My thoughts! Theatres are often historical buildings… should we tear them down? Not to mention what a shit old time venues have had this last year. Mate 😩
Don't give her ideas, she'll start a campaign for that to happen. Maybe, just maybe, the solution would be to, oh i don't know, perhaps lose a few stone? Such a novel idea, eh. It might even benefit her mental health. Win win! She gets healthy and the west end keeps its lovely velvet chairs.

Ugh I'm the same as you guys - used to like her lots but I actually feel like she gaslights her fans! Like, people make genuine points (and she INVITES the feedback and encourages people to "call her out") and then is like ooooh no, if you don't KNOW that i would NEVER think/do that then why are you following me? And oh well, if I make you feel THAT way then I'm affecting your mental health and you should unfollow me. Whenever she does "something wrong" (breeder, mate round during lockdown) she manipulates her audience with her explanations - she would have made a good lawyer for sure as she is very good at constructing arguments to defend her actions and make the other person feel like they're in the wrong. I've had a tradesman over to our house during lockdown because our boiler broke but I think that's quite different to having a mate over to paint your bathroom! Also, she has been SO self-righteous throughout this entire pandemic and I was just like.....WUT? The whole "he was tested two days ago and sees no one" is the same argument the Kardashian's used for their private island party lol. I mean...sure, the risk was probably low but if everyone is self-certifying that their rule breaking was "probably fine and low risk" then why have the rules in the first place? Everyone has their own odea of what constitutes a minor breach. Final point, I remember her story where she was justifying changing Hank's name from Xero. She was saying how she couldn't really say Xero but OF COURSE Xero will ALWAYS be his name. And then it pretty much never got mentioned again hahah. Ugh. Rant over. It's a shame - I really liked her.

She'll put some mental health spin on it, for sure.
It will be trauma related. She bought him because of trauma. She got rid of him because of trauma.

I have complex PTSD because of holding down my father’s contorting body as he died in the street.

I don’t use that to excuse myself for every dickhead decision I make.

Tbh I think Sofie is too selfish and too attached to Hank to give him up easily, even if it would be the best thing for him.

It’s such a pity they were so selfish they just couldn’t wait until they were able to adopt a better dog for a first time owner, or when they were in a better mental health state to handle it. Obviously all dogs need daily walks and attention, but aren’t Shar Peis really high energy and need a lot of intense care?
You can say she. It’s in her pronouns.

It's so weird that they would constantly go on about only leaving the house like THREE TIMES in the last year or something, and then get pissed off when someone assumes that means they haven't been walking their dog daily. If I say "I haven't been outside in three days" it literally means "I haven't been outside in three days". I cannot believe she's been walking Hank this whole time.
Yeah I 100% do not believe there have been proper walks this whole time. With how much Sofie posts on social media, and all the Hank updates, she really wants us to believe there wouldn’t have been multiple stories about each walk ... or “walk attempts” since they always seem to get cut short.
I think when they say “I don’t leave the house EXCEPT FOR DOG WALKS OBVIOUSLY” she’s really meaning letting Hank out in the back garden, not actual walks.

I’ve not owned dogs so correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t this a situation that the longer Hank goes on like this, not being properly acclimatised to the walks that apparently make him so anxious, the worse it will be to normalise it for him?

Well said 👏🏻

At some point in your life you have to take responsibility for your life and stop giving into every negative urge
it reminds me of the occasions when my partner catches me being genuinely lazy like when I lose stuff because I couldn’t be arsed to put it away properly in the first place and I sometimes try and pull the whole ‘well it’s my illness you see, it’s the brain fog, you can’t call out poor lil tired me 🥺’ but he’s like ‘you forget that I knew you before you got ill and you did exactly the same, this is just your personality’ DAMN IT 🤣

I found this thread from Google Sofie and their dog to see how the dog is. I was blocked months ago by Sofie after pointing out the dog was clearly from a breeder. I naively had believed them when they initially said how much they wanted to adopt a dog responsibly.

Personally I love seeing people adopt rather than shop, but I would never weigh in on someones decision to buy a bred puppy unless my opinion was asked for. With Sofie I'd caught a live on Instagram where they were repeatedly was saying how important it was to them to adopt and be responsible, so I sent them some info about a rescue organisation that adopts to people that live in flats (they'd said they were struggling with that). They did not respond to that message.

A couple of days later I saw them talking about Hank - to my mind a very clearly bred puppy - and messaged again to say the owner was clearly a breeder.

I then got blocked and posted about aggressively.

I'm sad to hear Hank apparently isn't being cared for properly and that they are accepting financial help for his vet costs :(

In retrospect it seems I provoked some narcissistic rage in Sofie. I think they're troubled and toxic. Hope they and Hank get the help they need. Although from my knowledge of narcissists there's limited scope for change.
She blatantly asked for donations for his treatment, berated anyone who questioned it because how could she know? (Isn’t it responsible as a pet owner to make sure you can afford their vet treatments?) then posted her PayPal details.
IMO she got Hank because she wanted a fancy dog and how quickly she was flip flopping about getting a dog, I’d be surprise if she looked into his breed at all.

She's right, it is classist. The North East is one of the most deprived and overlooked parts of the UK and our accent routinely mocked. Also it's not "us" as in plural - I'm from the North East and if I said something like, "pass us the remote control" it wouldn't quite be the same sound as the word "us". More like "ez", where I'd pronounce "us" like "uss".

She can absolutely fuck off anyway. I'm sure she'd find a way for an English person hating her accent to be oppressive.

And she's somehow made the cognitive leap that it sounds manipulative (to her) because of some trauma? Have these people fucking heard themselves, honestly.
Not quoting you in particular, but just the topic (I didn't realise this thread had moved on by about 20 pages since I last looked!).

I'm Glaswegian and some of us say a similar word, "iz". "Gie iz the remote control". Though I suppose a posher Kelvinside-accented person is unlikely to say it...more Castlemilk. It definitely is a class thing here too.

Surely with Sofie being Danish she/they should ignore the quirks of our language and not take everything so personally/literally? Though that's woke people in general, in a nutshell. Over-analysing everything but ignoring real injustices or good causes that are more worthy of their time and energy.

Can 'start grafting for your grifting' just be the title of every thread ever?

Also, influencers in the wild is pretty harmless. That man crawling down the beach? Come on now.

Also theatres have a hard time making money at the best of times, let alone the last year and a half, I doubt redoing all of their seating is a priority at this point

Jeez, she will have a field day when she finds this thread!!

I think Sophie is a bit of a lost soul (and a case study in why you shouldn't lay out your entire personality on the gram...)

Jesus, it is exactly what I feared.

Thing is, it is okay to hate little things like this but most of us just let little things grate on us but we never mention it outloud, let alone broadcast it on social media to thousands of strangers.

It is hilarious to wonder why she felt the need to note that she is Danish and therefore doesn't have the same perceptions but then disclaim that she loves the rest of the dialect.

Did they ever actually get into why they dislike it so much? Seems bizarre. And also kind of irrelevant because I think most northerners wouldn't spell it as 'can you help us' but 'can you help is' almost.

Not being funny but Sofie is 100% the type to go off on a twitter rant about someone who doesn't understand they/them pronouns because they're claiming it is only plural but now it seems sofie cannot fathom that this wouldn't be talking in the plural. Baffling.

ETA - I wonder if they've ever met someone from Yorkshire where it is quite common to say things like 'Let wuh get past' - as in 'let me get past' but i think is closer to sounding plural than their north eastern example.

Such lies! No way was she getting 60k views, ever! Maybe people don’t watch the videos because she’s so intolerant? And I can’t believe sofie doesn’t see the arrogance of ‘see someone else waded out to collect the scales from the river’. Sheesh she/they’re/he’s becoming insufferable! Unfollowed

Wonder if this feels like the woke equivalent of seeing someone who owes you money on a night out for her sponsors? That’s £227.64 per annum you could spend on dog care hun 😭

Honestly Sofie's explanation of gender identity doesn't make sense to me and I've never heard anyone else in the LGBTQ community talk about it like that.

I don't think just being uncomfortable/unfamiliar with the word 'woman' means you can occupy a space for people who truly sit outside gender norms and/or transition, especially when in all other respects you are binary. I don't particularly like being called a woman but I don't think that has to mean anything - for me the word has a lot of connotations of traditional femininity that I (rightly or wrongly) associate with older women and mothers so can't relate to... But so what? I also like being thought of as 'a person/my name' more than my gender... But who doesn't want to be seen as an individual? If I decided that my discomfort with 'woman' meant I was non-binary (which maybe it does? I don't think so though) then I can also label myself as 'queer' since I'm no longer a cis straight person, and that's another community I can fit myself into without really understanding it.

In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter, or it wouldn't, if there weren't trans people struggling so hard for recognition and getting their voices heard. But now anyone like Sofie who is non-binary in some small way can occupy those spaces and speak on trans issues which she doesn't really understand - not wanting to fit into 'man' or 'woman' is one thing, but she presents femme, doesn't have gender dysmorphia and still uses she pronouns. And she will get booked as a 'trans' individual to tick diversity boxes instead of someone else because she is white and cis-presenting. It doesn't seem right.
You are spot on. I've always felt uncomfortable about the way she and some like Jack Monroe co-opt trans identities, and you've perfectly articulated it.

It's really quite sad when you think about the number of her followers who will have mental health issues also and who will donate but so don't have a similar platform to ask for help.
There needs to be some sort of academic #discourse around the various big accounts with plenty of social capital (published authors, large social media followings, etc) asking for tips because I’m not articulate enough to explain all the reasons I think it’s wrong. Actually queen @HarderFaster probably knows this inside out 😂

It’s just.... bizarre? Like we’re in a global pandemic & recession like no other, how anyone in her position can think they’re worthy of donations is beyond me?! She’s just shown herself doing the flat up 🥴

At the price she quoted I think she’s getting the bike + which is the more expensive version with swivel screen etc. To be fair you do get a 30 day trial so hopefully she’ll see sense and realises she needs to regularly be taking Hank out before she commits to exercising on the Peloton.
As expected. Remember this is the woman with the £2.5k top of the range MacBook Pro. The £1k designer dog. The Liberty advent calendar (£200+). Three Deliveroos a day. Taxis everywhere. She spares herself nothing.

According to those day in the life videos tho, Hank has to put up with cheapo dog food…
