im a nurse in the UK so don’t know much about the Australian healthcare system but I’d tend to agree.Doctor here, just wanted to clear a few things up!
Most C sections are done with a spinal block (similar to epidural) and the mother is awake for the whole thing. Intubation would have meant something went wrong (or electively but I don’t think that would be the case, it’s pretty rare) and she wouldn’t have been extubated so quickly if something did go so wrong. It’s likely that she is just sick.
SCN at the hospital she’s at is only a level 3, *maybe* level 4 (out of 6 for full blown surgical NICU) so they can only provide very minimal supportive care, so it’s likely that the bub is fine. He would have been whisked away to another hospital if not. Maybe has an NG for feeding (minimal intervention and would explain why she’s only showing one side of his face) and that’s why he can come and go.
Regarding the beds, you’re all pretty much correct - the hospital isn’t hugely resourced but also isn’t terrible. My (unfounded but sneaking suspicion) theory is that she technically can’t visit SCN without a covid vaccine, and she’s sick so there’s no way they’re letting her in there. So she’s kicked up a stink and they’ve tolerated keeping her in as an inpatient/boarder while the baby is in SCN and are happy to bring the baby to her but not her to the nursery. It will be interesting to see if Kurt is there at all or he “has to stay home with Fox” conveniently because he isn’t vaccinated and can’t go back.
I don’t think that’s why she doesn’t want to share her vaccination status though… I think she just doesn’t want to be cancelled. I don’t think she deserves any credit for not being vaccinated and not telling her fans. One thing I’ve always thought though. If she’s keeping her unvaccinated status secret - surely this is a good thing ? Rather than spreading her misinformation and deliberately discouraging fans from taking the vaccine she is huts exercising her medical freedom but not pushing it on anyone else ? Idk, I think the way she’s handling not taking the vaccine is actually decent
Maybe come back in a few days when those behaviours are back then. I haven't been paying too much attention, but no one has actually said anything bad about the baby.. they just have questions. Sometimes I ask questions about crystal meth but it doesn't mean I'll take it.Some of these posts about a newborn baby are really off. Who cares if she shows half of his face or not, why she needs to stay in hospital, where Kurt is etc? If she showed his face you’d probably say she’s already exploiting him and that she should just not post and keep this as a private family moment. I personally have a huge issue with a RAFT of her behaviours such as ED book, her manipulative buying tactics, her spreading medical misinformation and her other predatory behaviour (all of which will come soon I’m sure), but not this. It’s fan behaviour and clogging up the thread IMO.
Public is definitely different. I don't have children but work in the public health system and they discharge you asap and they're so full. Even if baby is in NICU or SCU the mum will usually get discharged after a few days with baby still in hospital.I personally don’t think it sounds unusual. I was in hospital for 5 days with both my kids. My firstborn had a pneumothorax and needed monitoring in NICU. He was cleared on day 3 or 4 (can’t remember) and we left together on day 5. Second born had no issues and we stayed until discharge on day 5. I wanted to leave earlier, but was strongly advised by my OB and midwives to stay and get extra rest and time to bond with my newborn. I was at a private hospital both times, so not sure if that’s different to the public in terms of length of stay.
It’s probably likely that Sarah is trying to drum up engagement and sympathy by eluding to the fact that MKT has to stay for extra monitoring, whereas she is just staying the full time for bonding and rest
‘Surrender to the need to just lay quietly alone’What was inaccurate about the caption? Wasn’t it about changing birth plans and not experiencing guilt about it?
the ease with which she is moving around tells me she did not have a c-sectionAgreed, I would say c-section because even if baby has to stay then they still kick her out after 24hrs if vaginal birth in the public system
