One week early. If you can push it, have things pretty organised already, I’d go as far as you can.

I’m planning to finish at 36 and put holidays in for a week or two before starting official mat leave. Mainly due to that being a busy time at work and I don’t want the stress!

Official maternity leave would be starting week of my due date but I have a few weeks hol to use before so need to get them in really!! but yes 37 weeks shoud be fine I guess with hols added.

Mine starts at 36 weeks automatically because I’m off anyway. I was hoping to go to 38 weeks originally because we have everything ready.

Is anyone that’s had previous baby’s shocked how different the symptoms are? I have a little boy and having another but the pregnancy is completely different, I’m shocked they are both boys and a bit scared incase the scan is wrong🤣🤣

After a 16 hour active long labour I’m delighted Baby Lava has safely arrived into this world! Bit of a long day and so sore down there but so worth it. He was five days early and weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces ❤ We’re so in love already.
Congratulations!! ❤

Hi everyone pregnant with my first, very nervous! Started a new job in December. Due August. So scared to tell them 😳 does anyone know if we can use all our holiday up for the year before we start maternity leave?

Yep me 😅 I’m having another boy and everyone was convinced I was having a girl because of how sick I’ve been and how different this pregnancy has been so far! Hoping my 20 week NHS scan confirms it’s a boy otherwise I’ve got a lot of clothes to return 😂

I’m having the opposite sex this time and the weight/bump is going on really different but I think it’s as much to to do with being stretched already, it’s hard to know what’s easier because you expect it this time or have less anxiety. It’s hard to remember when certain symptoms started last time so I don’t want to count my chickens 😂

Boy - Weight/bump more all over, spd wayyyyy worse, less cravings but starving, hair not greasy and feels thicker, get really hot all the time.
Girl - food and smell aversions, cravings, more nose bleeds, felt better for longer, neater bump, body hair reduced, rib pain, better skin, worse MH.
Same for both - skin not great at start, bleeding gums, shortness of breath, eye sight got worse, PGP.

Christ! When I put it out like that it sound horrendous 😂

You accrue holiday while on Mat leave and can take any holiday owing before mat leave but check the calculator as you have to be in work with your current employer for 26 weeks before the 15th week before the due date to qualify for mat pay. You should qualify for mat allowance if not though.

My first came the day after his due date, currently have a week to go to this one's due date. I took two weeks annual leave before my due date for both so I could rest and get stuff done. My mat leave is due to kick in on my due date. My mat pay is enhanced so I get 100% of my salary for the first 18 weeks, I think, and then SMP kicks in. End up with no money coming in in December so have been saving money past couple of months to cover that.

My bump is completely different but I think that might be because I had an anterior placenta first time and a posterior placenta this time. Luckily haven't had any sickness either time but it has been a struggle this time round. I think that's mostly down to me being old and having a very active toddler to entertain.

Back at the mat unit for a check due to spotting. My chart is MIA so they don’t have my last visit’s notes and only for my previous gynae appointments so there has been some very confused HCWs reading my temporary chart coz it doesn’t mention being pregnant 😂😂

all looks good, my HCG levels were over 66,000 last week and then I had a really strong scan the following day. I won’t get a scan today but I’m booked in for my 12 week one on Friday so I’m not too bothered. Just so glad that even though my spotting isn’t too heavy, I’m being taken seriously ❤

Do you find baby moves less after a busy day? I’ve been out all morning and early afternoon and I’ve not felt her move. I don’t know if I’m just being paranoid or not, I’ve just sat down after picking my
toddler up and I’ve had a big glass of water and a kit kat and nothing yet 😬

I feel bad for moaning sometimes because it’s like I don’t appreciate the fact we have free healthcare, but when things get missed I do find it annoying. At my first antenatal appointment they did all the bloods, didn’t hear anything so I rang them up for the results and they said “If there’s anything to tell you, we’ll ring. Otherwise there’s nothing flagged”. Get to my 12 week scan yesterday to be told my iron is extremely low and “Didn’t they ring you to tell you? They should have. You should be on strong tablets” No. They didn’t. And I rang THEM to check. It’s just annoying, I’m really on the ball with things like checking up / making calls but I could be the best in the world, if they’re not giving me the info I can’t push. So really I should have known weeks ago, so I could have started the tablets. I haven’t even started them now, as apparently further testing to determine the exact deficiency is needed.. which could have been done weeks ago too.

My baby is often most active when I'm in bed at 10/11pm ish! I'm only just feeling her move a lot during the day now and I'm 30 weeks. I do feel her less on a weekend when I'm busy/out and about. If it's a longer spell than usual don't be scared to ring triage. How many weeks are you? Maybe give him/her a prod and a poke to see if they respond (sounds awful sorry haha!!)

I’m 26+5!! I’ve been poking and prodding my belly and I’ve had a glass of water, 2 bars of chocolate 😬 I don’t want to keep eating to try and get her to move lol. I’m pretty sure I felt her move this morning but nothing since I’ve got home! I usually feel her move at bedtime too. I don’t know if I’m just being paranoid or not

I had a day where I didn't feel her all day and panicked even though I knew her routine was only night time, it still worried me, I was probs about 25 weeks. Then all of a sudden she was non stop moving that night! If there is anything out of the ordinary just ring the maternity unit if you are worried and they can get you monitored. x

I have a cervical ectropion. Basically a little ‘sore’ caused by hormones, sex or examinations like swabs etc. They couldn’t see it last week because there was blood covering it but the blood seems to have cleared now and they think I’ll stop spotting soon. Such a relief!

Mine moves less when I’ve been busy, but please ring triage rather than sitting there worrying. Just explain you’ve poked and prodded and tried a cold drink and sugary snack, they’ll get you in to listen in and check baby is ok and then you can have peace of mind that they’re ok in there and just sleeping after a busy day. You’ll probably find as soon as they get the Doppler out she’ll start wriggling away again 😊
