I think in general his act was considered sometimes derogatory to women (I’ve never seen any of his stuff so not sure if that is the case) but I heard on a podcast that during a chat with his audience he repeated a rape joke made by an audience member. That led to some comedians signing petitions against him and that is what eventually got him binned off by ITV2.
As I've said before, I think, I'd be somewhat interested to see what Taylor thinks of the Gaylors. I don't think she's ever addressed them directly.denise in particular has said some pretty honest (and maybe mean) things about what he was like as a child and how he “gave” her PND etc - i credit her honesty but i do wonder what it’s like for matty, as an adult, to hear so much about how his parents struggled with his existence. i’m no fan of his, but i do think that would do a number on you mentally. halsey wrote a song about him where she kinda discusses that (“you say your mother only smiles on her tv show” etc).
taylor deliberately courts and builds deep parasocial relationships with her fanbase though, so it doesn’t surprise me to see they’ve turned on joe so much for “not wanting to get married” or whatever. she is always the wronged party in her relationships, even though she almost certainly cheated on most of them (calvin with tom, joe with matty) and her fans like to ignore that whole thing where she was dating and borderline stalking a teenage boy
