I though (some) English people generally pronounced it the French way? My in-laws do it to and I always found it bizarre, but thought it was accepted pronunciation? How is she pronouncing croissants on her latest video? It's so weird

I pronounce it the same way, I don’t think it’s weird? How is she pronouncing croissants on her latest video? It's so weird
I speak French, I know. I just don't understand why she's pronouncing that one word as French when she usually anglicizes her pronunciation of foreign words. My dad is french and pronounces it more or less like that, I’ve heard people say croissant very strangely but the way she said it was normal
Most other British people I know pronounce it that way honestly, I'm not sure why but I do it too!I speak French, I know. I just don't understand why she's pronouncing that one word as French when she usually anglicizes her pronunciation of foreign words.
English isn't my native language so I've never heard anyone who doesn't speak French pronounce croissant in a non anglicized way.
Yeah but you said how she was pronouncing it was weird, it isn’t. I think croissant is just one of those words where a lot of people pronounce it the french way because no one really knows how to pronounce it in the english wayI speak French, I know. Not all heroes wear capes - thanks for the calculations!Soooo...I calculated the prices for all the presents Ruby received this Christmas and it adds up to about £800 - bearing in mind some things were from oxfam/depop which have fluctuating prices, and somethings i couldn't find like the bobble hat and the camera lens. £800 is a lot to spend on one person for Christmas but definitely no where near the other YouTubers who show off their 50+ designer presents, so take it as you will I guess
I'd love to see her do the Pottermore Patronus quiz thing as part of a video to see what she would actually get. Or would she redo the quiz multiple times to get the 'right' result? Not an adult saying an otter is her patronus, and then proceeding to name the same patronus as Hermione Granger, the character she literally pretends to be.
I found this incredibly patronising but could see where she was coming fromRespect where respect is due - I thought Ruby thanking people for spending Christmas alone because it could have saved lives was a nice thing, and it seemed really genuine. Her speech at the beginning though reminded me of the Queen!
Didn't she get bangs for a more Hermione look?https://www.archive.is/oldest/https...kalike-looks-identical-Harry-Potter-star.html
off topic but this article in the daily mail reminded me of ruby and how she would LOVE to look like Hermoine lolol
I mean to post this! I utterly love Seo’s videos, she’s one of the incredibly realistic, down to earth StudyTubers who isn’t afraid to say what needs to be said, and this video is so on point, especially her part on Dark AcademiaIn case any of you are interested, another studytuber, tbhstudying, released a video last week addressing the things she doesn't like about the study community -- including 24x7 productivity, consumerism, elitism, and eurocentrism (+dark academia).
One of the comments under the video that made me chuckle: "one of my friends once said "dark academia is just for people who never really got over not getting a Hogwarts letter" and I've never thought about it the same way since"
Wtf she acts like hermione, but she really doesn’t look like her at allUnfortunately her minions always claim in the comments she either looks like Hermione, Ginny or Hermione’s daughter![]()
Yeah, if it wasn't for the well-practised voice and accent (and some mannerisms) I don't think anyone would really pick out a resemblance to Hermione/Emma Watson.Wtf she acts like hermione, but she really doesn’t look like her at all
Paige said “Ruby I had no idea you were into astrophysics!”.I just find it ridiculous how now she comes up with, “oh I looove Astrophysics!”. Like, ok Ruby, you like looking at stars now, not too sure how you could have hidden that “passion” for so long... It seems like she just tries to reach out to as many viewers as possible while appearing aesthetically pleasing and interested in everything.
