In her defence i know someone who went there and has lived in England for 10 plus years and who sounds very much like Sali and not valleys like at all. Not that you're talking about her accent I just haven't gone back further to quote.
Well how amusing. I have gone off Sali in recent months but never posted anything negative about her (well not really), and then saw a comment by the stroppy Caroline Hirons that piqued my interest. Checked out the instagram video and thought "ooh how awful!" - then came on here. So a really good advert for Tattle Life. Having looked at a lot of the posts I think I must be missing something? She was shaking with anger on the video and possibly rightly so if what she said was true, but I cannot see evidence of some of the things she was talking about. Surely there must be something else or why would she post that video? Sali has always been someone who does not like to be contradicted. Disagree at your peril. I remember her discussing children staying with the other parent at Christmas (some article) and her saying it was really not so bad etc and I commented that her relationship must be quite amicable then if she was so calm and ok about it. She responded that I should not assume anything and basically got on her high horse indicating that she was a more evolved human being because she could rise above things and do what was best for the children etc etc, when I had not said anything about my own life or what I do for my children. I just thought "what a sanctimonious witch who loves the sound of her own droning voice". I have met a lot of women like her in my working life and it is all a front. I also remember some In the Bathroom video that a lot of people slated for being like an ad (possibly Rose Huntingdon Whitely one) and all the negative comments got deleted and her assistant Lauren got pissy with people for daring to criticise La Hughes. They are all the same.
Well apparently she has gained over 23k followers since posting that video

it's like.suddenly she has thought "omg nedx go be relatable, must talk about something cheaper than usual"A lot of writers don't like comment sections and understandably dislike the fact that so much content is available and expected for free. Are people entitled to make a living from their chosen profession? Is it reasonable for people to expect payment for creating content? If they diversify because print media is offering fewer opportunities and take some of their readership with them should they be subject to scrutiny? Is there a conflict of interest in recommending, for example, an expensive hairdryer which carries the brand name of the salon which gives you complimentary cuts and blow dries? How far can insisting you are honest (with the implication that that makes you unique in your industry) take you? And then socialising and working with blogger/vlogger peers who you started out insisting you were so different from. I'm not going to go on too much about Botox again but it's the thing that I've seen commented on most by those that haven't imbibed the KoolAid. And, lastly, because it's been amusing me all day (though I appreciate others may remain unmoved by it) what makes a toaster a kitchen toaster apart from word count and where the duck else in their homes does anyone have a toaster?
Their reactions were so much more mature than Sali’s. They were merely pointing out Sali’s hypocrisy and it needed doing. I’m not sure how many of her fawning followers saw their videos as they weren’t up for long but it’s a start. Also, Esther replied to me via DM and was so interested and concerned about the CT bullying thing. How professional and such a different reaction to Sali who couldn’t care less as CT pays her. She’s an utter sell out but never stops banging on about her ‘honesty’. Yeah, right

Some context:
This morning I saw on my Twitter timeline that someone I follow liked "that" tweet from Sali, the one directing to her Instagram video. Clicking through that tweet I saw her mention of this site and came here and maaaaaaannn, I wasn't disappointed
I didn't read every single post of the three threads because it's nearly 3000 posts and I rushed though them, I wanted to know as much as I could about the people who were inflicting suffering on poor little Sal' *cackles*
Some history:
I used to belong to her GTL FB group and when it was closed I moved to her website forum along everyone who did it too. And what happened you may ask? I was bullied twice, once in the FB group and the second time in the forum, not only by the people who had I had a different opinion from but alas, Sali herself. I decided that I wasn't going to be bullied a third time and just left. Why was I bullied? Because I obviously dared to have a different opinion to the majority of people on both discussions. I am absolutely not surprised to find so many ex GTLers and ex Forumites here as I refused to feel the odd one out, deep down I knew that there should be more people like me around.
I have never read the forum since I left but I carried on reading her column on the Guardian mostly out of curiosity. I started noticing a shift in the comments a while ago when people genuinely began asking her why she had stopped making videos and started making columns - ie. badly disguised paid for ads - about products. The kickstart point if I'm not wrong was the column about the 40 quid shower cap where the shower cap "inventor" (bwahahaha) came BTL to defend good ol' Sal who was being roasted about recommending a shower cap that cost 40 English pounds and practically gave the game away that such column was a paid post. I relished, yes, I bloody did.
The comments started getting more and more inquisitive and I'm sure she has a list of posters' names she doesn't want their comments posted as I tried to post many times - nothing aggressive - and the comment was never published. Please note that I never had a problem with my comments in any other section of the Guardian.
I am ashamed to say that I was once her admirer but after a while I could see her for what she really is: a glorified make up artist. She calling herself a journalist is an affront to real journalists. She basically uses flowered up language to talk about lipstick. Who exactly does she think she is? The Keats of Foundation? The Shakespeare of Eye Shadow? Her writing is pitiful, vacuous, empty. What she is though, is a basic sales person. Had she never met the right connections and charmed her way through her "career" she would be at a counter selling her beloved Bobbi Brown stuff.
Going through these threads I learned so much more stuff that actually confirmed my point of view: the clique, the bullying, the double standards when it comes to female friendships, that she married a Tory while being a "leftie" (the champagne socialist stuff is pretty galling). Her website completely tanked, I had a look today and no new posts for years, no wonder she's returning to Facebook where she can flog stuff for free while being paid for it. I flicked through her books in a bookshop and I can't believe anybody in their sane mind would buy that crap. If you compare and contrast to the book Lisa Eldrige wrote, about the history of make up, her efforts are laughable.
She has no discernible talent and like the saying goes, you can fool some people for a while but not everyone all the time. Today is probably the first column ever that had no comments section BTL. Her desperation in her video saying that she had legal advice - DID SHE BOLLOCKS - is hilarious! I don't want to give away too much but unless she's receiving rape/death threats or serious and repetitive abuse she can do zilch about it. She is annoyed and scared because people started seeing her for what she really is, a big fraud. Someone who does paid posts for scrunchies and shower caps. Someone who's bitter because she wasn't at the Victoria Beckham make up launch. Someone who can't write something insightful to save her life. Someone who's incredibly jealous of talented people like Lisa Eldrige and associates herself with likewise shits like Botox Tilbury.
She's going to regret her video because I could see this site got a LOT of new posters, me included, because of her own stupidity in publicising it. This whole omnishambles should be a warning to her, she should take a step back and ask herself why so many people are taking a stand against her. This should be an opportunity to stop, think and learn. Unfortunately, she's too conceited, arrogant and vain to admit that she was ever wrong. Her world is about to come crashing down on her and I am going to watch it with my very large G&T in one hand and my phone in the other.
PS: I'm so sorry about the long post but I had never spoken to anyone about the bullying I suffered from Sali and her cronies, I bottled everything up. This is the first time and I feel so relieved.

So I have just spent the last hour catching up pn this thread (sorry for the deluge of comments lol) what has actualy shocked me most is people coming to her defence without even verifying what she claims, even fellow jounalists, does noone fact check anymore?! the only people that seem to have come here to check are people who are/were fans
Yes he was as his wife was bullied by Sali very publicly. I think people on here said in a tongue in cheek way that Sali’s husband was unattractive and that Giles was fitter basically. Not sure if her husband was actually called a ‘chubby no mark’ or a ‘podgy non entity’ exactly though
Now that Sali's piss has been taken off the hob, it's safe to assume a few things:
- There will be no Internet SAS team plucking Tattlers out of their beds whilst they sleep
- She does not know the locations of most Tattlers (pure willy-waving online to intimidate)
- India and Eric will not be slashing anyone's tyres
- Caitlin Moran is a dick (knew that anyway)
- Giles Coren was *really* holding back
- New members who took their time to read through and ascertain Sali's plight was a huge overreaction
- Sali has claimed on Twitter that getting things for free to review makes you less biased vs paying for a product. OKAY THEN

I’m sure it takes a bit of effort to acquire a new accent but it will happen organically too to a degree. My dad’s entire family are from the Rhondda Valleys and the accent is pretty distinctive. Mine is a West Wales accent and in fairness more the stereotypical Welsh accent but I couldn’t never shake it. I’m sure Sali doesn’t miss hers is all I’m saying
