Just wondering if anyone has experienced very light spotting in the 3rd trimester? I noticed very very light brown/pink discharge on my liner just then, I’ve felt baby move all morning though. I did some gardening yesterday so not sure if that sort of movement would have irritated anything? I’ll obviously call my midwife if it continues but just want to see if anyone else has experienced it?

ETA I’m 29 weeks
Maybe give triage a call? I’ve had friends who had slight bleeding and everything was fine. I had a few spots on my underwear at around 32 weeks and they said as it was small to monitor and it went away.

I haven't this late but is there anyway it could be a show? I know you'll call your midwife anyway but I just thought maybe it could be your mucus plug!

I've just had some pinkish blood, terrified that this is it for me 😔 is it normal at 7 weeks to bleed? I'm distraught to be honest.
Regarding bleeding and spotting in early pregnancy, I have had it on all 3 pregnancies. My current pregnancy it was quite persistent for the first 9/10 weeks because I had a subchorionic hematoma. I passed small blood clots and everything. Everything worked out fine but I was prepared for a miscarriage at one point, if you are worried don't put it off, ring now. I went to A&E.

Thank you both. I have the midwife coming this week so fingers crossed she can advise. Praying I don't have any more and everything is okay.
if you’re worried, I wouldn’t wait for your midwife as she will only refer you to the early assessment unit anyway as there’s nothing she can do to check this early. As others have said it is a normal thing to experience, but it’s still worth getting checked

I had light spotting when at the start of the week (29 weeks today) rang foetal assessment who told me just to keep an eye on it and felt it was possibly an irritated cervix. Thankfully it went away and I've had nothing since but worth giving them a ring to put your mind at rest x

5 weeks until my due date n I’m officially getting labour anxiety😬 I’m so scared of the pain sometimes I get dizzy and feel like I’ll faint just thinking about it. Can’t I just sneeze him out😂😂. Does anyone have advice on how to cope with these worries?xx

I bled In this pregnancy quite a few times - bright red and like a light flow period. Lasted from around 7 weeks till 10. When I had miscarriages previously it was heavier and l bled for days like that x

Yes I had really bad labour anxiety too. I used a hypnobirthing video on YouTube as meditation regularly and I did stuff like not think about “pain” of contractions more like “discomfort” and remember that contractions are your body doing exactly what it needs to do for you to meet your baby. Practice breathing exercises that help with contractions, understand all the pain relief that you might want to have available to you. The more you plan/prepare the more in control you’re going to feel.

There’s a lot you can do around language for birth which hypnobirthing talks about that aims to flip our perception of childbirth from something scary and painful to something more positive and natural - working from the basis that thanks to TV we are kind of conditioned to see childbirth as a painful and panicky process.

Honestly, I can tell you the most painful bit doesn’t last very long and you forget about it bloody quickly once your bundle is in your arms.

This is the video I used:

I would agree with @WeHadFunRight - whilst hynobirthing doesn’t always work actually in labour (as some babies can’t just be birthed with no intervention) going through the process of reading up on it massively helped me to change my mindset and I went into my first birth much calmer

Yes 100% agree - it’s about keeping you calm really…

What I liked about the hypnobirthing books and meditation I used was that they covered all possible deliveries without bias and didn’t gloss over any or put more importance on one than the other like some birth preparation resources can do. I picked up a hypnobirthing book from my local library, it was this one: but also my friend gave me the positive birth book I think it’s called.

As I knew I was probably going to be induced or have a C-section it was important to me to understand how I could accept any changes in the trajectory of the labour without feeling like I’d failed which the books cover.

You’ve got 5 weeks you can do loads of mental and emotional prep before then.

Thank you both ❤
definitely going to have a look into it, I’m a little bit closed minded when it comes to hypnobirthing for some reason and my mind just goes straight to pain relief ! But I’d be crazy not to practice ways of staying calm and changing my perspective as I know sometimes pain relief doesn’t go to plan.

Yeah I will be honest and say I think the term hypnobirthing doesn’t do it any favours because it sounds hippie dippy but it’s actually rooted in science so i hope that’s reassuring to you. It’s basically trying to teach you about what your body is trying to do (get the baby out!) and how to respond to each phase of labour (rather than freak out).

Ohh we have the same due date!!
You and me both, my plan for the next few weeks is to complete the hypnobirthing course we bought online.
Breathing techniques has also helped hugely with my anxiety so far, they almost take me to a different place mentally with my eyes shut so I hope that happens during labour too 😅
Definitely worth taking 10/15mins out of your morning and evening to sit in silence and just breathe, repeat positive words of encouragement to yourself in your head and remember all the pain relief options available. We can do this 🙏

Due date triplets! 🤣
Agree with you @WeHadFunRight the term hypnobirthing puts me off cause it sounds airy fairy but had a skim of those videos and a friend also recommended me an instagram account called badassmotherbirther that she found helpful so gonna try it all out and do some research over the coming weeks!

Rant alert...
I'm sick of people counting down to my due date now and some people feeling they are allowed to have full knowledge of my pregnancy.
I'm trying not to focus on the actual due date purely because I've seen it mess with friends and families heads that they were overdue. I'm a big fan of baby will come when she is ready and she will come safely, however that may be. But apparently this seems like I'm not excited and like I'm not maternal (I am I just don't want to stress myself out counting down to a date that isn't a guarantee).
Also, why is it that people feel they're allowed to know everything about your pregnancy, like what position baby is in, what birth plan you have, whether you're gonna have an epidural?! Yet no-one seems to give a toss that I have asthma?? And noone asks about my asthma reviews?!
I guess I'm just struggling because I'm quite a private person normally, especially about my health and body, and yet I'm now expected to share every part of my body and life with people.

I can relate to people asking very personal questions that ordinarily you'd never dream of asking. Someone (with no experience) asked me if I'd been doing perennial massage recently and started telling me I really should start... why would I want to talk to anyone about that!? I'm hoping for an elective c section for reasons I won't go into, and I've already decided if anyone asks me about my plan I'll just say we've got a plan we're happy with and that we've considered everything. It's nobody else's business and I refuse to get into an unproductive conversation about something so personal! It feels so vulnerable doesn't it?

Oh my goodness. Why do people think its OK to ask this?! You've hit the nail on the head. I've never felt as vulnerable in my own body and mind
