Snares just needs to accept one of two things - either a) he’s going to either stay at or keep piling on weight as he’s not addressing the issues that are causing him to binge eat and fall off track so often or b) what he’s doing and has done since 2020 isn’t working.

He lost a phenomenal amount of weight but like probably 80% of those who have done so, he’s gained it back because it hasn’t addressed the core issue. He probably did what the majority of them do and eliminate carbs completely, crash diet, realise food is basically fuel, over eat to compensate for the deprivation and can’t recapture the dedication he had before.

As someone who has done something similar the best thing I have ever done has been to just say a big duck you to dieting, accept I’m a bit overweight, enjoy my life in moderation and exercise. As a result I never binge and I’ve eradicated all the negativity surrounding food. If I want it, I have it, and just accept it and move on the next day instead of beating myself up and cycling through diets.
I am glad to see so many seeing the light when it comes to slimming world. I liked it for the groups as it gave me and my daughter time together and we would join together to lose a bit of weight for holidays. We never took it too seriously. When you step away from slimming world and you look back. It’s a binge and restrict cycle, you are being punished for having a social life, which is where none of us want to be after years or life restrictions.

I think slimming world is dated, its ambassadors and cover models are arrogant and poor. The persona of these slimming celebrities on social media is disgusting. When I attended group, we discussed the featured slimmers, their social media portrays them as arrogant and fame hungry as we have discussed on here many times over. Theres a disconnect between the social media side and group side.

Slimming world can be salvaged but it needs an overhaul and a rethink about who represents their brand. My son is talking of joining Slimming world due to seeing certain slimmers on Instagram and I am trying to put him off.

Random but I'm going to my mum's for tea tonight, she's an amazing cook and it makes me sad thinking of all the meals of hers I didn't eat over the years because of SW, I was such a control freak with it I'd always have a reason why I couldn't eat there or I'd be manically running all the ingredients through the app and I'd gave a go at her saying it would be her fault if I gained that week. Ridiculous how caught up in it all you get

I miss my mothers cooking even though she would cook chips in a lard filled chip pan. They really were the best. She made lovely mince and dumplings but it wasn’t the healthiest food you could eat.

Who even are the "ambassadors" for Slimming World? I have no idea.. do you mean title holders?
I thought ambassadors was a WW thing? No?

I think the worst are the ones that quite obviously stopped following plan but still talk like they're supposed to be these motivational / inspirational figures within the community. Especially if they have paid partnerships that does my nut in!!!

But I also see others who just seem to be doing well and are possibly a bit more naive to it / the culture of it.
..A bit embarrasing/cringey like but not actually arrogant. there's a few like that.

I like the accounts that are honest and offer advice. I wish people spoke more about how it is to go through it. more talks about triggers etc. I dont need to see Diane from Stoke-on-Trent telling me how to make a basic tomato and cheese pasta. or re-starts upon re-starts, upon re-starts with no proper accountabliity.

Also, some of them clearly dont post their gains or by the simple maths of it they'd have lost their weight down to 0lbs if all they ever did was lose as they appear to! 😆

I've followed SW for a while becuase the plan works for me and doesn't feel like a binge and restrict cycle
...But I've seen many, many people fall into that B&R cycle and it's such a waste of money for them

Also.. if i see anyone write 'SMASHING IT' one more time I'm going to set fire to the internet :cautious:🔥

TheSlimmingTeacher/(not)EnjoyingBeingEmma does this. Constantly posts when she has losses but never gains. Then a few months down the line says how she weighs the same as months ago!

I think I might have weight watchers mixed up with slimming world. I meant the people featured in magazines and on their articles. I don’t know what to call them.

I see the large scale events as a photo opportunity for the slimmers who endlessly self promote themselves like they are almost a celebrity in wait. The community slimming group has an ex slimming world member who was over 8 years at target, she never got an invite to any events, even though she was regularly nominated by her consultant.

You have to pretty enough to be invited to do SW PR.
A good example:
-Mrs Bav lost 9 stone and kept to target for a few years (despite gaining back more recently). she was never invited to do any PR for SW no magazine cover nothing
- Jennifer Ginley (jsg) lost 9 stone and was immediately the face of SW and all over their website, posters and magazine. She didn't even keep to target for a few month and within 18 month had gained most of it back.

Why was jen chosen over bav? Jen was more stereotypically pretty.
And no i'm no fan of Bav shes just as much of a twit as jen. But I think their cases are a good example of SW's pretty bias.

I can’t stand Bav. Having her on the front of a magazine would be enough to turn anyone off 😂

I get what you are saying though

They haven't got enough paper.
Her teeth would fill the front cover.

Same. I dislike her. I'm not saying she should have had a cover, more observing she absolutely would have if she was prettier and had better teeth.

There are far nicer people than bav who I can't think of names who have lost a tonne and not got recognised because someone at SW office decided they didn't have the right face.

I think someone said the other day, most of the big SW Insta accounts are very Mean Girls ‘you can’t sit with us!’

Considering it’s meant to be a ‘community’ 🙄 they are all very ME ME ME, and I don’t find them at all inspiring. It’s like they have lost the weight and they are so special because they have achieved it, not encouraging others to do so in an ‘if I can do it you can too’ way.

Snares saying he'll never return to a group and was bullied of out his consultant role....
View attachment 1768228
like that time he got his followers to bully me and try to hound me off of instagram by doxxing me?

I don't believe a word he says.

it was only a couple of weeks ago on restart 46,828282 that he said he'd joined a group out of his area where nobody knew him, why would that make him stop attending his own group?

As ever with him its all smoke and mirrors.

Maybe they called him out on the fact he wasn’t losing weight or a good role model…
Doubt it. They don't do that, thats why there is so many large consultants.

What probably did happen was his weight gain meant he was attracting less members, so making SW less money.
If you make less money as an SW consultant the managers start pressurising you to get more members and won't be as friendly as they were when you're profitable.

No one will have said snares you're large you need to leave or told him to lose weight.
It never happens, its all about profit. They wouldn't give a damn is a consultant was 30 stone as long as they made money.
