One of my brothers loves Home and Away, and I caught it a few times when Chris was in it. Makes me laugh my head big time that he's become Mr Hollywood.
And Margot 'Donna off Neighbours' Robbie is the darling of Hollywood. Aussie rules!

Tbf, the Hollywood casting crew have good things to say about the Australian actors. Margot's work ethic endeared them and she often spoke about how Neighbours was a great training ground to prepare for a film career. Long hours, getting stuck in, socialising with cast and crew.

It's nice she hasn't forgotten her roots like certain other soap stars.

i don’t remember him in it much, i think i remember his brother more! it’s crazy how globally successful australian soap stars seems to become compared to any other countries’ soaps.

chris hemsworth must also surely be the most famous person to have done his country’s version of strictly come dancing. not that he was as famous as he is now when he did it!

i think they can’t win any which way tbh. if you’re honest and say you got your name in the door because of your parents everyone says “nepotism! alive and well!” if you say you didn’t (or auditioned under a fake name like john david washington did) everyone says “liar! why not just own it?!” at this point, i’m not sure what they’re supposed to do 🤣
I think JLC handled it relatively well to be honest. At least she has much more self-awareness than most of the others. Yes, I had a step up. Not owning your privilege is kind of a dick move towards your peers.

I know they are ( probably) not related but talk of West's and nepotism babies reminded me that Dominic West got his kids onto 2 of his acting jobs recently. His daughter was in Pursuit of Love (and he still managed to conduct an affair while filming that!) and his son was in The Crown. Its so blatant now people don't bother even hiding it. Kate Winslett is in a film with her daughter too!
If it’s that tv programme (? I am Rachel), I thought it was utter dross. I’m not saying Kate’s daughter can’t act, it was just an awful programme. I thought I was watching an episode of Ab Fab with all the ‘sweetie darlings’ that Kate kept uttering.

Currently watching Sam West now in All Creatures Great and small. He is terrific in it actually. I see his mother finally died today, a blessed relief really. Maybe Timothy West will now start acting again?
Prunella Scales isn’t dead. I’m lost. 🤔

Think you've got the wrong end of the stick. Prunella Scales is very much alive.

Plus, despite her dementia, her family might not think its a blessed relief.

I've worked with people either dementia for many years and many families are still devasted when their relative dies
Our family definitely thought that my mother had a blessed release. She always said that if she felt that she was losing her mind to dementia that she would take an overdose as she couldn't bear to be like the dementia patients in the local hospital when she did WRVS. She also told me that she was going to build up a stash of tablets but we never found it. The first stroke came too quickly. By the time she'd had several, she was just a shell. I lost my mother nine years before she died. My father would beg her to let go and die; he exclaimed to the nursing home that it would be considered cruelty to let a dog live like she did.

My nana had Vascular Dementia. My aunt's MIL had it for twenty years and just passed a month ago. So when my nana started showing signs... they went to the doctor but were all but ignored until one finally listened and set the wheels in motion. By then she was out of it more than she was lucid so it didn't take them long to diagnose. It was during a check-up that they found a tumor on her lung. If she had been fine, she probably would have noticed it sooner but as it was, it was too much of a risk to remove because she was in her 80s. We found out in January and she was gone by the end of March.

She had already had many health issues because of her stomach exploding a few years earlier which made my mother and her siblings swear that they would never put her in a home and they stuck to that no matter how hard it was. By the end when she finally passed, what got most of us through it was the fact that she wasn't the woman we knew anymore. Of course, it was heartbreaking but like with your experience, we lost her long before she died.

I genuinely can’t believe that there are ordinary working-class people who sent cold hard cash through the post to one on the richest families in the world.

Did they all think that they were hard-up for the funeral expenses? Or that the death of the 96-year-old came as an unexpected shock for which they hadn’t financially planned?

Idiots who walk among us.

Regardless of who the money was sent to who would send cash to someone in the post?

I wonder how much came in that way. What an odd thing to do,

Probably a small fortune.

And you just know there was some imbecile who put in a £20 B&M gift card, just in case Charles wanted to numb the pain with a few share packs of Maoam chewy sweets.

OFF TOPIC

I’m so sorry you went through that.
We are going through it now. My mother seems to have declined rapidly this month.
I don’t wish her dead but I know it would be a blessed release too.
With dementia there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
There is no cure.

We all think if we had dementia we’d “end it” ourselves but most people with dementia don’t realise they have it so it would not be an option.
It’s a cruel, undignified, soul destroying disease.
I know what awaits my mother and, forgive me, but I hope something else takes her quickly before we get to that stage.

I feel like Adrien Brody is a better catch than Hemsworth. Brody is interesting and looks like a suave French person and bought her a bleeping castle. Hemsworth seems like a boring meathead who cheats on her.

I know The Traitors has proved to be a popular program, but reading one of the contestants has quit their job to get into TV and educating people on dwarfism (she apparently did a documentary for Channel 4 before being on the show). I feel she's been ill advised, and be back home in a few months or desperate to be on any other reality tv show that will have her. I don't know why anyone in 2022/23 would be so quick to jump knowing how fickle fame is, especially for ex-reality tv contestants.

I don't actually care for any of the people involved but to see people still desperate to defend Tory Lanez when he's been found guilty in court of shooting Megan Thee Stallion is depressing. I feel really sorry for anyone enduring what Megan has and the bullying that's followed. People are so warped nowadays.
