I just went for a nosey and it really does - some bits of the hair are so yellow, it’s very strange! She’s live right now about her skin condition and
her makeup / hair combo looks really off.

Get over there! It’s in Talk > Style & Beauty. Or you can search for Sali and limit dates to this week.I need more mumsnet screenshots! Inject them directly into my veinzzzzz!
older pic? No wee soft fringe there?
At the risk of repeating what you’ve likely already heard... I think (having gone through it) those can all be peri/meno symptoms, so if you are surgically meno without HRT then that could be a factor?I'm still trying to figure out the cause of my hair loss, fatigue, and aching joints/muscles. My iron came back normal (after being seriously anemic last year), but my ferritin was still low, so I'm trying heme iron supplements. They ruled out autoimmune and celiac
Bloody good point!!Haven't read it yet - do horrible trolls get a mention?
ETA - read it and sadly no.
That really is a very unflattering after photo. Her hair doesn't look grey there but sort of yellowy.
And I still fail to understand her revulsion for a few grey hairs. Hardly empowering getting older is it? Having to undergo such a massive change to make a huge statement to hide how actually grey she was (not very).
I'm not making myself clear as really I don't care about Sali's hair, but it isn't the hugely empowering and embracing age gesture she implies.
She now can tediously make herself a spokesperson for aging whilst again never mentioning the tweakments or Botox. We've never had a video or Vogue article about that have we?
You're right about vanilla ice cream, that's the theory! I've no idea about mint though and how that evolved into a blue green.I always sort of assumed vanilla was named because of the colour of vanilla ice cream? I am a pleb though.
I always loved the old paintbox colours though, stuff like Blue Lake etc and some of those would get sniped at now. But they were very evocative. My late grandad gave me a load of little bottles of paints from the 60s when I was a teenager and I would just sit and read the names in wonder.
Do you not find it a bit hard to spread? It's sort of like peanut butter on fresh bread on my faceSlight interjection here. Just wanted to than @Aude - I think it was you who suggested the Australian Gold tinted SPF? It’s absolutely brilliant, either under makeup or on its own. Plus huge tube. Excellent recommendation![]()
I’m not sure that ever stops us, or should. It’s no worse than anything else we’ve said is it?She willuse that against here even though she puts it all out there herself etc
Yep, I like her tooI really like Alexa Chung too, I find her really funny. And effortlessly cool and stylish. And very natural in front of the camera chatting to people, and is engaging and enthusiastic! Theres a girl that rocks a Breton!
That’s a big decision, kudos to her for keeping in there until 5am because I bet she caved. Men like that never give in.This is so funny! It reminds me so much of someone I used to work with. I'd met her husband a few times and found him unlikeable and extremely argumentative. Anyway she came in one morning absolutely shattered and said they had a rule never to sleep on an argument (it's an age old rule and makes sense in theory!) So they stayed up arguing until 5am - over which school to send their 5 year old to![]()
I’ve taken one for the team and listened to Sali’s Maintenance Shag podcast. The hosts wang on for over eight long minutes before cutting to the interview with Sali. Apparently, “Not only is she a brilliant writer, she’s a brilliant thinker”. Sali actually makes some (to me) good points and sounds OK, more like I used to think she was (if that makes sense). And some dodgier statements too, as expected. Made in 2018, I think.View attachment 594843
I read this article on The Pool at the time, I didn't realise she'd revisited it elsewhere.
How unfortunate![]()
Have you tried upping protein in your diet. I’ve found it’s really helped with the symptoms you describe in the last few months. Supplement with powder protein collagen and aim for 60g a day between food and the supplement. Michael Douglas the hairdresser had a very informative live in his IG with a hair loss specialist specialist a few months ago and she talked at length about aiming at that amount of protein for hair health. I find my joints and overall energy much better too.Yeah, I am on HRT. But if everything else checks out, I guess this might be just my new normal
ok that's good. I'm glad that my GP is very open to suggestions. He ordered the blood test immediately and added things I suggested to the list of tests. Then again I pay for every test so he does not have to keep within a strict budget. Does your gyn say why she is reluctant to order tests? I mean they're fairly straightforward and don't cost that much in comparison...Yes, thyroid was in normal range (but not optimal). I'm not sure about my D. I do supplement
they're really nice lipsticks. I got three before Christmas. They have a very satisfying click.I am still fighting with myself over getting one. This is ridiculous, it's lipstick, not life or death!
I think that’s her MO, nothing ever seems organic, very staged usually bordering on awkward.Looks like very forced faux nonchalance.
