ngl, i am a big fan of S&G and when i stumbled upon this thread, at first i thought you guys were being too rude but after going both of the threads about s&g i do see why you guys would think they are fake. you guys raise some VERY valid points and honestly, there is nothing wrong with raising doubt. now, personally, i think their relationship is not a 100% what they make it out to be, but they are not fake. i am a 21F in college and i am not ashamed to say that i will never date a guy like shane. that doesn't make me ableist. i have the right to choose who i spend my life with.

but i want to add one thing, which is the reason why i think they are a real couple who put only the good bits of their relationship online.

at this point, they are in too deep. that's their identity. i am not even from the US but their channel got recommended to me a million times on yt. they are not just "US famous" anymore. you guys need to understand that their lives will be ruined if this is all just a joke and they have been lying to fans the entire time. on top of that, they constant joke about how people think they are fake. imagine a fake couple actually joking about that. they won't. they would be too paranoid to do that.

and their intimate life is none of our business, but personally i think they use sex toys and found their own way to work. everyone is different. and if you watch their "physical therapy" vid, i think we can all see they can be intimate if they want to.


idk whether my input matters or not. i saw this and really wanted to put my two cents, actually made the acc for doing just that. also, English is not my first language (I am not from the US) so excuse my mistakes.

Can't wait for their county to update their marriage certificate database. If it's not there, we'll know for certain it's all BS. If it's there, well, Hannah is either seriously weird or has some deep-seated issues or trauma. Someone's said it before, but if you're that painfully shy and socially awkward, why agree to this public life?? She hates facetiming, but doesn't mind making videos for the whole world to see??

i found this thread via reddit. on reddit too there are many people who dont believe they are real/genuine. and again, there is nothing wrong with saying or believe that. they are not a private couple. they chose to put their lives online for monetary gain. that gives people the right to form their opinions on them.

i wanted to comment because i feel like you guys are ignoring some things and only focusing on some points, that i know are valid but you need to see the bigger picture.
like i said, if this turns out to be fake their lives are actually ruined. youtube has pushed them so much at this point MANY people know s&g. they have a presence.
also. i dont know much about american politics but it seems like she is on the liberal side I guess. i picked that from her Instagram. and i do saw someone comment that Pennsylvania (Shane's HT) is not a "liberal state" so it makes sense hannah wanted shane to move. because in one of their vlogs hannah complains about some flag in Pennsylvania and shane jokes about how it's how things are here. so i think hannah moved because she wanted to be in a liberal state.

well that’s another thing that should’ve worked against them. Like, if they’re so fundamentally different then why are they even together? It wouldn’t have even gotten to the point of a (fake) relationship if not for the business. Most couples have similar views, hobbies they enjoy doing together, a few common friends or at least ones they’ve made over time. And I doubt that he uprooted his life, the only life he’s known, just because she didn’t want to be in a conservative state...or that his parents would’ve even allowed his move across the country just because of him falling in love when they were always responsible for keeping him alive. The girl would’ve moved to him. Changing his care personnel and routine, change doctors offices and medical resources etc just for love? When health is so fragile for him, Nah. He moved to get the YouTube channel off the ground, they had an extensive plan in place for his care (other than just Hannah) and then begin traveling as “Squirmy and Grubs”

If they “broke up” then she’d just move on with life just as his two previous girlfriends did. And Shane would probably continue the story with someone else. Of course he’s going to continue trying to find love (according to his followers). To protect both people, mainly her, they would say that it just didn’t work out

She did, but she didn't want to at first, says she hates it and it was a massive thing for her starting to facetime with him. That's what I gathered from their video on how they met anyway.

I think it's funny and telling how they made a whole video to "prove" their marriage wasnt fake, when the simplest and most obvious solution would be to show the marriage certificate. Even just give a glimpse, anything. Or explain the process. You'd think they'd be more than willing to show "the haters"

if you start wondering there are many things. but then at the end of the day, i do believe we can never know for sure. and idk. i think only a crazy fake couple will take a skit this far and make jokes about "people are saying we are fake lol lmao" and take things this far. like, if they are frauds then their lives will be ruined. anyone remembers that girl that accidentally uploaded a vid of her abusing her dog? yeah. her life got ruined and people still send her death threats. and she never even asked for donations of anything. and she had no where near as subs as s&g. i guess what i am saying is that people can be crazy and unforgiving (even tho animal abuse is indeed unforgivable) and honestly, pretty scary. if they end up being frauds it's over. they will never come back for that.

anyway. i just as their fan wanted to put my two cents in this discussion. i respect everyone's opinion and points. i think asking questions and raising doubts is never wrong. again i do think they put only the good parts online, but that is like every youtuber ever. no one puts the bad bits online. and i think the way you guys talk about their sex life is weird because it took me (and my friend who I watch s&g vids with) two secs to know... I seriously think you guys should watch their physical therapy vid because believe me that's the vid where it's clear that they actually can be physically intimate... plus ofc they use sex toys and stuff (I reckon). i think they are capable of having a healthy and fulfilling love life, like they have said a hundred times.

There lives won't be ruined but their easy sorce of money will be. They will part their ways and Hannah will have to get a real job. They may both be rich before that ever happens, so doubt they will be too bothered. That is if she doesn't have enough and leave before the lid gets blown off of it anyway.

I mean I don't think it's as though they sit around saying muahaha we scammed everyone and they totally don't like each other at all. Or the camera turns off and Hannah immediately drives off to her real boyfriend laughing. I don't think most people are saying that. It's more that they are in a business arrangement with a certain understanding that things have to look a certain way to get views, clicks, and money. So it's fake in the sense that she greatly exaggerates how easy it is to care for him, and the romantic relationship aspect of it is fake. Meaning if there were no YouTube channel to profit off of she would likely be elsewhere. How anyone can't see that is beyond me.

A great portion of their videos are sponsored, they have a ton of viewers, and its turned quite profitable. So to say why would people go so "deep" into a fake relationship when their lives could be "ruined" is to ask why any instagram influencer influence exaggerates their life, or any YouTube channel exists. It's obvious why.
