On DS they insist that the judges have stated that they mark contestants against themselves not against each other - so Dan is being marked against his previous attempts, not against what John or AJ is doing. That sounds like bollocks to me: Shirley’s been giving Dan high marks all series.

I am worried for Rhys too, I wonder if Nancy is being a bit too tough on him? Katya and Oti are known for being tough on their celebs but the balance it with also being warm and friendly, I don't get warm vibes from Nancy.

It’s only (at this stage) contacts of suspected Omicron cases that must self-isolate regardless of vaccination status.
I think it’s if you come into contact with a case of Omicron you’ve to isolate but I don’t know how you’d know.. I guess Test and Trace would contact you.
yeah I am sure the contestants will have to clamp down on socialising (although they still have to go on lots of TV shows). I was a bit shocked to see Gio on Insta last week at his fave restaurant Gola hanging out in the kitchen with all the chefs and various randoms like footballer Jorginho. It would be crazy if he got so close to his glitter ball - which is now nailed on - and got pinged or tested positive and had to pull out.

)It’s really looking now that the Judges have been told to maybe inflate what they would give Dan by a couple of points - which could explain why Craig gave him a 6 rather than the 3/4 I was certainly expecting. But maybe he really does have a huge fanbase who will vote for him even if it’s not the best, which is what I do with Rose (although her worst is still a good bit better than Dan’s best)

I liked Amy during the first couple of years. She built a sweet friendship with Brian and I felt sorry for her after her partnership with Danny seemed to fall apart.
However, when she was paired with Karim, her Uber-competitive side came out and it was all about how she couldn’t wait to dance at Blackpool again and how she couldn’t believe she was in the final. It never seemed to be about Karim and them as a couple which I found off-putting. That same competitiveness came out this year with her over the top shrieking at getting through, sullen face when her and Tom fell into the dance-off and complete disregard for Cynthia’s score because Amy thought a Tony-winning, Oscar-nominated actress was wrong when she said she didn’t see emotion in their performance.
I will say that Amy is clearly loved by lots of the other professionals but I think she struggles to conceal her competitive nature as well as others do. All the pros want to win but the likes of Oti and Giovanni are able to feign a nonchalance even when they’re dreaming of lifting the glitterball. It was the same thing that put me off Kevin - his desperation to win and that win being all about him and not Stacey!
I'm Catholic too. My sons Catholic Cubs group did a Light Festival thing, but I think it's an import from born again Christians, as Catholics in other countries have a Day of the Dead festival eland I believe there's an Irish festival too. Halloween wasn't a big thing here when I was a kid. Nov 1 is All Souls Day where you remember the dead, and that was a thing with the grownups in our house. My mum still goes to church.
I hadn’t heard of Cynthia either but she sang at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall and it was fabulous.

I agree about kai, although it could just be genetic as he’s very pale skinned. He also seems to hold back on the fake tan. It always makes me smile when I see her makeup on his face after the dances!
it will probably be a good idea for the pros doing the christmas special to miss next weeks show, as it will only be a couple of days before the show gets recorded.
