I did some hypnobirthing videos (meditation) on YouTube which I liked because it got me in a calm headspace. Just did the sessions on my birthing ball each evening.
I've been reading a hypnobirthing book but not fast enough, need to crack on with it and I've watched some videos. I think I need to practice the breathing and being calm 😂 I know you'll never be fully prepared and anything can happen but I also don't want to go into it panicking 🙈

I liked my hypnobirthing books for the bits that said “what if it doesn’t go all to plan” as they talk you through being able to question what’s happening - which is what I needed this time round. The meditation definitely helped me with breathing and I use it sometimes still tbh. I did lose the plot when I was trying to push baby out but all the way up til then it was really handy.

The Calm Birth breathing and meditation helped keep me chilled out during prep for my c-sections. My husband says it looks like I “leave the room”. I have a big needle phobia so I can vouch for how effective it is!

I just read the book The Calm Birth Method. I think there are courses you can do as well though.

I’m 30 weeks today. That’s a big number…30. I feel like it’s been a long time coming, too. I take those “bumpies” on BabyCentre app and yesterday I noticed a real difference in bump height and shape - I feel very big now. Insomnia has dried up over the past few days and been replaced by recurring nightmares of labour and every complication I could imagine. I’d rather the insomnia came back.

I have my 20 week scan this morning.
I feel like this pregnancy has gone so fast already.
My first pregnancy I was constantly wishing it away; wishing time would go quicker until I met my baby, I was devastated when I gave birth and wasn’t pregnant anymore, I really missed it 😂

trying not to do the same this time around but it’s already going so quick

i had a nightmare last night involving prams?! woke up in a panic, think it's because i've been debating getting a doona to take him home in then it'll be left at my parents as a spare/quick outing pram. my brain is just full of baby!!

I had 2 nightmares last night, one was that me & my partner took our 3 year to the farm and forgot him and went back for him at half 9 at night to be told we’re terrible parents and they’ve rang social services and we’re never going to see him again 😭 then another that I went to the toilet and wiped to see blood. It was scarily real feeling so I spent hours of the night lying there wondering if it was real or not. I have my 8 week midwife appointment today then on Friday I have a scan on the nhs and I’ll be 9 weeks. I think my nightmares are stemming back from my last pregnancy I had a scan at 9 weeks to be told there was no heartbeat so think my nightmares are anxiety related

I’ve been doing the bumpies every week too since 4 weeks and it’s laughable at the ‘bump’ I thought I had at 12 weeks compared to now 😆

I'm feeling like absolute tit 😭 if I went into labour now I don't think I'd survive 🙈 I feel so lethargic and I think I have a migraine which I never ever usually get. I have a stabbing pain in my eye that's so intense it's making my eyes water and I honestly thought I'd woke up blind 🙈 I think I had Braxton Hicks last night as my bump was super hard and tender and I just felt really uncomfortable all night but it wasn't intense if that makes sense so I'm not 100% certain. I think I've got to that stage now where I'm worrying that everything is the onset of labour and I'm not ready yet! 😂 sorry for the moan!

Can you run a nice bath and read for a bit? Sounds like you need to relax today. I think you’ve finished now, haven’t you?

Yeh I think I need to try to relax and chill out a bit. Yeh finished work so I think I don't have that distraction anymore and I'm just constantly worrying and stressing myself out 🙈

It’s likely unfounded but totally understandable. I’m having the same problem with spiralling out of control. Definitely relax. Have a pamper day!

Big hugs to you ❤ I’m going through a pregnancy after a difficult missed miscarriage too and can totally relate. The anxiety can be unreal. Don’t want to offer unsolicited advice on managing it but it did get so much better after my first early scan.

Don’t want to alarm you but intense headaches and eye issues are sometimes associated with pre eclampsia, if it persists maybe phone midwife/hospital? But I feel your pain, I am very done, baby is so uncomfortable and sleep is non existent!!

Luckily it only lasted about 20-30 mins but felt like forever! I'll definitely keep an eye on it though as it's not like me to have something like that. I go between thinking I just want baby here now to thinking I'm not quite ready 🙈 feels like a bit of a limbo stage.
