Can I ask when you were given your date?? I’m 34 weeks, was told they’ll more than likely bring me in at 37 and that was ages ago. Anytime I’ve asked since they don’t give me a straight answer
I had an appointment with my consultant at 32 weeks for a growth scan and discussion. They told me then what stage of pregnancy they wanted to do it (between 38-39 weeks) because of my risk factors
Seeing for a follow up at 36 weeks too

That's so strange, get onto your midwife to chase it for you

With your case, quote the nice guidelines at them, that it's recommended that DCDA twins are brought between 37 & 37+5 and no later. It should push them along a bit.
I was given my first csection date at my 28 week scan.

Hope you’re feeling better after talking to him. Can totally relate to this bit though. Mr R can’t stop telling everyone every single detail we discuss. He’s told everyone our name choice already (only found out the gender at the weekend), told everyone I’m asking for a C-section and why, told everyone feeding preferences, discusses my medication (HG) and any symptoms with every man and his dog, told everyone everything we’re planning to do for baby/babies room etc. It’s like he can’t keep anything to himself. I get it’s that he’s excited but sometimes I even hesitate to tell him things because I know within an hour his entire family will know along with his best mate and half of our colleagues 😅
Id have him murdered 😂 god bless your patience that would drive me nuts. It's kinda sweet he's so involved with your medications though and is showing interest to spin it to a positive

Has anyone on here had an opted c section?
My first labour was horrendous and nearly ended up with emergency c section and I'm really considering just an opted c section for this baby but only thing I'm nervous about is the healing when I'll have a baby and a toddler
I’m in the same situation. So hard to know what to do. I gave birth in theatre with forceps after 24 hours in labour and 2 hours of pushing and really don’t want to go through that again. Felt so deflated when I’d been through the whole labour and was going to have an emergency section so very tempted to have an elective this time to avoid all that but very nervous about when my partner goes back to work and being alone with a toddler and a newborn if recovery is tough.☹ the thought of not being able to lift my toddler up if she asks kills me

It’s tempting sometimes believe me 😂 I like that he gets so involved but I wish he’d learn when he needs to keep his mouth shut 😂

This is what made me want to avoid a section at all costs. However I had a very very straight forward delivery 3 weeks ago-it was so fast I ended up with a very bad tear and I’ve really struggled with recovery. I can’t really lift my toddler but I tell her mummy is sore and tbh she is happy with the cuddles instead. So what I would say is if you think it is going to be better for you to have the section, have it as sometimes the alternative isn’t ideal either!

Feels like she's using my ribs as a springboard to get deeper into my pelvis. Lots of lower back pain and pressure. So uncomfortable 😆 I'm such a giggler when I'm in pain so I'm just sat on the sofa laughing and the cat is staring at me, probs wondering if he should call the crisis team

Thanks for your reply! I did actually have a birth debrief (via zoom) as I gave birth during the first lockdown and had quite an emotionally traumatic time! They told me I had the caesarean due to “failure to progress” (even though I reached 10cm I pushed for two hours- I just wasn’t physically able to get her out and she became quite distressed!) but never mentioned any future risks

I’ve looked on my notes and I think maybe I’ve been referred because I have more than one risk factor. I also have low bmi (I’m a very naturally small human!) and some heart problems. So maybe they are just being extra cautious?

Yes happy to give you updates! it’s something I had no idea would be an issue so it came as quite a surprise to me!

this is some info regarding statistics surrounding it if you are interested x

.
Thank you❤❤ I’ve been reading about cervical length scans so perhaps they’ll offer you those!

Just returned from my 40 week check in appointment - after having the fear of god put into me about induction by one of the doctors, I saw my community midwife for my sweep. Turns out I'm already 3cm dilated and my cervix is "optimal" so baby could come at any time!

For anyone considering a sweep, I know everyone is different but I found it no more uncomfortable than a smear - no pain, just breathed through it.

Feeling really frustrated - I know going on walks helps get baby moving but the idea of getting dressed and walking is so 😫 I don't have the energy! It's cold and foggy and putting shoes on takes an age. Just going to continue pumping/colostrum harvesting/bouncing on ball/walking upstairs sideways. I'm being so lazy 🥴 she'll come when she feels like it

Quoting myself for full transparency to say the post-sweep situation is actually quite painful 🫠

Barely felt my sweep with my first, it was just uncomfortable, I was 2cm already and contracting every 10-15 minutes.

however my midwife gave me another sweep when I went back in to be checked after contracting all day, I was still 2cm but it was total agony, I screamed at her what was she doing 😂

When did everyone start to feel movement in their first pregnancy? I’m 18 weeks and haven’t felt them yet, I know they say between 16-24 weeks but I’d like to start feeling them now 🤣 (I’ll probably eat my words soon!)

It probably was around that mark for me first pregnancy, but I think I felt like flutters before hand which I wasn't very sure for a while and it was only at nighttime when I was completely relaxed on the couch. Id say ill notice it quicker if I get pregnant again as I wasn't sure for a while but I did feel something early but you wouldn't be sure and it's very sporatic. I was very confident at around 20ish weeks that I was having flutters as it was asked at my appointment.
I'm now at 29 weeks and the lovely cute flutters I felt at 19 are now more swooshing movements and a little less pleasant. I love feeling the baby as I wasn't a fan of scans the movement gives me great reassurance. I do find it hard to tell at first as you'd be doubting yourself but you know when you feel it alright, the trick is to relax and wind down I find
