I don't think anyone has an issue with bunk beds per se, I had them when my sons were young, it's a bit inconvenient to change the top bunk but definitely outweighed by the extra space you get. However in Stacey's case
1. She's made built in bunk beds for a baby and a not quite 2 year old, who clearly won't be sleeping in them for a year or more!
2. The beds are not full size (unlike normal bunk beds) so probably won't be able to be used beyond the age of 6 max either...so all this fuss for something that - unless she has even more kids, God forbid - will have to be ripped out in 4 years or so
3. The wall behind the beds is covered in some padded material which can't be cleaned...even more so because the beds are fixed in position, so you can't even move them to get to the wall.
4. The padded wall covers a couple of plug sockets
5. The stairs down from the bunk bed are right next to a low window (which I'll bet doesn't have window locks) and just look dangerous.
The whole thing is a dirt/ death trap but mostly I hate it because it's been done purely for the aesthetic. She could easily have done the bunks (leaving out the padded wall because that's fucking pointless!) for Rex and Rose, decorated the room in rainbow colours (and put Babybel in Rose's old room)...and then in another couple of years redone it all in her fave pinks for the Golden Girls to share.
But because the Golden Girls are the moneymakers, and because I'm guessing she never got a pink bedroom as a kid, she's done all this now, depriving her son of his bedroom to make a completely impractical room for the girls, one of whom won't sleep in it for at least a year or more!
