He absolutely did have trouble - fortunately he wasn’t at the Old Vic in Kevin Spacey’s time but he knows others who were and had a terrible time that has affected them hugely. My son had a very promising start and a good run for a few years and spent time in the US making a pilot but had kind advice from Anthony Hopkins who told him that he was a good actor but to consider whether he was also a great waiter as that’s what most actors spend most time working as! He’s followed a different path and is very successful and has no regrets. II was lucky and had sound advice about investing well. I have a lovely house now, and I'm lucky to be mortage free.
