I understand everyone has different starting points in life and it’s not as simply as ol’ Molly Mae tried to make out, but there’s a happy medium between that and blaming everything that’s gone wrong on someone or something else.

Exactly. All of this could've been avoided if they just chose better, more succinct wording.

Also, as someone who books venues for shows (not personally I'm sure but you catch my drift), Sofie is in a good position to advocate for easy, small wins such as only working with venues who commit to advertise the width of their aisles/seats/toilet cubicles etc online. Not just for fat people but this could be handy for any number of things. Why stop there? Why not only work with venues that commit to a living wage for staff, who're autism friendly where possible, who are part of the 'good night out' campaign etc etc. No, that would all be too much work. A self indulgent social media rant will do it. That'll show us how wOkE they are.

I'm still catching up on this thread but this reminds me of when Adam Buxton recently chatted with David Sedaris. David said he disliked being called a "queer author" and would prefer just to be called an "author" (perfectly reasonable, I think), then elaborated to say that he knew a woman who described herself as queer - because she was tall. He was utterly baffled by this new interpretation of the word! As am I, and no doubt many others!

Sofie seems really bitter whenever someone loses weight because they have this theory that it's basically impossible for a fat person to lose weight - when Rebel Wilson or Adele or Lizzo lose weight it challenges that theory and makes them uncomfortable. Its obviously not personal, but Sofie always seems to take it as an attack on their own body and throw a fit about it. Saying you could lose the weight if you wanted to, but you don't want to, seems very controversial in the BP community. It has to be IMPOSSIBLE. But isn't the BP message clearer and more coherent if it's a choice people are making about their bodies?

I don't know if anyone here follows the gender discussions thread, but it is clear from some of the (fringe parts of) the trans community (I am not anti trans at all fyi) but language for some people seems to have lost all meaning. Being attracted to the same sex is what gay or lesbian means, how is that somehow regressive? and how is it any different from people in the far right claming that beign gay or lesbian doesn't exist?

Basically it’s a new woke national sport called Mental Gymnastics where you have to try and make sense of your own ideologies rules and hypocrisy’s. Sofie is clearly going for gold in the chucking rocks from a glass house event.

I know so many plus sized women who love to exercise and don’t do it to lose weight or because society made them - they do it because they enjoy exercise and are seeking the benefits beyond weight loss.

It’s so disingenuous for Sofie to be some sort of mental health ambassador when she refuses to even accept that exercise can be very beneficial for mental health.

Whenever I see the pics of him on stage with her looking up at her like ‘WTF?’ I just feel angry that a person could be so selfish and foolish to think they could slot a dog into their life.

Everybody told Sofie not to buy that dog. So many people told her that he would need surgery for entropion and was a high needs/high anxiety breed. Before she even brought him home.

Et voila. All came home to roost didn’t it.

Dogs like Hank are challenging even for experienced owners, let alone people who have never had a dog before. They’re not fun accessories you can drag around the country.

Sofie was really upset when Adele lost a lot of weight too. While I understand what some people were saying about feeling sad that they lost a plus size famous person they could identify with, Sofie acted like Adele lost weight as a personal attack on her.

My two dogs are rescues, one from abroad (Romania) and one from Dogs Trust. They both have their issues but are angels inside the house. Walking them is tough though as they have no manners, I have to do it when it’s quiet. I use special harnesses. I take them to an enclosed dog run for exercise. It’s work but thats the minimum they deserve because it is cruel to never walk a dog. They’re cuddled up to me now, scruffy little no breeds. Best pets ever. I didn’t choose them for their looks.
