Hi everyone hope you’re all doing well. I’m 34 weeks now and with the worst possible timing, we’re moving house around my due date. Has anyone here moved while very heavily pregnant or with a newborn? I’m dreading it but we need the extra space urgently. Of course I’ll be leaving the hard work to the men though  .
Any tips would be appreciated!

For those who already have a kid(s), do you keep forgetting how far along you are? Because I really do, it’s a good job I’ve got an app that tells me 🤣🤣

Congratulations- that’s exciting!

Might sound obvious but can you leave your hospital bag in the car or at a friend’s along with the baby’s essentials? You don’t want to be unpacking loads of stuff at 40 weeks or worrying about where stuff is! Think about what you would need if you slept over at your parents house or in a hotel and see if you can ring fence that from the rest of your things you’re moving with. Don’t stress about baby’s bedroom, they don’t go in one until 6 months anyway. My baby is 3 months and we are still to convert the office 😂

Thank you! Yes will def have the Hospital bag safe in the car and maybe store the baby stuff at my mother in law’s for the time being. I’ll be nesting and itching to do something though . Maybe a deep clean will bring my Labour on if I go overdue 🤞🤣

Can I just ask about weight gain? Sorry if this is a sensitive topic for anyone (so putting behind a spoiler) xx

Last year I lost over 4 stone through calorie deficit and was on a 3-times weekly weight training programme. I plan to carry on going to the gym (adapting exercise where needed) and carrying on in my eating habits in terms of tracking calories but eating as much as needed to maintain my weight loss and obviously the extra calories needed during 2/3rd trimesters and breastfeeding. I’m only 6 weeks in so far.
Has anyone else been through something similar? Also interested to know how much weight gain people are seeing or how much “extra” you are actually eating? Lots of my friends have said their eating habits/cravings didn’t change much, and so weight gain was just in line with what they’d expect.
My eating habits didn’t really change either. However after delivery was my downfall-I put on 2 stone in the 4th trimester by living on junk food (mostly sugar cravings from sleep deprivation and shock!). I was pre warned by many friends that this was likely to happen (breast feeding or not) and I didn’t listen. This time I will be making sure this doesn’t happen again!!

Does anyone on the thread suffer from migraines? I’ve had migraines since I was 16, and usually find I can manage them pretty well with aspirin, which obviously I now can’t take and I’m just not finding paracetamol is cutting it at all. I work shifts and I’m finding night shifts in particular pretty difficult and that they’re triggering them. I’m wondering what other people have taken to manage migraines during pregnancy/any tips you may have?

Yes! With my first I new how many weeks and days I was at any given moment. And also knew their approximate size! Not this time though 😂

Yep! Last time I knew what size fruit/toy/patisserie product the baby was week by week, this time I can’t even quite remember what week I am 😬🤦🏼‍♀️ I also moisturiser my bump religiously last time, used bump masks and took lots of photos, I think it’s fair to say I haven’t made as much effort this time..

I have migraines and am on propranolol for them. Might be harder to get onto them during your pregnancy. But my GP has kept me on it as it’s safe during pregnancy.

I moved 250 miles with a 4 week old. It was actually ok. I did absolutely nothing except keep the baby alive and happy. I drove up separately to my DH and arrived to a house fully unpacked. Having your hospital bag and baby’s first bits in the car or somewhere nearby is a good idea. It’s v easy to misplace stuff when moving!

I’ll be moving 100 miles away when baby is 4-6 weeks old, how did you manage with hospital/GP appointments? Just everything transferred?
Also on having the house clean and baby ready? I’m a neat freak at the best of times, but like you I’m hoping me and baby can just hop into the car and arrive to everything ready 🙈

I constantly feel like I need to urinate, even minutes after going 🙈 it's the most annoying thing ever, as though my bladder isn't fully emptying no matter how long I try. I'm only 20 weeks so I know it's bound to get worse 😭

UTI? Keep an eye on that’s how mine started

As @storminaDcup said, have you been checked recently for a uti?
No I haven't actually. I did wonder though but it's not painful, if that makes sense? It's usually if I'm lying/sat down too. When I'm up and about the urge usually isn't as bad so I thought maybe I'm lying down or sitting awkward which may be pressing on my bladder 🙈😂

The health visitor sorted moving me over to the new health visitor team so I didn’t have to do anything with that. Then I just registered baby and me at my new doctors.

I was lucky we were moving close to my in-laws so they helped my DH get everything ready. House was spotless as DH is army so we were moving into army accommodation and leaving the house very very clean is part of the moving process. Could you maybe arrange a cleaner to go give it a good once over before you get there? Send DH up just before you?

Hi all, new here 😊 I'm just coming up to 6 weeks with my second baby. I had a fair bit of mild cramping in the first few weeks with my little boy, but this time around I'm having quite a bit more. It's not painful as such, just like the mild annoying pains you get when your period is gonna come the next day! It lasted pretty much all day on and off yesterday and all morning today. I've had no bleeding or anything though.

Just wondering if anyone else has had these cramps more persistently in a second pregnancy? Is that a thing?

I don't think it's so much it being your second pregnancy but more the fact that every single pregnancy is different. I had the opposite and had less cramping with my second and 3rd but my 4th was way worse 😊
