Induced today with Propess, allowed home thankfully. It was bloody sore getting that put in, and still feels uncomfortable when I am walking. Almost feels like a tampon that's not inserted properly. I've to phone the labour ward tonight regardless to let them know if I'm contracting or not so will run it past them as I'm unsure if it's normal. Can anyone advise? I think it might just be down to being irritated up there! Cervix still nowhere near ready despite being 10 days overdue. I want my baby out 😔

Got my c section date today.. 27th December! Also found out my waters are slightly high, 22cm when they class 25cm as polyhydramious, however you spell it, got to take my glucose test again as a result 🥺

As I’m having a planned section this time, I haven’t got a birth plan as such. The only thing I definitely want is my fleetwood mac playlist played in theatre 🤣

I’m going to ask about delayed cord clamping and skin to skin at my pre-op appointment tomorrow. Will report back for any fellow planned c-section mamas!

31 week appointment was fine. Baby has now officially run out of ‘moving up’ room and will start to grow out. I’m going to be enormous.

i worked out regular pre pregnancy

i felt so sick and threw up until about 18 weeks. then i started with round ligament pain. in my third trimester i felt the best. but i haven’t kept up with any workouts. so now i feel extremely weak. even body weight squats are absolutely foreign to me now. is anyone else is the same situation and is wondering how their body can recover post pregnancy ?
Just popping my head in here! I ran a marathon about 3 weeks before I conceived our LO and ended up with plantar fasciitis from it. Had lots of RLP, fatigue and breathlessness (I managed to dodge sickness somehow) for the whole 9 months basically. I ran a 5k flat race in September at about 12 weeks pregnant in 40 odd minutes because I was so breathless - the day before the marathon I ran a relaxed 28 minute parkrun... So my fitness changed drastically in a very short amount of time.

Now I'm 8 months post partum and I'm running a couple of times a week, 3 to 5 miles a time. Do strength work outs (both at the gym by myself and with a buggy fitness class) at least three if not four times a week (I have a very understand OH who's also into fitness and we alternate who goes out as my buggy fit classes and one run a week are with baby). I'm nowhere near as fit as I was before but I am starting to get there and see an improvement. There's a postpartum fitness thread on here too with some other ladies who are getting back to pre-baby level! For now, try not to worry. Is there a pregnancy yoga class or pilates class you could do? Or some nice walks? At third trimester it's more about the mental benefits of working out than the physical IMO.

ETA - Also, just to add, nothing fuelled my pregnancy rage more than instagram pages and magazines like Runners World shouting loudly about women running/doing cross fit/triathalon/whatever sport up to "the day before they gave birth". So, so rare to have a pregnancy like that and great if you do, but the majority of women don't and it just makes you feel shit!

I had 2 nightmares last night, one was that me & my partner took our 3 year to the farm and forgot him and went back for him at half 9 at night to be told we’re terrible parents and they’ve rang social services and we’re never going to see him again 😭 then another that I went to the toilet and wiped to see blood. It was scarily real feeling so I spent hours of the night lying there wondering if it was real or not. I have my 8 week midwife appointment today then on Friday I have a scan on the nhs and I’ll be 9 weeks. I think my nightmares are stemming back from my last pregnancy I had a scan at 9 weeks to be told there was no heartbeat so think my nightmares are anxiety related

FTM and now overdue. Still reasonably active which I can't complain about but I just want my baby here. But then again, I don't want to have to go through labour and I'm questioning why I ever got pregnant lol. It feels like a long wait being 40+ weeks with zero signs of it happening anytime soon!

Ahhhh work out how to use your pram before baby gets here 😆 ours has needed some repetitive movement to make it less stiff, otherwise shaking the bassinet with a baby inside.

someone on the December baby centre forum has finally gone into labour. December mums; here we go!

We viewed our first nursery today, we loved it! I still want to view our other choice too so I need to call to arrange that
I said to the lady am I mean for wanting to put it in one day a week from 3 months old she said no we have a 9 week old in full time! 😵
At work we had an 8 week old who would do 8am-6pm 5 days a week while his parents worked. The parents missed the majority of his 'firsts' but we'd never let on that he'd began crawling etc while in our care. They received no help with childcare costs either and the mums wages only just covered the childcare costs so it completely baffled us as to why she returned to work.

What are everyone’s thoughts re letting people kiss their baby? As my baby will be born in the height of flu/cold season I’m really reluctant to let anyone other than me and my partner kiss him. I’m also worried about cold sores… might be completely misplaced but my partner says he feels weird telling his parents not to kiss our baby. Am I being neurotic?!
You're definitely not being neurotic. There's so many different germs that your baby could be exposed to and then you'll be in for hospital stays. It's just not worth the risk. Also, it may just be me, but never in my life have I felt the urge to kiss someone else's baby. I find it so bizarre!

We had loads of baby related deliveries yesterday and it's completely spun me out 🥴 I didn't want to really acknowledge the pregnancy as real until past 20 weeks, even though it's my first, so being at 34 weeks feels very odd! The finish line feels so close yet so far at the same time. I'm more impressed I've gone about 30 weeks without any major caffeine (still eating choc and drinking decaff) intake than growing a whole human being 😂

@Burrito88 @AllTheBest2022 I'm in two minds myself too. I wanted to but then the midwife said that there's no real need unless you're having a section or if you know there could be complications with feeding but as this is my first I don't know how it's going to go and hear that colostrum is really good for the baby but I also don't know how to do it etc. I think you have to wait til 37 weeks because it can start early labour but I don't know if it's painful etc because you'd have to do it by hand and I haven't started leaking anything yet but I do have some yellow crusts in my nipples now and then but I don't know if this is a small amount of colostrum that is hardening before actually leaking out? I have zero clue about it 🙈😂
I'm 37 weeks and 2 days, had the same thing with the crust on my nipples but haven't actually noticed anything leaking. I'm having a c-section and will be formula feeding but I'm not against the idea of harvesting colostrum beforehand. I unfortunately don't see the midwife until a week before my c-section which doesn't give me much time to get the hang of it. Hopefully there's some tutorials or something on YouTube for me 😂
---
I’m going in as a planned section, but reading up, there’s still a lot of options. Also, if I spontaneously go into labour, I may just give it a go if it’s safe.
My perinatal midwife recently did a birth/care plan with me, didn't even realise it was possible with a c-section. I was surprised at how much they can adapt during a c-section to make it more how the parents want (if that makes sense?) We've opted for the curtains/drapes to be lowered, baby cleaned before skin to skin, partner to cut the cord, told what is happening at each step (e.g first incision etc), private room, and my boyfriend to stay with me the whole time and overnight. I've also asked for reduced use of medical jargon as we aren't trained surgeons/midwives so would rather it be dumbed down😂

God the emotional impact this week is killing me. Ive been so tearful all the time and feel like a teenage girl. I think this has possibly been the worst “symptom” for me. Don’t feel positive at all right now and just feel upset about most things

I have no trouble getting to sleep.. but if anybody wakes me up early, there is absolutely no way I’m falling asleep again. Hence why I’m up at 5am on Tattle

I'm starting to get hot flushes to the point where I feel sick and a bit faint/dizzy. Is this a sign labour could be near? I'm just over 39 weeks and everything is making me wonder "is this it?" I'm having increased BM too but I don't feel like my bump has dropped at all.
I was actually so hot I thought my waters breaking was just sweat between my legs (so did the midwives 😂 until they checked and it was my waters ). I also had a dodgy tummy 3-4 days before. I don’t think my bump really dropped either.
Shoutout goes to the midwife who wrote “felt sweaty” on my notes when I went in.
