I’ve never thought any man that I’ve been with has been one bit bothered if my undies match. I’ve never been in the situation when getting down to it where I’ve been told “oh no your underwear isn’t up to scratch we better stop now”.

It's generally true that the people who are seemingly the most romantic and passionate couples, at least the ones who want to tell you they are, actually always end up separating.

I remember Dr. Miriam Stoppard saying very similar things years ago. Stoppard left her for Felicity Kendall.
Did Vanessa Feltz do the same?

I'm pretty good at spottting the stayers and keepers in couples, and big declarations of purple prose and lingerie advice are red flags.

Nick Knowles from DIY SOS and that lottery show

when I was in my first year at uni he slept with one of the girls I was in halls with. I can’t remember whether he was doing a PA or just happened to be out in town but she went back to his hotel with him. She was 18, he would have been early 40s. Thought nothing of it at the time as we all thought we were so grown up, but it seems so creepy in hindsight, even if legal.

Someone I know was loosely involved with one of his make overs. Apparently he was a total sleazebag. Always chatting up the young girls.I dont mean under age, I just mean anyone more mature wasnt honoured with his attention. He wasnt there alot and just swanned in and out and was there at the end to take the glory. It was an amazing make over and everyone was grateful but he isnt as involved in the process as he makes out.

My husband took part in a DIY SOS and he was the total opposite in our experience. On site every day, chatting to everyone, posing for photos when I brought our kids down etc. DH said to him I bet you get sick of being asked for photos all the time. He said how can I, these people are the reason we are all in a job and on tv. If I don’t take the time for them, theyll stop watching.
Ok he doesn’t get actively involved but he’s not got the skills and he admits that. On the last night they had a do in a local pub. My husband noticed he made sure he spoke to every single person to thank them.

I remember listening to Davina on a radio breakfast show when she was pregnant with her youngest (must have been Chris Moyles as it couldn’t have been Terry Wogan) and said she had to give her husband a son. It was said in jest but you could tell she meant it.

Agree. His marriage broke up due to his infidelity when his children were tiny. In an interview I saw a few years later he was boasting how hard he worked,too hard to see his kids. He hadn't seen them in months. He seemed to be proud of that. I know some people have to work away from hom from necessity, but Nick bleeedin' Knowles?

I saw Nick Knowles in the soft play part of Peppa Pig land. He was with his grown up son and probably his young child. He's not very tall which surprised me. Thrilling I know!!

I love that show so its nice to hear a polar opposite of my friends experience. She was so disappointed so maybe he was having an off day. Having said that the crew did an amazing job and his attitude did not detract from the whole day.

You'd think one of the fringe benefits of working for a celebrity chef would be that they'd maybe whip you up a little something for lunch or afternoon tea. Not so.

Someone who worked on a major project for James Martin was only ever offered Tunnocks Caramel Wafers and Diet Coke as refreshment – even during the frequent 10 hour days they had to pull.

The one time they did get to eat a proper meal at his house, it was prepared by Martin's own chef. But when they thanked the chef for the delicious meal, James butted in to say, "Yeah, but it's my recipe though."

He should have his own reality show. I,m getting major Alan Partridge vibes wafting off of him

Reading between the lines Davinas husband, (it's telling I don't even know his name, Matthew something?) couldn't cope with having her as the breadwinner.
Even now, people make stupid sexist remarks to such couples, and a lot of men's egos can't cope.
I bet he over -compensated by being head of house.
Didn't D say you sometimes had to have sex however knackered you are?
I think someone told me she was actually ok, but can't remember who it was!
She is annoying though.

He hated every part of their life being reported by her to the media despite her saying they were private. Mind you no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Things are never as they seem. Me too. The way she said that she liked him to be the "alpha" in the household and he just used to walk into the living room and turn the TV over to what he wanted to watch without asking...that doesn't sound too sinister I know, but I know that type of man

It’s these little things that often go unnoticed but could actually be a big red flag. Of course it could just be asshole behaviour as well but if they are so rude And disrespectful as to turn the tv over when you are watching something then it’s not beyond the realms that they will be assholes in other aspects too.

I had a friend a few years back who’s partner would want sex every day, and if he didnt get it he would just watch porn instead and made no secret of it to her. I got the impression she felt she ‘had’ to have sex with him most days even if she didn’t completely feel like it to keep him happy. Sex is great and all but I can’t imagine living like that, feeling obliged to do it every day no matter what. I never did like her partner for that reason it just seems so entitled. Sorry not gossip just an example of how demanding some people (usually men) can be when it comes to sex and how off putting it is.

I have been debating whether or not I should post this, as I was so young at the time, so please don’t judge me...
Ok. On my 19th birthday, I went up London with my friends to go on a pub crawl, and at the end of the night, very drunk, we ended up in a right dive of a “club” called Jacqueline’s. And there was a group of guys who we hooked up with, they were all good looking and sounded very posh !! Anyway, I was getting chatted up by one of the group, he was gorgeous, with dark blonde hair, and was making me laugh by doing silly karate moves on his mates.
Anyway, it was getting late, and some of my friends had left to get home, and some of the posh boys had also left, so it was just me, my best friend and the posh karate boy and his friend. So, we ended up going to an apartment that belonged to posh boys family....And, your girl Joanie ended up spending the weekend at this apartment with posh boy, his friend and my friend....
When we left to go home, we swapped numbers, and spoke on the phone a few times, but we never saw each other again...
So, who was my posh lover? His name was Guy Ritchie, and I never forgot him. Imagine my shock when he became famous!!...

I think she's a deeply insecure woman, she hated photoshoots and did not like looking at pictures of herself. She had a difficult relationship with her mother and obviously a well-known drug addiction in her youth. I think she's a people pleaser and clearly tried hard to be all things to Matthew, perhaps as she felt guilty as he felt emasculated being the primary carer for their children?

Anyway, that's pure speculation on my part. We never really know what goes on in other people's relationships.
