Anyone get sudden pains that come & go in their pelvis 35wks+?
I can’t tell if I’ve just overdone it a bit today or it means something. Last week he was 2/5 engaged and at the scan Monday extremely low but he feels a lot lower now.
Could it just be him getting comfy moving lower? (From others experiences!)
I’m not majorly worried just takes me by surprise every now and then!
Yes, often when I’d get up from my desk it felt overwhelmingly like she was headed south.

Yes I’ve got that! The heaviness and pressure has definitely increased the last few weeks, midwife said he was 3/5 engaged at my apt this week, I’m 38+3 🥲 getting a few more crampy pains occasionally too, but haven’t had any braxton hicks yet!

Yes I hadn’t had any real pressure until this week! Just 1 moment in IKEA where I thought I was about to give birth there & then 😂
I read somewhere that engagement has no insight into when you’ll give birth so I’m now thinking I just have to suffer this for the next 5weeks 😂
No I haven’t had any braxton hicks either! I see everyone talking about them but nothing over here

Any advice on what’s reasonable. My husbands mum and auntie are both expecting us to go visit them within the first few weeks of baby arriving…. One lives 115 miles away and the other 90miles away opposite directions so would need two seperate trips.
We are having a c section so not sure how comfortable I’ll be to make the trips and how it would be with a new born!
There’s no real reason why either couldn’t come to us, both not working so have the time.

I’d definitely not be travelling to visit them and would be asking my husband to have that conversation with them! You will be recovering from a major surgery and will be adjusting to your new life and routine so the least they can do is come to you if they want to see you/baby so badly!

If it were me I would ask if they can come to you instead. C-section or otherwise there’s a host of reasons you’ll probably prefer being close to home in the first few weeks. You have a great big unknown in front of you so I personally wouldn’t commit to anything within the first six weeks of baby arriving. You should be taking it easy, getting to know baby and healing in those weeks…

My view is if people want to see us then they come to ours.
The amount of stops you would have to do on the drive there & back so baby isn’t in the car for too long is enough let alone after a C-section too. Your husband can explain the 3 of you won’t be travelling out of town in the first few months x

Thanks both!! I sometimes have to just check if I’m being reasonable! I’ll have a word with husband and get him to let them know (which he already have) they are very much welcome to visit us here. It’s their choice then isn’t it. Just the thought of all that time in the car and being away from home was getting me in a flap but wasn’t sure if it was doable! Xx

Had a c-section with my first, no way I could have travelled those distances in the first few weeks especially with a newborn to care for as well. They’re very selfish if they expect you to visit them.

Sorry they can absolutely Get to France! It’s not advised for babies to be on car journeys longer than 30 mins, you’ll be recovering from
A section and sleep deprived! If they want to meet baby that badly they’ll come to you. Wow, so entitled 😂 actually outraged on your behalf.

Also feeling the pressure since I hit 34 weeks! Frustrated cos my physio appointment was cancelled today. Doubt I’ll be seen until after birth now

In my opinion, if they want to see baby, they come to you.
In the first 6 weeks, baby isn't supposed to be in the carseat for longer than 30 minutes at a time anyway

@Tifastrife @WhatABore Thanks both…. Didn’t realise about the 30 minutes in car seat… will defiantly be using that!! But absolutely tbh I’m not that fussed if they come here or not but I didn’t want it seem like I was being awkward because it’s his family….. but then again none of mine are expecting us to travel to them.

Absolutely unreasonable. If they want to see you and baby they may just have to wait for you to ve ready to make the trips.
An idea we had was to ask my MIL to do a buffet round at hers so people can come see baba and we give the times we are gonna arrive and leave. That way we don't have every visitor coming to ours and we aren't making multiple trips to others. Would this be feasible?

Oh absolutely not. They’re being outrageous! They can come to you if they would like to see baby. For goodness sake the absolute gall of some people! I’m angry on your behalf.

My mum did this for us when my first was about 10 days old, it worked well! She called it a 'sip and see' so everyone could have a sip of bubbly and see the baby haha. But she only lives 20 minutes away, not over 100 miles away.

So glad to hear that this worked. We just don't want to have no time to ourselves and we don't want to have to entertain 🤦‍♀️ sounds lazy but who knows how we will feel after baba arrives.

People can expect what they want, but it doesn't mean you have any obligation to make it happen! I wouldn't make any plans at all other than that you'll let people know when you're ready for visitors. If people aren't willing to travel to you then they'll just have to wait.

I’ve already said that if people want to see our baby when he arrives, they can come to us (arranged, not unannounced). The only person we’re planning to visit is my Nanna, but that’s because she’s house bound and only a couple of mins down the road from us.
Almost 30 weeks and my back is absolutely in bits, I don’t know that I’ve got another 7 weeks of teaching left in me😩

Just agreeing with what everyone else has said! That's a long way for a newborn and after a c section. I couldn't have done that journey in the first few weeks after vaginal births because of how my stitches healed (or didn't ). It worried me upsetting people before my first arrived and the expectations etc, but tbh I didn't really GAF once the baby was here!!
