This is far from a crappy product. Dakota is a poet and an artist and Ruby probably doesn't understand anything in the book, because it's about Dakota's life and feelings. But unlike Ruby, she's living a very full life, she's very passionate about her writing and reading. She reads smaller books mostly, doesn't rush them, truly savours them. She calls herself a hedonist and I feel like Ruby would have insulted her and called her something a lady shouldn't be called because of her kind of bohemian lifestyle of savouring every moment, drinking and really living life to the fullest. If anything, she must be terribly jealous of Dakota, because she's so successful with her work.
Nahhh, Dakota Warren is just as pretentious and untalented as Ruby 🤣 and her poetry is also rit, if not rit-r.
They’re basically the same jarring, middle class person, except for the fact that Dakota has a serious problem with booze.

Omg the enthusiasm showing off her OOTD. She's like my 8 and 10year old grandaughters when I ask them to try on their Primark haul! Bit more enthusiasm please Ruby.

Yeahhh, have to agree to disagree with you about the poetry. All art's subjective, but all I get from the poems of hers available online is the same pretentious Rupi Kaur-esque 'I'm just gonna garble the formatting and bang the enter key randomly and hope that makes this random collection of laboured adjectives interesting' nonsense that Ruby herself churns out.

I haven't seen a lot of Dakota's content, but from what I've seen, she seems just as fake, pretentious and performative as Ruby, they're just coming at it from different angles. One's trying to be so dark and edgy while cosplaying as Sabrina Spellman, the other trying to be so innocent and childlike while dressed as Anne Shirley.

Dakota Warren is kinda like a cringe mix of Ruby, Marfa and Lana Del Rey. Just my opinion. Make of it what you will.

How exactly is Dakota successful? She has no literary prestige at all, she’s just a crappy youtuber who published a crappy YouTuber book

Judging by the poem Ruby shared on her Instargram story today, Dakota’s poetry is nothing to shout home about. Didn’t understand a word of it. Really hate the trend of “poems” that are just overly descriptive nonsense. “White cotton ichor of a godless sky” Christ on a proverbial bike

I have to agree. All that to say I ran my fingers through the air and the moonlight coming in through the window. I find it a lot more pretentious than Erimentha, while annoying, stuck up, teacher-hero placenta-slaying Erimentha resembles Ruby, I feel Dakota is putting up a personna and hoping it will suddenly happen to the whole of her life. She seems so strange in what she's trying to portray. But anyway...

I don't know if this was posted before, but Exeter Uni posted a video of Blakeney talking about her career opportunities while at uni and it feels like just endless unintentional (?) Ruby shade.

She points out that school Head Girl positions are mostly empty positions that mean nothing, especially after high school, while Ruby has that highlighted as a major accomplishment on her CV. She also warns against wasting all of your free time at uni if you're lucky to have it when you could broaden your skillset and build your work experience - all tit Ruby avoided in favour of wasting all her time and having nothing to show for it.

She's also so much more composed, charismatic and coherent than Ruby has ever been on camera. Her responses are unscripted and there are no cuts during each answer and she can still speak eloquently and succinctly, whereas Ruby can't get through a single sentence without 78 cuts, mumbling utter babbling nonsense, mangling the English language or falling over her words constantly, even with cue cards.

She also got a short story published by Exeter Uni's Creative Writing Society literary journal and it's really good. Meanwhile Ruby desperately tried to get her poems and stories published anywhere she could and nobody wanted them. Oh dear.

Maybe there's some misunderstanding from me but isn't "school head girl" like a délégué ( for french students)... Who put that in their CV ? Genuinely curious, it doesn't feel important at all.

I definitely wouldn't put that on. You may as well put what Girl Guide badges you one or your swimming certificates. None of the above are relevant for a CV. Much as I think her YT vids are pretty dull, half-arsed and lacking creativity I can see that on paper her YT channel, Instagram & TT might be good to include on her CV. I fear, however, a prospective employer might take a look though and wonder who this individual is? Words like aesthetic, wholesome, introvert, long study day might not necessarily work well. Might be read as can't work at a hot desk, prudish, unsociable and manages time poorly. Actions like running through the garden, living in childhood bedroom, posing in a wanna-be school uniform might just come off as rather juvenile. On reflection best stick with the head girl thing - haha

Why are flowers/hats chiming? Who is happy to find milk just puddled on the ground in a barley field, much less drink it to find that it's warm and sweet?

Will Ruby ever write a new incoherent poem that isn't about whatever flower, bird and/or weather condition she saw that day?

Before I applied I remember the uni doing a lot of marketing work with Ruby, then there was a backlash where current students said Ruby isn't representative of them at all and no one is going to apply to Exeter because of Ruby 🤣 Then they stopped working with her when she was in her second year if I remember correctly.

Yeah, plus she was always going to be talking about AXATAR on her channel and social media non-stop and advertising it for free while she was there, so it was just a senseless waste of money all around.

If I was the University of Exeter, I would've paid her money to stop talking about Exeter on her channel tbh. I mean, everything she showed gave the impression that she had an absolutely miserable time during those four years tbh.

Ruby's attempt at writing poetry like Emily Dickinson is ridiculous. Dickinson's works were so unique; her fragmented style of slant rhyme and conceits wove themselves into a stunning cohesive thought. No one else wrote like her, no one ever will. She saw the world in a different way and knew how to master language to express her vision. She would have laughed at Ruby wasting time on social media, prancing through fields, matching books to outfits and a thousand more of her foolish behaviors. Dickinson took her solitary, hermit-like time seriously to expand her knowledge and constantly write. She had genius. Ruby is just some stupid adult woman trying on various characters, hoping one will click and she will finally "find herself". This won't happen. She'll be playing at this lonely, futile game for life. She continues to make the same mistakes with her writing. Surely editors and professors over the years have given her some useful tips about not being flowery or trying to mimic other authors, yet she seems to have ignored them all and is continually writing trash. I mean, what the heck is milk doing hanging around in the dryad fields? No cows or goats to be seen grazing about? lol That milk, just floating in the fields, is going to be pretty sour by the end of the afternoon, when day tightens up again! Yikes!

Except for all the "um's" she is a very well spoken, confident young lady who seems to have a goal in view and has thought quite seriously about everything she needs to prepare and do for a job. Ruby can't hold a candle to her. There is so much more to Blakeney than we ever knew and Ruby never spoke a word about them. No wonder Ruby latched on to her. She is probably her idol!

100%. She spent four years studying at one of the prettiest and greenest campuses in the country, and in a small city with so much nature around it, but the only picturesque location she ever showed was Reed Hall. And that was only because you have to walk past it to get to campus from the accom she lived in in first year. If she lived on the Lafrowda/East Park side of campus then I'm sure she would've spent the whole four years oblivious to its existence. I bet a new student during freshers would have more knowledge and be better qualified to try to promote Exeter than she was. The fact she can endure such a mundane existence is scary.
