Firearms officer will be named in January

I had forgotten about this. I presume this below is the reason for the initial anonymity order.

In his ruling, the judge said he had viewed "raw underlying intelligence material" before coming to the conclusion there was not a "real and immediate risk" to the life of the defendant or to their family.

I find this case so unusual. I wonder why it’s still delayed until January. They didn’t mention it in this article but he’s not been held on remand (probably why they had to assess risk of harm to defendant being named publicly) and still been allowed to go on a pre-booked UK holiday.

This is just appalling! I think I would be dead on the floor if he came towards me 😠

He was found guilty of intentionally causing harassment, alarm or distress. He was convicted of two public order offences at Bristol Magistrates' Court told to pay £700 - a fine of £100 and £200 compensation to three victims.
The police have also asked magistrates to make the man a subject to a Sexual Risk Order due to the investigating officers concerns there was a sexual motivation behind the offences.
The civil order, which has been granted on an interim basis with a further hearing due to take place on 3 November aims to prevent Hunt from repeating his actions and protect the public from further harm.

So he got a small fine and potentially will have a sexual risk order? Doesn’t seem much.

Looking forward to The Detectives. The series a couple of years ago about gangs in Manchester was absolutely fascinating but also horrific (lots of kidnapping and extreme violence)

Kind of crime related as not all cases result in any charges but I have found Crash Detectives (BBC) really fascinating. New series on Monday nights and I binge watched past series on iplayer.

Some tragic cases and many of the crashes end up with death by dangerous driving convictions, but seeing how they piece together exactly what happened is quite impressive. Tiny bits of tarmac that are slightly different shape or colour can tell them what direction the tyres were going for example. And physically putting the vehicles into the position where they made impact creates quite the picture but is very sobering.

Jesus that gets worse the more you read it. What a bleep.
Yep he needs a life sentence given his prior history and then his actions on that day. That’s on a par with manslaughter. Such an utter waste of those poor babies lives and for what?

I believe they are or might be changing the max sentence for death by dangerous driving to a life sentence (think it’s 14 years at the mo) but it’s too late for him.

The OCG documentary was very interesting.
I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t watched it but I was staggered and really saddened by the final comments on screen at the end of the final episode. So very sad for the machete victim and staggered by the NFA on the PO involved …. Wta ?

The 'ransom' note was written on notepaper from the Ramsey house and an expert said the handwriting was similar to Patsy's. It seems likely Blake killed Jon Benet, Patsy covered up for him, maybe it was too late to save her so she didn't call an ambulance.
I've been trying to remember what all was on the blog but the one thing thing that stuck out to me was her mentioning that only Patsy knew where something was hidden in the laundry room. But I can't for the life of me remember what it was... a knife, perhaps? Or the infamous flashlight? I do remember her saying the item was hidden to keep it away from the kids, especially Burke. (Speaking of, I think her blog is also the first time where I read about Burke's issues, too.)

Poor grace, police clearly didn't take her seriously.
I remember this case at the time, it's so sad that she was let down by the police. I honestly think in scenarios like this they make too many assumptions; she was probably dismissed as a young girl making a fuss about nothing, and he was dismissed as harmless.

Her employers should be ashamed too, this guy already had multiple complaints against him from female members of staff and yet he continued to work there and was in a supervisory role :(

Thank you for posting this!! This series was on about 3 years ago and they never aired the last two episodes, I'm guessing it was this case but they had more work to do. All 3 eps are on iPlayer now. Day sorted

We watched the lot last night too. Thanks for the recommendation as I wouldn't have spotted it.

Hearing prepubescent kids talk so candidly about drugs was a shocker.

Faking it: Tears of a crime returns to Quest Red on Saturday at 10pm
It’s also been on Investigation discovery or Crime and investigation a lot lately.
