye kit also. And in fairness to her and Rustiqu denise, Peter Mark came out after the first Lockdown and said they would have to charge more to try and fix home dye jobs. There was outcry over that. But having talked to a couple of hairdressers, who I trust, they were saying that the problems would mainly be for blondes, as there is bleach in the dye. I was going to use a home dye kit during first lockdown, but my mom's best friend, who is. a hairdresser, said please don't. There would be a possibility of my hair going orangey. And to be honest, if anyone would feck up a home hair dye, it would be. The only and only time I tried it, about 20 years ago, I left the color on too long and my hair had a distinct green tinge to it. Even after 2 trips to a hairdresser to try and correct it, it still looked green.
I'm sure others on here have better home dye experiences then me, but it's just to say that what denise and shabby were saying isn't copmnpletely bonkers. The money that denise was talking about was probably just that you need a couple of visits to the hairdressers. I probably spent at least €300 over the 2 visits to try and fix my hair.
