To be fair Jamie Oliver does this too I've seen a number of his videos where he suggests rubbing garlic on the bread to give it a garlic taste. Never done it myself but it must work if Jamie Oliver does it!
I might be the weird one but I grew up eating garlic toast made this way. If you toast the bread, it can work as a grater when you rub the garlic on it, then you put some butter or olive oil on it and you got a quick garlic bread.

Wow I was looking at that wondering which thing looked least appetizing out of the diet crisps, the sad bowl of cress, the basket of uncooked asparagus or the single bottle of wine between 4 people… then I clicked to the next story and I think the winner has to be the plate of toast garnished with whole unchopped cloves of garlic! Who tf eats like this pls 😭

My Italian soul just left my body and my ancestors are rolling in their graves.

What the actual f is this. Why is the garlic just chilling. Why does it almost look raw. What is that basic witch bread. Why.

Foreigners always think Italians consume ungodly amounts of garlic and Italian food in other countries always has so much garlic in it but in reality we don't actually use it that much lol and we certainly don't eat it like this

I can imagine that dish done well as someone said before with really good bread, olive oil, salt and properly rubbed garlic but this is just such a no aha.

Ruby is giving Holly a run for her money, she's making vegan food look even more unappetizing
Also, on a side note, those rusty old garden chairs look absolutely horrendous. I can't imagine having a glass of wine and relaxing on these chairs but then in Ruby's world everything has to look as bland, unappealing, rotten and uncomfortable as possible!

Ruby is one of these people who think that anything rustic = good. These chairs are a total 100% n o.
Also remember when she bought that giant boarding school chest which was disgustingly moldy inside and proceeded to put her stuff in it

Maybe it's a health thing. I've heard extremely old people mention eating raw garlic everyday when asked about their "secrets" for health and longevity
Eating raw garlic everyday would probably shorten my lifespan. 😅

Ruby searched the grounds of her estate for hours and hours, but was unable to find any dissertation ideas. Or her marbles.

She's been back home a couple of weeks and already half her content is her playing dress-up in her yard like a deranged child. The only trip she's taking in her gap year is off the deep end.

Yeah I'm sure Jane Eyre wore her hair in a low ponytail held together by a scrunchie too

Seriously that hair makes me sad. Even a braid or a bun is too far outside of her comfort zone apparently

YES. Her hair used to be soo fine (even hair hairline was nice, would you believe it) and at the beginning of university she would at least braid it or do some stuff with it. nowadays it just looks so sad, it’s the same feeling as with her house - i desperately want to go and make something out of all the unused potential. (my hair is crap so i kinda envy her)

Since I've just finished my dissertation just now and it is making me wonder how is Ruby is doing with hers. How should I celebrate? Doing some twirling in the garden?

Just going to be a bit sappy but I wouldn't be able to get through this year without this group, it has kept me sane and made me laugh so much while I've been in my last year of uni.

I'm not from the UK so I'm a bit confused about their university schedule. Why did she go home if her dissertation isn't due until May? Is she still paying rent for a place she's not living? I wonder if Blakeney is still there or if she went home too? At least in the US, we stayed on campus until finals were done.

None of the items she’s wearing are something Jane Eyre might have worn. Not the stretchy polyester top (£45), not the polyester/rayon/spandex pinafore dress (£85), certainly not the plastic headband from Accessorize. Why is she so basic and low-effort?

Pretty sure she went home because her classes all ended, and of course Ruby can't bear to be away from her parents a minute longer than absolutely necessary. The majority of students would have remained in Exeter for longer (it's more logical, and someone who actually enjoys university wouldn't want to leave it so soon), but not Ruby.

UK universities have three terms, summer is mostly reserved for exams I believe. Exeter summer term starts next Monday, Ruby doesn’t have exams though, just writing assignments to turn in.
