They also weighed me with a top, jumper coat and shoes on 😂 I was like this isn’t really accurate is it?

I do think if you have constant nausea some anti sickness could be a good idea if you are having to eat constantly as they say you don’t need extra calories until your 3rd trimester and it’s only around 200-300 calories but you may hit the second trimester and not feel as sick hopefully unless you have HG?
I don’t have HG, I’m very lucky really. I’m nervous about taking any medication tbh. Will see what the weight check comes out with. They took my height without asking me to take my thick soles trainers off so that knocked a couple of points off my BMI 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Honestly don’t worry. I was weighed once at the start and once in like my 36th week and no one said anything and frankly I didn’t care (I’m a bigger girl and piled on the weight during pregnancy). Not advocating eating too much and you defo want to stay active/strong but I also think you’re growing a human so please don’t stress about weight gain.
Thanks my lovely. Usually I try and make the snacks relatively healthy but at my Mum’s I was like some kind of wild secret eater. Opened a box of chocolate chip shortbread that I had hidden in the bedroom and they were way too good 🤣

Just weighing in on babymoons, I'm due in May which meant second trimester was mostly December-February. I really didn't want to fly too far so at this time of year a proper warm holiday was off the cards! We did a cold city break instead which was lovely.

Baby Pixie arrived on Wednesday after a 52 hour labour! He is absolutely perfect and it was so magical to find out his gender from my husband. We had to stay in hospital until yesterday as he was a little jaundiced and my hormones were all over the place when we finally got to take him home. I can’t believe we get to keep him.
Hope the rest of you lovely ladies have great pregnancies 💙🤍 xx

My nausea has really peaked over the last couple of days and I’m now struggling to find things I can bring myself to eat. I think it’s just because this is quite a stressful work week and I have the first NHS scan today and I’m weirdly nervous about it. Anyways, I’m having to take the train to work today and the smell of aftershave and perfume is about ending me. I really don’t want my first pregnancy puke to be on a train… pray for me 🤣

I got a uti after my 12 week scan 😂 I have the weakest bladder in the world. Drank the recommended amount of water about 30 minutes before my appointment, appointment was late by 40 minutes. By the time I got in there I felt like my bladder was exploding, then she pushed down so so hard during the scan because baby girl wouldn’t play ball. By the time I left I went to the toilet to wee and just couldn’t. Started driving home and had to stop at about seven different fast food places to use the bathroom. I was sweating, leaking and in so much agony. Spent the rest of the night vomiting up my antibiotics, crying and alternating between sleeping in the bathtub and in an adult nappy in the spare room. Didn’t sleep until 5am from the pain of it 😂

Said duck it for my next appointment and didn’t drink anything all morning and they told me they had a lovey clear image because my bladder was so full 😂

I once peed right before my scan because I genuinely couldn’t hold it anymore, and they got a very clear image and said it was because of my full bladder 🤣🤣

I had quite a few scans as was under fetal medicine til 20 weeks and honestly I gave up quickly on trying to drink the recommended amount because I’d always just get told to empty my bladder anyway 😂

it’s def not something to stress over doing and if we ever had another baby I wouldn’t bother trying either !

Like, it’s actually torture. My bladder is the weakest in the world and I’m getting up to pee 4 times a night as it is, at 10w and 6d. If men had to go through this they would have invented another way I swear to god.

Yeah I agree, I never bothered too much and as others have said they push so hard on your tummy that it’s just painful if you need a wee too much. My view was that it’s their job to find a good image of the baby especially at 20 weeks when it’s the very detailed scan 🤣

Mine explicitly says you do not need a full bladder for your scan which makes question why some trusts still ask for it….

I have an overactive bladder anyway and always dread when I have to have a full bladder for scans. It's so painful! My friend told me during her pregnancy she never bothered about drinking loads before a scan and they never questioned it so I didn't bother for the 12 week scan as I was anxious enough and it wasn't an issue 😂

I totally understand waiting times but our 20 week scan was over an hour late - I emptied and refilled my bladder about three times while waiting to be seen just to be told I didn’t need a full bladder anyway! I think it’s more of an issue for early reassurance scans but they can always go transvaginal if they can’t get a clear enough abdominal image.

My letter didn’t even say anything! I literally wouldn’t have known if a) I didn’t fart about on here way too much and learn from all of you and b) I hadn’t booked and attended a private scan where they were very helpful with how much liquid they suggested you drank and how long before. I still about peed myself on the examination bed and JuniorDragName was so teeny weeny they had to switch to TV anyway. I’m just going to not worry about it. I’ll drink a bit of water in half an hour or so and see what happens. I don’t actually mind a TV scan. Obviously I can think of better ways to spend my afternoon but to me personally it’s more pleasant than my flabby belly and overactive bladder being pressed to feck 🤣

Slightly disappointing scan. They dated me as 10w6d which is exactly what my private scan dated me as, but they wouldn’t accept the notes of my private scan, so they had me at 11w6d based on first day of my last period. So I was too early for screening and I’ll have to go back. Which is fine except I do have a full time job and I might not be lucky enough to get the really local hospital for my next scan (one option is actually the hospital in the city I work in, an hour away, which would be fine for me but tit for MrDragName). Still, JuniorDragName was having a little boogie in there, stretched out a leg like a right show off and looked healthy, if a little blurry/fuzzy because they stayed TA. We didn’t get any pictures, which is a shame but they wouldn’t really have been worth it anyway. I just feel like the report from my private scan, which was probably done by someone from the same NHS health board who does a bit of private moonlighting, would have saved the NHS a bit of time and resource today, neither of which they have in abundance.

Someone may be able to correct me but I think the screening bloods have to be done at the same time as the scan for Down’s syndrome as they measure the fluid at the back of the neck and it’s a combined result which gives your likelihood of baby having it!
Which js annoying having to go back BUT at least it’s another chance to see baby !!!

Yeah she said no screening bloods today, they’ll be done when I get the screening scan. I was just annoyed they wouldn’t take the dates from my private scan to select this dating scan appointment date (I had a report, I wasn’t just expecting them to take my word for it!), if id been a week later it would have probably been fine! But yeah, be good to see JuniorDragName having another wiggle about! It did look more like a baby and less like a funny tiny blob, that was a relief!

I had several early scans at my epu that had me dated just over a week behind to what my period/ovulation date was. They were done at the same hospital but they still had me go to my ‘12 week’ scan too early
Didn’t mind so much as it’s just an extra chance to see baby, also didn’t get offered scan pictures either which was fine but you’d think they’d have seen on my records that baby wasn’t matching up with my last period date 😂

can see it annoying if you struggle to get out of work or it’s far to travel though !

Interesting because when I mentioned at my first midwife appointment I'd had a private scan, she asked me what they had dated me as and then they used that date although there was only 2 days difference. Then at my NHS scan there was another 4 days difference.
I guess it's another one of those things that seems to change from trust to trust!

It is so crazy how each nhs trust is so different! My first scan is next week so I’ll be able to compare notes. Hopefully all is well.
