Apparently CT is a horrific bully. Calling staff c*nts in meetings etc. High turnover and awful working conditions. Nepotism. Lots of claims of having to be on call 24/7 and being tested and tricked just to be humiliated in front of peers. Being hired based purely on looks. Chaos at every level of the business. Look up the Estee Laundry account on IG.

Oh and Sali is in CT’s pocket so has deflected any mention of these accusations. Odd for someone who is so anti bullying and so big on empowering female friendships. Oh wait, it’s all bullshit and she’s really a greedy, shallow money grabbing cow.
Thank you, HowardMoon.

I hadn’t heard any of these allegations before. If they’re true and Sali is aware of Charlotte’s treatment of staff, it’s despicable that she endorses her.

I’m never going to buy anything with Tilbury's name on it again.

Both very calmly said trolling is awful but that SH specifically zoned in on how reprehensible it is for people to discuss children/parenting

Esther said that she herself has had a bit of a campaign against her about her parenting which was launched by SH.

She also mentioned that the editor who commissioned and printed the piece she wrote was never targeted by SH as she is a friend and powerful in the industry.

Giles said same. Then both went down and Giles posted saying his wife is a nice guy and wants him to take it down as sali is clearly having a bad day.

She seems pretty nice. Very self aware.

Wow. I have to say for my first introduction to her being this whole mess...it’s not a good one. Man is she not a nice person. [emoji51]

I still don’t understand why SH kept on saying that her children were being mentioned/attacked/trolled. Nothing of the sort happened. How old are her children?

Same here...!!!

Esther came on and said she saw Sali’s video and respected what she had to say but was also confused because of her own personal experience with Sali.

Late last year, Sali publicly blasted her for an article Esther wrote where she said dressing nice is good manners. That while she doesn’t like wearing makeup every day, she started to feel brushing her hair and putting her makeup on for events was a matter of respect for those around her and good manners.

(Esther acknowledged she maybe could have explained her point better.)

Sali apparently lost her tit over it and went on a twitter rant, saying that she feels bad for Esther’s children for having such a mother yadda yadda and DUG IN on it. She wouldn’t let it go.

Giles is married to Esther and hopped on to say he won’t say how he really feels out of respect for his wife Esther, who didn’t want to drag Sali. But he reiterated the pain it caused Esther to be lambasted as a bad mother by Sali...whose followers also joined in in attacking her.

I will be very surprised if something comes from this. Sali said in a comment she has 100s of pages in folders and posters details and knows where they're located. That in itself seems a bit insane.

You can't police people. We do not live in North Korea. We are allowed opinions and freedom of speech. As far as I know, no one has threatened her or her family or done anything illegal.

Thank you for the explanation - poor Esther and Giles! I had never heard of her before Estee Laundry’s insta stories, but having seen read this thread and seen how blunt SH’s replies are on Instagram/Twitter (even to people being lovely to her!) I’m not seeing her in the best light.

She’s also said that her family read her the edited highlights. It’s definitely the Estee Laundry site post that has made her kick off.
Estee Laundry are getting quite a lot of criticism in the comments on their most recent post. It’s a post from a few days ago but some people have taken up the cause there.

If anyone were to answer that, even with approximate guesses or from stuff she had stupidly put in the public domain that can be accessed via wholly legal means (paraphrasing but y'know) we would STILL be discussing her children on this vile site despite what she's been through.

Are we in a parallel universe? I haven't seen anyone doing this today.

Sorry, that doesn't really give the context.

Don’t forget the part where she said the site was called ihatesalihughes.com with her tongue firmly in her cheek.

Well, I have to say that I FOUND MY PEOPLE!! 🙌

Some context:
This morning I saw on my Twitter timeline that someone I follow liked "that" tweet from Sali, the one directing to her Instagram video. Clicking through that tweet I saw her mention of this site and came here and maaaaaaannn, I wasn't disappointed :D
I didn't read every single post of the three threads because it's nearly 3000 posts and I rushed though them, I wanted to know as much as I could about the people who were inflicting suffering on poor little Sal' *cackles*

Some history:
I used to belong to her GTL FB group and when it was closed I moved to her website forum along everyone who did it too. And what happened you may ask? I was bullied twice, once in the FB group and the second time in the forum, not only by the people who had I had a different opinion from but alas, Sali herself. I decided that I wasn't going to be bullied a third time and just left. Why was I bullied? Because I obviously dared to have a different opinion to the majority of people on both discussions. I am absolutely not surprised to find so many ex GTLers and ex Forumites here as I refused to feel the odd one out, deep down I knew that there should be more people like me around.

I have never read the forum since I left but I carried on reading her column on the Guardian mostly out of curiosity. I started noticing a shift in the comments a while ago when people genuinely began asking her why she had stopped making videos and started making columns - ie. badly disguised paid for ads - about products. The kickstart point if I'm not wrong was the column about the 40 quid shower cap where the shower cap "inventor" (bwahahaha) came BTL to defend good ol' Sal who was being roasted about recommending a shower cap that cost 40 English pounds and practically gave the game away that such column was a paid post. I relished, yes, I bloody did.
The comments started getting more and more inquisitive and I'm sure she has a list of posters' names she doesn't want their comments posted as I tried to post many times - nothing aggressive - and the comment was never published. Please note that I never had a problem with my comments in any other section of the Guardian.

I am ashamed to say that I was once her admirer but after a while I could see her for what she really is: a glorified make up artist. She calling herself a journalist is an affront to real journalists. She basically uses flowered up language to talk about lipstick. Who exactly does she think she is? The Keats of Foundation? The Shakespeare of Eye Shadow? Her writing is pitiful, vacuous, empty. What she is though, is a basic sales person. Had she never met the right connections and charmed her way through her "career" she would be at a counter selling her beloved Bobbi Brown stuff.

Going through these threads I learned so much more stuff that actually confirmed my point of view: the clique, the bullying, the double standards when it comes to female friendships, that she married a Tory while being a "leftie" (the champagne socialist stuff is pretty galling). Her website completely tanked, I had a look today and no new posts for years, no wonder she's returning to Facebook where she can flog stuff for free while being paid for it. I flicked through her books in a bookshop and I can't believe anybody in their sane mind would buy that crap. If you compare and contrast to the book Lisa Eldrige wrote, about the history of make up, her efforts are laughable.

She has no discernible talent and like the saying goes, you can fool some people for a while but not everyone all the time. Today is probably the first column ever that had no comments section BTL. Her desperation in her video saying that she had legal advice - DID SHE BOLLOCKS - is hilarious! I don't want to give away too much but unless she's receiving rape/death threats or serious and repetitive abuse she can do zilch about it. She is annoyed and scared because people started seeing her for what she really is, a big fraud. Someone who does paid posts for scrunchies and shower caps. Someone who's bitter because she wasn't at the Victoria Beckham make up launch. Someone who can't write something insightful to save her life. Someone who's incredibly jealous of talented people like Lisa Eldrige and associates herself with likewise shits like Botox Tilbury.

She's going to regret her video because I could see this site got a LOT of new posters, me included, because of her own stupidity in publicising it. This whole omnishambles should be a warning to her, she should take a step back and ask herself why so many people are taking a stand against her. This should be an opportunity to stop, think and learn. Unfortunately, she's too conceited, arrogant and vain to admit that she was ever wrong. Her world is about to come crashing down on her and I am going to watch it with my very large G&T in one hand and my phone in the other.

PS: I'm so sorry about the long post but I had never spoken to anyone about the bullying I suffered from Sali and her cronies, I bottled everything up. This is the first time and I feel so relieved.

Welcome! Sorry that you were bullied in that group. Seems Sali isn't as innocent as she makes out.

And all of the legal talk is to scare people. Hell, years ago TalkTalk were charging me for a service I never got and then sent bailiffs on me for literally nothing. They were meant to send an engineer out to install a line for my internet and never did, yet charged me for the internet when I didn't even have it. I wrote them a stiff letter saying I had gotten legal advise and if they didn't stop charging me for a service I didn't receive, I would take them to court. Had I gotten legal advice? No. But did it scare Talk Talk enough to get their tit together? Yes. They stopped charging me.

Welcome! Thank you for sharing your story. I had not heard of Sali before today but after seeing the way she sharply responds to people it’s pretty telling of her nature. Unless they’re offering flowery praise she’s quite rude. I get that she’s heated, I get that she’s emotional...but she’s a public figure and should watch how she conducts herself publicly.

And no, Sali if you’re reading here, I’m not calling you a public figure just because you have an Instagram account. I’m calling you a public figure because you’re a “journalist” who publicly publishes articles, videos, etc for the public to consume.

It is funny as I really liked Sali and had never read her thread until she posted the video. I even felt bad for her hearing what she was saying was shared here. It surprised me as I've been on Tattle for ages and not seen much trolling at all, if any, compared to guru gossip. This thread sure has opened my eyes though.

Exactly. Fake as duck

Welsh is a strong accent to shake. It would take daily effort for a long time I’d imagine. I heard she’s a Welsh speaker too (not sure of that myself) which would make her accent more intense to begin with if true.
She went to Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni so yes, she would speak Welsh.
