I though (some) English people generally pronounced it the French way? My in-laws do it to and I always found it bizarre, but thought it was accepted pronunciation?

I pronounce it the same way, I don’t think it’s weird?
My dad is french and pronounces it more or less like that, I’ve heard people say croissant very strangely but the way she said it was normal
Just curious, how else is it pronounced? I assumed the French was was the correct way (and I do so myself) so didn't think much of the way Ruby said it.
I speak French, I know. I just don't understand why she's pronouncing that one word as French when she usually anglicizes her pronunciation of foreign words.
English isn't my native language so I've never heard anyone who doesn't speak French pronounce croissant in a non anglicized way.
Most other British people I know pronounce it that way honestly, I'm not sure why but I do it too!
The American-English way I've heard on TV/movies isn't the way it's usually pronounced in Britain at all.
Yeah but you said how she was pronouncing it was weird, it isn’t. I think croissant is just one of those words where a lot of people pronounce it the french way because no one really knows how to pronounce it in the english way

I've never heard anyone other than Americans pronounce it in the English way, all English people I know pronounce it the French way. I've always thought it's weird that there is an "English" way of saying it - it's a French word! If someone said pain au chocolat with completely English pronunciation it would sound ridiculous...

Yeah, if it wasn't for the well-practised voice and accent (and some mannerisms) I don't think anyone would really pick out a resemblance to Hermione/Emma Watson.
I just find it ridiculous how now she comes up with, “oh I looove Astrophysics!”. Like, ok Ruby, you like looking at stars now, not too sure how you could have hidden that “passion” for so long... It seems like she just tries to reach out to as many viewers as possible while appearing aesthetically pleasing and interested in everything.
