I hate to say it but most UK universities have fuck all in terms of MH support. I have a sibling at Exeter and their support is almost non-existent, I went to Birmingham and they got rid of their full time paid counsellors yet paid our VC one of the highest salaries in the country, for him doing nothing but sitting around being homophobic.

Everyone should go to therapy, and if you have the means to get it privately and don't use it, you're an idiot.

The annoying thing about all this is, knowing Ruby, she'll probably get a good grade. But honestly if after 7+ drafts you aren't getting a first, I'd be concerned. At some point you've got to weigh up your mental state vs your work, sometimes the potential for a few extra marks just aren't worth the stress.

She literally opened the book just to place it facing down on the bed. That book hasn't been opened or read.
I'm awaiting the inevitable 4-5 stars on Goodreads, either with no review at all, or a pointlessly vague one that repeats the pull-quotes she was handed at the screening and confirms that she didn't read it:

"Anyone who knows me knows I don't usually read graphic novels but I loved this so, so much! It's groundbreaking, honest, authentic and moving - but also joyful and fun! I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone! Also check out the TV show which is one of my most favourite series! (4 stars)"

I only skipped through it but that video seems so much more dynamic and normal than her current "I got up and did this for forty minutes, then I went to the library for fifteen minutes, then I went to a cafe for twenty minutes, then I went home for half an hour, then I walked to trampolining and stayed for thirty five minutes, then I washed up for ten minutes".

Sixteenth "talent" chosen to be embassadors for United World Schools' gala for girls' education. Ruby, whose entire brand has been focused on studying and academia, and who exclusively associates with girl students, is conspicuously absent.

Did she refuse to get involved because this is a charity drive in which she'd have no opportunity to keep the money (like the Ukraine charity fundraiser that she had to be dragged kicking and screaming to do anything for, and even then it was the bare minimum and she looked miserable throughout)? Or have Sixteenth gotten smart enough to keep her far away from any future charity arrangements?

(Also hilarious: She still can't figure out how or when to use emojis, so just duplicated Jade's.)
Why does Jade's grimace looks like she's taken a large dump?

Honestly, what is the point in any of these videos? It's so obvious she isn't getting any enjoyment out of it. All they do is promote toxic productivity and pointless busywork, and Ruby is in so deep that I'm sure she would defend them til her last breath. The only answer can be the money and/or pressure from management.

Take. A. Break. Step away from social media. Discover who you are without it, work on yourself. If she's really taking a gap year next year, the best thing she could ever do is figure out who she is outside of academia and social media and actually reach a physically and mentally healthy space.

It's tough having such a public, prominent social media presence at a young age in ways you don't even realise when you're right in the middle of it. You get stuck in the place you first became or well-known or experienced success. The answer, however, isn't to throw yourself even further into the black hole; the answer is to find peace outside of the Internet, to not tie your entire self-worth and being into it.

take a break, Ruby, please! It's the best thing you will ever do!

I remember when she first posted about her dissertation and I thought she would do video series about it e.g writing my final draft Vlog - but she hasn’t done anything like it

I know people are mostly interested in seeing what she'll do next year, but I'm more interested in what she'll do between now and graduation (don't know when that usually is in the UK). I hope she doesn't keep on pretending to "study" on Instagram :/

Do you think she speaks in her natural way of speaking in interviews or in her bizarre neologistic accent? Oxford interviewers pull no punches and I’d like to be one of her dead flys on the wall/windowsill as they ask her for more depth and analytic thinking.

I wonder what she'll do if her final mark is significantly lower than what she might have expected. Given the apparent state of her dissertation a few days before the deadline, I can't help but wonder how she would react to a really disappointing result. Would there be a teary-eyed confession video or maybe something like "why university might not be the right choice for you"? Or would she actively try to dispute it with her supervisors? I'm not familiar with UK undergrad study so I'm wildly speculative here! Afaik she'd need to finish with a 2:1 at the very least to be considered for an Oxbridge MSt or MLitt programme

She still had referencing left to do?? Isn't it due really soon? That's not very organised or dark macademia of her :(

Aw look, he's your profile pic. I don't like how he's watching me. 😅

Lol

Also love how in the book review she said 'this is more of a Commonplace Book'. I thought she was saying the book was nothing special, but Googled and found that a commonplace book is an actual thing. Well, I've learned something today.
He is watching us all

Before you get wild notions that Ruberoy has been learning new words in a grown-up book, commonplace books feature heavily in Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events.

Anyone else just really eager to find out Ruby's final grade at this point considering everything she has shared with us just makes it all seem like a shitshow?
Maybe I'm being cynical but I doubt we will find out the real grade. Whatever she gets she will tell us its a first, 115% or something realistic...

To make a rare appearance just to reply to 'allthemyths's post on the other page.. That's exactly why I've decided to stop following Ruby on any social media platform. Over the last few months she's become extremely triggering for me and I've finally admitted to myself that she is triggering for me. I am ED recovered but I still struggle every now and then. Watching her content and her shrinking figure has not helped me with all the other stresses that I'm currently dealing with at home. It's a shame and I really hope her parents step up and get her the help she needs before she's too deep into an ED.

My Italian soul just left my body and my ancestors are rolling in their graves.

What the actual f is this. Why is the garlic just chilling. Why does it almost look raw. What is that basic bitch bread. Why.
Foreigners always think Italians consume ungodly amounts of garlic and Italian food in other countries always has so much garlic in it but in reality we don't actually use it that much lol and we certainly don't eat it like this
