I've just looked it up, says that he is.
I was hoping for something more interesting than boring old nepotism.

I'm still trying to fathom how to wash my bed linen and my late mother's been absolutely no bleeping use. FeeBee has not offered any guidance on the matter either. Is it known as “doing a Sali?”
You have confessed and now you are free
I definitely don’t wear enough linen
Her step dad being an influencial player in the writing industry is probably the main one
So while he's alive she has a job.I've just looked it up, says that he is.

Hallo! Yes it is called 'Actually Honest'. In homage to our former leader SH obvs.I believe there's a beauty thread somewhere on the forum of products that people like me (y'know, other skidmards ) genuinely like and think are good products.
Could someone direct me towards that thread please?
I can't remember which column caused a fuss in the Guardian comments section about the triviality or otherwise of beauty (it may have been an early "special") but she was fuming on GTL. Must have been 2011/12 and it was the first time I'd seen her really go on about how an interest in beauty was not at all trivial and how important beauty was in so many ways and the strength women gained from it.So many of of us here now. It is absolutely brilliant. Buying something SH recommended. Thought it was 'meh' at best or just tit but still thinking 'this must be my fault. I'm just not getting it but everyone else is'. So buy the next recommendation to see if things change.
All fed the mantra makeup is important and empowering. In Pretty Honest I was perusing earlier SH keeps using the term 'nerdy' re her interest in beauty. 'Now I might be a beauty nerd but...'. Now I think this is quite calculated. It implies something almost scientific and specialist. Quite niche. Justifying endless buying of 'stuff' because I'm a nerd. Makeup isn't trivial but very important and almost a science. Normalising 30 expensive lipsticks because 'I'm a beauty nerd. You wouldn't understand. And if you don't you just aren't as cool as me. But buy stuff and you might be!'.
I like makeup and wear it but ffs it isn't important. It just isn't.
All the more galling that they didn't ask her to sign that open letter.I've just looked it up, says that he is.

Probably thought everyone would go "They DIDN'T ASK YOU, India? YOU?"All the more galling that they didn't ask her to sign that open letter.
I'm still in awe that she thought a public whinge about not being asked was a good thing. The misplaced ego is hilarious.
Oh dear I vaguely remember that. (2011/2012 were her peak Dawn bullying years as well aka 'years and years ago'). I'm interested in beauty as are most here but it seems bizarre to fetishise it and use it as an excuse to buy masses of stuff. In Pretty Honest she says 'I own thousands of beauty products'. Now that isn't the norm is it? If the products she recommends are so good why on earth do you need thousands of anything? Why so many duplicates? All adding to that pesky landfill she is so concerned about.I can't remember which column caused a fuss in the Guardian comments section about the triviality or otherwise of beauty (it may have been an early "special") but she was fuming on GTL. Yikes!First I tried to plug it into a converter plug and managed to blow the fuse box.
Oh how we laughed.
agreed, this whole.industry reminds me of tbe absurd ads I keep seeing atm implying that "shapeware" is feministYes 'insecurities' is such a good word in this context. A lot of beauty preys on women's insecurities. Influencers like SH appear to be helping women - and then they point out something you didn't actually realise was a problem but hey! guess what! You can buy something for that! Or just get a 'tweakment!'
(But don't even mildly question this obviously or you are a troll).
Search on twitter for IK's @ + Malala - interesting. Though probably belongs on th IK thread. Apologies if I"m repeating stuff already discussed. All the more galling that they didn't ask her to sign that open letter.

Does anyone remember the Wither Dafur years?I can't remember which column caused a fuss in the Guardian comments section about the triviality or otherwise of beauty (it may have been an early "special") but she was fuming on GTL. Yeah, that's what led me to search. I'm going to stick my neck out here and say these people are a little bit odd.IK or a minion has done a vast delete session - she's down to about 350 tweets. I got the gist from Google though. Oy.
