This may be a bit personal but anyone else's husband/partner not want to cut the cord if the opportunity is presented to them? He's said no, I don't really mind (his body, his choice etc) but I just thought it was the norm. I don't want him to regret not doing it, either.
Mine didn’t want to either with our first and I wasn’t fussed either way by that point haha. He’d probably be more open to it this time but I’m not bothered so if he wants to he can but if not then no worries!

Mine was horrified when I asked him at first but I explained what it entails and now he's saying he'll do it. I think men are generally more squeamish than women.

I’m not sure I’d want my husband to cut the cord tbh 🤣 I’ll just let the doctors do it (having a section), they know what they are doing 🤣

Surgeon cut my cord. You could always do it if husband won’t! 😂

Is it the norm?! I thought it was something you mainly see in films, I didn't realise most people do it! I mentioned it to my husband as an option and he wasn't interested, but luckily neither was I! I was so out of it I don't even remember the cord being cut 😂

Edited to add - if anyone wants their partner to do something special but they don't want to cut the cord, I recommend offering for them to give the first colostrum syringe. We had a difficult labour and it was particularly upsetting for my husband who wasn't off his nut on gas and air like I was lol and I knew that if I managed to breastfeed I'd be doing all the feeds initially, so I thought that might be a special bonding moment for him and baby, and he really cherishes having had that opportunity ❤

Struggling a lot with insomnia at the mo, had quite a few emails from Vinted about orders I’ve made late at night, just checked the “my orders” page - I have 18 bundles of baby and toddler clothes arriving including Christmas stuff I don’t even remember ordering. Jesus bleeping Christ 😂

ohh, I have rekindled my Vinted addiction because of my insomnia! It’s dangerous isn’t it, have even bought myself a nice pair of wellies for autumn/winter walks with the pram 🤣🤣🤣

Vinted is my favourite thing. So many great baby deals. If my husband could just not be there, he’d prefer it. He hates blood and guts 😆 I’m definitely going to have to tell the doctors and nurses that he’s a fainter when we’re in theatre.

Mine wasn’t in the room when she was born (he didn’t want to watch his favourite pub burn down or whatever they say in Bridget Jones, but I ended up with a section anyway 😂) and they asked me and my mum about 4 times if either of us wanted to and it was a resounding no. One of the midwives seemed a bit taken aback but when I explained i pass out at blood tests and the only people below my stomach would be medical professionals she backed off 😂 no regrets btw, tbh I had so much going on in the end I didn’t even think about it.

ETA this just brought back the memory of me checking with my mum (who isn’t really squeamish, and if she wanted to I was fine either way) and her silently shaking her head 😂

Yeah, I get it completely. Generally speaking I'm not a sentimental person and hadn't even considered having kids before him, but once we started talking about TTC I always pictured him cutting the cord. As you say though, there's something way more important to soak up.
I really want my husband to catch the baby when he comes out but he said there’s not a chance he’s looking or going near that end 😂

Yep I am back here again. is it normal to have cervical mucus come out 7 weeks pregnant? normal right - all i have in my head is "no bad cramps, no blood its ok" but sometimes i need just reassurance lol

Yes I had a TON come out around then, I took a photo to show my doctor lol. Was convinced it was my mucus plug but I’m 38 weeks now!

I have my 20 week scan this week. I can feel baby moving around daily but still feel a bit nervous about the abnormalities / development checks. Hoping all is good. My 12 week (when I was 14 weeks) all looked good and healthy and really good image - could see spine and brain etc.
Also finding out what we’re having which will be another big pregnancy milestone.
Current issue is achey legs! Jeez every morning it’s like I’ve run a marathon.

I didn’t use my pregnancy pillow last night and I definitely slept better. Strange that.

I’m 23 weeks today and I can really feel myself starting to physically slow down. Painted a fence at the weekend that should’ve taken an hour and took almost three.

Personally I find a pregnancy pillow most useful in the third trimester especially if you don’t have one that the plumpness can be adjusted (ie not filled with bean bag but an actual pillow) it can be a bit too plump and make joints sore. I’m 29 weeks and have just started using mine for it’s intended purpose (I was using it as a back stop to stop me rolling on to my back!)

I used mine for a few days and found it amazing at first but then uncomfortable so stopped and I’ve slept fine since!

Same here, used it quite a lot between 19-23 weeks and haven't touched it since as it made me too warm & made my legs ache even more. I'm sure I'll go back when my bump is more substantial.

Mine is a two semicircle and fabric connecting them, so it’s not making me too warm, but I think it’s restricting my flailing which in turn it making my muscles quite tense.
