I still don't think even getting Covid & potentially passing it on to others on a feckless poverty tour will make Ratchet change her ways she's too far in now its tragic

No she won't take these days off in isolation to reflect she's probably still actively putting people down and being nasty in her WhatsApp circle group. Her PA has told her to just be quiet about the poverty tour ...so there's most likely a huge gap between them feeling well again to when its uploaded onto some mediocre platform.

I think she's a bit evil personally. For writing a tell all book under the guise of fiction but getting her point of what has happened out there.. For taking people's money through PayPal as a scam.. For lying constantly just to create some drama in her life.. For cutting her daughter's siblings out of their lives let alone when Betsy was clearly upset about a situation that happened.. For putting Edie's dad through court for access when he'd done nothing wrong. All of these things! She is a horrible, nasty, evil woman.

totally agree with this. Yes we can all do things that hurt other people at times but mostly its not intentional. She does it on purpose and actually sets out to cause distress to the boys mum at times. The second book is a prime example of that and using the suicide story is beyond despicable. Rach won the war with Sam. She got her man, she got her boys and made the patchwork family she so desperately desired. She doesn't need to continue to bash her 7 years later.

I struggle with the COVID thing, I followed every rule religiously for so long, then it started taking a massive toll on my mental health, I was having panic attacks every time I wore my mask, my dad had a heart attack, and none of the rules were making any sense whatsoever, so recently I’ve not been following the rules, been away a couple of times & had my dad over before households were allowed to mix etc, therefore I can’t really flame her for the poverty tour.

She’s been a dick throughout though. Covid aside - she’s nasty, manipulative, chavvy, not a good parent, toxic, greedy, a massive compulsive liar, materialistic and narcissistic. Surrounded by enablers. That’s the main part.

I think that’s understandable and I don’t think you’re alone. However, I do think it’s both very irresponsible and completely hypocritical to publicly say on a large platform that you’re following all the rules and “acting like we’re in Tier 4” and then absolutely doing the opposite. I mean, they sent all the kids away to various households last May and it’s just gone downhill since then

Yeah they’ve never given a duck about it, at the beginning I was absolutely consumed with fear and did everything I was asked. I suppose that’s the difference with people R and her having a God complex, she truly feels nothing can touch her

I totally understand that. Please don’t think I’m judging you or anyone on here! I know we all had to, and continue to have to, make some difficult decisions. I wouldn’t begrudge anyone doing what they can ( I know some can’t wear masks etc) and taking informed decisions on what’s best for them and their family. Personally, I stayed with a friend for a couple of nights during the first lockdown when I needed somewhere safe to stay, and that was most definitely not allowed at the time.

But, there’s a massive difference between everyone doing what they can and people like R not even attempting to do any of it. Particularly people like J who given his job, really should have tried harder or at the very very least, not plastered it all over Instagram.

Seeing your dad after he'd been so unwell and bending the rules here and there but in the safest way you could isn't really comparable to how R and J have behaved all the way through. Like others have said, they farmed the kids all off to different places during the first lockdown, had all and sundry parading through their house night and day, days out here, there and everywhere when they weren't supposed to, all the while proclaiming to thousands of followers how difficult it all was "living like we're in tier 4". They have given zero fucks since the beginning, the poverty porn tour was unnecessary and not being done in a safe way. I don't judge people for not strictly following the guidelines, what I do judge is the complete irresponsibility that they have shown.

Oh yes massively, people with large social media followings especially her kind of following should show some bleeping responsibility, even more so that her husband is a police officer. It’s ridiculous how much they’ve gotten away with… but there is always an end point, that’s why I’m still here

Yeah plus Trevi HAS posted about her and her them, though I think that they’ve used her for her following to gather donations rather than anything else. She hasn’t actually DONE anything for them as such.

There’s trying your best and then there’s taking the piss. Some of the things they’ve done since March 2020:

- sent 5 children away to various households so Rachel could have her birthday weekend home alone with Josh and Wobble;
- started building work on several projects meaning numerous strangers were in the house for prolonged periods. During this time, Rachel said that they would eat and drink at her kitchen table alongside her family;
- encouraged Emily to move across the country from her parents’ house and then illegally “bubbled” with her;
- had countless deliveries of unnecessary items;
- used vital food delivery slots intended for vulnerable people to get food shops delivered when they had two healthy adults at home who could have gone out to the shop;
- gone shopping in-store for things like paint that could have been bought online (and instead of one person going, both adults have taken Wobble with them);
- “volunteered” several times at Eat That Frog without wearing a mask, fondled all the food going out to vulnerable people and then allowed the children to “help” (Tallulah did baking with no PPE, Betsy did her homework there…);
- gone to see a small business that makes up little boxes of overpriced tat and touched all the produce before it was sent out;
- had work started on a women’s centre which has involved meetings and more contact with builders etc to get it renovated;
- Betsy and Emily have both worked/volunteered at various places including Gaia coffee;
- gone away for the weekend and then out for the night with various people, none of whom appeared to be distancing;
- taken a six day tour of covid hotspot locations to visit vulnerable people, failed to wear a mask the majority of the time and then socialised with other people in the evenings.

This is all whilst already having five children at various different educational settings plus Edie going to her dad’s regularly.

And that’s just off the top of my head and what we know about, there’s probably a lot more they haven’t disclosed.

i think shes lost a lot in her life. lets assume everything shes said about her childhood is true for a second. she lost her mum at a very young age. her dad then moved a woman in who disliked her. he took on the womans family and preferred them to R. She was close to a girl growing up whose mum doted on her (shes told stories of the family in the past), she was mistreated by boyfriends. her best friend was Hannah whose mum doted on her. That would be hard to watch if your parents didnt care about you. she always wanted Josh, who had a wife and children. she watched the lady on the bridge taking her kids to school and it encouraged her to go part time because she wanted what the lady had. she now wants the builder man to be her dad. she spends a lot of her life looking at what other people have and craving it. She cut off other parents to ensure her children never left her or had it better elsewhere. She has her patchwork perfect life but its not actually hers. B left to stay with her sisters when things got rough. now the sisters have been labelled toxic and ousted. Seb may not be at home and already spends a lot of time at grandmas. I think her lashing out at the boys mum is because its easy. Cheap shot to someone "below" her. The one person she has more than. When really shes probably terrified her family will leave her at any moment for someone better.

What gets me with Rachel and her actions are the automatic implications it has on her children. With almost everything she does ..there is no second thought how certain things she posts online will affect her children in the future.

I mean for the past 18 months I not just lived in the fear of myself catching COVID but for my daughter to catch it. I know of too many kids by now that got it so sending her to school sometimes in this pseudo safety net of her bubble knowing of too many families in there not adhering to the rules for months - was not helping my anxiety so I am still careful and don’t mix as I am not fully vaccinated yet - every time she coughs I worry. Every time my husband coughs I worry - for me it’s really hard to understand why they would take such a huge risk not just for themselves but for their kids? I know I am extreme with my worry (I have diagnosed health anxiety so it’s been a hard year for me mentally) but I would feel so guilty if I would give anyone COVID let alone my child because of being so careless.

I am currently planning on traveling to my home country for the summer for my daughter to see her German family after almost 2 years by then but because she’s not vaccinated I am not sure I am ready to take that risk going on a plane with her..! I know I can’t live in fear forever (and I am working on it) but there is being cautious and there is being reckless and while I don’t wish ill on anyone I really have a hard time not to say “they deserve this” as they broke the rules so blatantly. I just feel so sorry for the kids for always ending up in it as well.

Given how awful they've been regarding lockdown rules throughout it beggars belief that they've become unwell after a totally unnecessary PR tour.

Companies across the world are still operating online, on zoom etc yet she deemed it essential to pack a suitcase of her best clobber and travel to an area where numbers were escalating and warnings were given to stay away.
Even people in those areas embraced her so they're all stupid as. No amount of publicity or hero worshipping is worth dropping your guard.

Call me callous but I can't sympathise with the adults at all. Granted the children deserve better, much better.
Until this insta bubble bursts she's going to bleed it of every last drop and it's just a case of seeing her level of crazy deteriorate, taking all manner of ads,
reaching for engagement and her huns encouraging her every step of the way.

She can't be saved. She doesn't want to be saved. That's sad not solely for her but all those within her immediate circle who aren't (as appears to us) actively intervening.

IF YOU LOVE HER AND THOSE AROUND HER THEN BLOODY WELL STEP IN AND DO SOMETHING.
