Sending love 🩷 I had a lot of bleeding in my first pregnancy so I know how worrying it is.
They did an internal assessment and said my cervix is closed and womb looks fine and can’t see why I’d be bleeding and have booked me for a scan so trying to not worry about it
Do you know what caused yours?
How far along are you? Hope scan is good.
A cervical etropian (sp?) caused my first, lighter bleed. Then a subchronic haematoma (again sp?) caused my second, which was more like a very heavy period.

Urgh, why do I just come here and moan? Second attempt at the 12 week scan, had to schlep to another hospital which is fine but the parking is awful there, so we paid a fortune to park in the city centre and get a bus and were super early for the appointment. It was a nicer place/unit than my local place. Same sonographer as last time. So much pressing on my belly. JuniorDragName was not playing ball and turned on its side with its back to the scanner so, and I wish I was kidding, the sonographer poked me and my extremely full bladder repeatedly with the scanner to encourage the baby to turn. Not cool. No offer of switching to TV from TA, we didn’t understand a lot of the super quiet mutterings the sonographer was doing, but we could see that the images were crap despite several tries and a lot of pressing really hard on my large belly. In the end she had to give up and couldn’t do the screening we’d consented to which meant I couldn’t have the screening blood test which means I can only be screened for Down’s syndrome in 3-4 weeks time. We got one very sad little blurry picture where you can genuinely make nothing out, she blurted out lots of things at high speed about the blood test in a few weeks and any follow up invasive tests and my 20 week scan and then we were done. I was and still am a bit emotional about all of this. I think my expectations have all been a bit led by tv/film/social media. We’re probably going to pay for private screening, a local place does Harmony and somewhere slightly less local but still nearby does Panorama 3 and VERAgene.
it was nice to see the nipper again but it again feels like a complete waste of my entire morning and because JuniorDragName wouldn’t play ball I’m now missing out on screening. Hmpf.

I’m 25+2 today and had my midwife appointment. When she measured me she said the baby is measuring at 30 weeks…
and she checked multiple times. I always knew my baby was on the bigger side, but 5 weeks ahead?! I’m way above the 97th percentile.
they’re sending me for a scan next week to check I don’t have excess fluid. Has anyone had this?! I feel like I look pretty big for 25 weeks, but what does this mean? Am I going to have to deliver a 5 stone baby? Do I need a c section? An episiotomy?
should I get my hospital bags ready??

I originally declined screening but then changed my mind after finding baby might have issues and asked for it, like you at that scan they couldn’t get a view for the measurement so they offered me the Quad test - which came back as low chance then we paid for private nipt test to make sure baby was okay. If your Quad test comes back high I believe the nhs should offer you a nipt test free.

Thank you. It seems to vary from place to place. Scotland are piloting something that’s different to England but I don’t really get it, but all I know is I now can’t be checked for the downs, Williams and patau’s, only downs and I don’t think its as accurate or something. Whilst I don’t know that the results will really change anything apart from us having more knowledge about what’s ahead of us, I still feel that because we’re approximately a million years old we probably should arm ourselves with info.Hm that seems a bit wrong of them !

I’m just tired of having rushed, garbled, impersonal experiences from a supposedly award winning service. There’s been a couple of lovely people along the way but on the whole I’ve found everyone either dour or overwhelming and it doesn’t inspire me to want to push a baby out of my body with them by my side, you know? But maybe I’m being a complete diva, I can’t even tell anymore because I’m so bleeping tired.
Terrible. Do bare in mind TA images are definitely less clear than TV. IDK why wouldn't do a TV, I understand that there's people uncomfortable with that but they could ask???

I would have been delighted to empty my uncomfortable bladder and have a TV scan. I should have said something but how am I supposed to tell someone qualified what to do exactly?
I had my first scan today - baby is there and has all limbs. It’s been a lovely little relief and I feel like I can actually concentrate on the pregnancy instead of almost disengaging since I took my test!
@ThisIsMyDragName i am so so sorry to hear about your experience. I’d personally make a complaint. The trust I’m with has been excellent. The sonographer today had to jiggle me as baby was on its head but she asked before she did so and explained why. she jiggled and then asked me to lift my hips up and do a little dance so she could get it to straighten up a bit for the measurements. She was so positive and seemed excited to show us its feet and little hand. And we listened to the heartbeat. I so hope I’m not rubbing salt in the wound - merely describing how you should’ve been treated. For context I have a higher bmi and im 40 and at no point have I been made to feel that those are issues.

I was shocked to find out that the growth measurements they literally just measure your bump in cm and plot it to number of weeks... I can't imagine how many other variables would impact size of bump other than babys actual size! They are meant to be very inaccurate. Think growth scans are better but still not great. I’m so glad you’re having a good experience! I was asked to roll side to side, I was also asked to get off the bed and wiggle my hips but I was also just pressed to feck, it was actually beyond uncomfortable to painful. The repeated jabbing with the scanner was uncalled for. I literally went ‘well, that’s a fun feeling on my full bladder’. She did point out head/face/arms but did not seem excited to show us anything. We saw but didn’t hear the heartbeat, it was never offered. The scan picture is genuinely terrible. And there is a white line down the side of the picture where the printer is obviously fecked. I can’t even look at it because it just makes me feel sad to be honest.
Exactly! What if I had a belly to begin with
or the baby is just going through a growth spurt? It’s very inaccurate I feel. Ah well at least I have a scan next week 
thank you!@Scorpihoe i measured 50th one week then 90th 3 weeks later, growth scan showed tall baby with her legs curved right up to her face making my bump stick out more. I was also bloated myself so don’t think that helped. At next midwife scan two weeks later was back to 50th. All fine and baby was 7lb when born so not a giant 
Oh wow, I've mentioned before I don't live in the uk. Measurements of baby here have been in scan, actual "crown-heel length". My belly has never been measured! That makes a lot of sense.
I have a massive belly anyway (and did before I got knocked up). They will probably be concerned I will birth a toddler by 25 weeks
