I’ve got Meg Matthew’s book the new hot and the Liz Earle menopause guide. I prefer the LE one and it was more informative I think but liked the MM one too. I’ve had lots of symptoms and issues, I’m probably just over a year into Peri (45) and had to have mirena removed due to a big bleed dislodging it. I started Menopace Plus 6 months ago which have helped and also take (wait for the essay) B12, C, D, magnesium with calcium, evening primrose with starflower and a probiotic. Also take collagen for skin nails hair and joints. The tingling hands and feet has stopped (always right before period), periods are still quite hideous for first couple of days but are now quite irregular and last ages. Mostly I’m bloody knackered. Been taking everything for six months and definitely feel much better though.

You might want to check with your GP's, it sounds like you have a complex medical history and some of these natural remedies can do harm.
Yep that’s why they’re in my basket for now. I won’t buy them until I’ve spoken to her 👍

I have mentioned on here before that i have been on hrt for roughly 24years so far as started at 19 due to early menopause at 17 so tried most things if i can help anyone? Personally i dont think they know what to do with me as no research on hrt for this long. Tried them all & always felt 💩 but i guess its different for me🥰

It's just lack of research, they don't seem to know what hormone does what other than the basics and unless you go private you don't really get the bespoke treatment needed.

Finally spoke to my Dr! going on pump gel and tablets first. She said it encourages a bleed, I said I'd not had a period since my coil removal in October. Quite confused about this now! Also asked about testosterone and she said to see how I get on with what I'm getting. Also said about hair growth, does that happen??? But didn't' say it wasn't' available, sounds like it would be.

So she's given you HRT? Did you as for HRT? Yes testosterone does cause hair growth but not sure how much? I think most people rub it in at the top of their thigh. I read about one woman using it who said she does get hair growth but just shaves it! Her saying 'see how you get on first' doesn't necessarily mean she would prescribe you testosterone, she would probably come up with some excuse if you said you definitely wanted it!

Hope the HRT helps.

Sorry, I don't take it. I was offered it but I said I will see how I go. I don't actually know anyone who takes it but remember my Mum taking it back in the day!

Hopefully someone else can advise but hopefully it does help with the tiredness. Did you have your Vitamin D checked? That also causes tiredness, low mood, joint aches. I was very low for a few years but am back up to normal levels now.

It's not an automatic test so request it. They'll probably check iron levels, check for diabetes and I would ask for thyroid aswell.

Hi hello

In desperate need of help with HRT.

I had hysterectomy 2yrs ago, ovaries, cervix uterus gone.
On hrt. I had the operation due to PMDD and I'm currently in a major hormomal mess. I don't absorb hrt through the skin. So I'm taking oral. Currently on 2mg daily.
Last bloods showed my estrogen level has dropped dramatically. So now think oral is no longer working 🙄

Waiting referral to gynae for help. Might need to push for an implant. Any advice?

Shouldn't you be seeing an endocrinologist for hormones

Who knows??

I think with the condition that i had/have and the issues i struggle with my treatment needs to be split across a menopause specialist/gynae/endocrinologist/maybe even a MH worker in there too

My gynae was excellent though when i seen her previously which was pre op. So hoping she will be able to help me again

Over the years i have tried hrt tablets patches sprays but never implant. Im far to wary as not had much success with any hrt side effects. Washed their hands of me now as dont know what to do with me. Once a year i now see the chief pharmacist for the menopause clinic at my local hospital. Totally useless.so much so that ijust got up & walked out at my last apt 18months ago
I do hope you get the help you need. Keep us all posted🥰

Maybe we should all start putting pressure on our MPs. GP's get 30 minutes on the menopause during their training. It's utterly abysmal that menopause is not researched adequately given that 50% of the population will go through it at some point and a big percentage of those will have problems. t's cost me my business and a lot of my extended family as I've struggled mentally through it.
