The emotions of pregnancy seem to have also descended on my dreams 😂 Woke up crying from them they were so full on.
On another note- has anyone got out of jury service when pregnant?
I deferred at my employers request earlier this year but now it’s fallen on my university assignment deadline, I’ll be 16 weeks pregnant when it starts, have bad asthma & will have to travel in London rush hour by buses for 2 hours because of the train strikes on those 2 weeks.

In my dream I also dreamt my placenta started failing because I got pre-eclampsia (currently high risk for it) and I had such a stressful day at work yesterday that I’m really panicking myself that I’ll get covid again and my blood pressure will shoot up. Hormones don’t help I feel like the whole week I’ve been on the verge of tears!

Sorry huge ramblings it’s just stress that isn’t needed. I’m seeing a doctor today about a breast lump (also stressing me 🤦🏼‍♀️) is it worth asking them if a medical exemption is possible? (High risk pre-e and asthma combined?)
Can’t tell if I’m just being dramatic but I really don’t want anything to harm this baby 😞
You're not being dramatic at all, definitely speak to your GP/Midwife they should be able to provide you with some form of medical exemption.
Not the same but my partner was called up last October just after our twins were born & he asked them to defer it due to them being born & he also has PTSD & they happily accepted that, so I can't see why they wouldn't accept your circumstances 😊

Thank you I’ll definitely ask today, it’s so hard as I really wanted to do it but everything combined is stress/worry I’d rather not deal with.
Oh I’m glad he managed to get out of it that would’ve been awful if not, will pluck up the courage to ask the GP today!

Morning everyone, hope everyone is doing ok.
Cannot believe that I started reading these threads at 20 weeks and it’s my due date tomorrow. 😱
If little man is anything like mommy, he won’t come on time. 😂
First baby so I am excited to meet my little one and terrified about what to expect from birth.
Thankfully, after a hiccup with the scan that identified he wasn’t heavy enough, the following scan went well and the hospital admitted that it was likely to be a measuring error on the day. Two weeks of panic for no reason, but on the flip side I was just happy to learn that he was ok.
Is anyone else due in the next couple of days? Xx
Im booked in for a section on Monday 😅

I'm in the south West too, it's so so expensive. I'm going back to work in Jan after I had my little one in April and pretty much ALL of my wages are going to go on childcare. I'm a lecturer so good money as well
It's mad isn't it. On the one hand I want the people looking after my child to be paid appropriately for doing a hard job. But on the other hand if it costs most or all of your salary then it makes the decision really difficult!

I get teary thinking about baby going to nursery and making little baby friends 😭 😭 and he's not even here yet

Thanks so much! I’m finding it really tough the reality is hitting me that I’m going to be a parent and have to co parent and it sometimes hits me that my son won’t have a family unit… it’s very difficult even communicating just now with BD as everything gets spun onto me, he’s not coming to the birth so I don’t know who’s going to be there to support me but I know I’m strong enough to face it I’ve been doing everything alone since 28 weeks I’ve been homeless set up my new home and got everything ready on my own I don’t need him! But thank you it’s very scary but exciting too I hope so you ladies are well 💖
Honestly, since we both joined this thread around the same time you’ve come so far and you’re gonna do amazing ❤ it takes some balls to leave an unhappy relationship whilst pregnant, once you’re settled with your baby you’ll realise you’ve done the right thing by both of you! Best of luck with the birth, the staff will look after you more than any fella ever could have x

I’m not 24 weeks until tomorrow and I don’t know if I’m just being silly as the movements I’ve had over the last week or 2 have never felt that strong yet (anterior placenta ahhh) so it’s sometimes really hard to tell or feel it unless I’m sat/laying around still, it’s like a tap or pulsing feeling, usually in the the same place really low down. Its always seemed to happen around the same times each day I thought so I was waiting up last night because I didn’t think I had felt anything around the usual time eventually fell asleep and then this morning I’ve now slept through the time I would normally feel something :(

Is it too early for the there to be a pattern on movement? is it no concern yet?

I know they say to let them know if you’ve felt nothing by 24 weeks.. but I’m just really hating how weak the movement feels so sometimes I’m just unsure if I’ve felt anything or not and I’m not sure what is normal or if I should be worried yet :(

I also have anterior placenta (high according to the last scan) Having very similar movements to you, little taps/pulses quite low down (bit like a muscle spasm) and it was very faint but started getting more noticeable over the last week. I'm 25 weeks now and only felt him from the outside this week. Until then I was never totally sure if it was movements or gas/digestion.

I had my 25 week midwife appointment yesterday and she showed me how to find his head so I spent most of yesterday evening prodding the poor little thing! She also said to look for a pattern now I've started feeling clearer/more obvious movements. Definitely worth ringing them if you are worried though.

Even now some of the movements are very faint, he was head up facing my left until about last night so his feet are above my left hip and the kicks were quite strong but I think he's moved now (probably from all the prodding!) and they feel a lot more faint again.

Hope you get some reassurance at your next appt.

Thank you both x

maybe I’m just being silly about it, why does it have to be so difficult 😭
hopefully I feel something around lunch time and if not maybe I’ll call because I don’t want to be stressing about it anymore 😔

Not being silly at all! They would rather you ask at every opportunity.

Just had my twenty eight week appointment, bump measuring at 90th percentile and had glucose in urine so got to go back on Wednesday for a diabetes test. Anyone had a similar experience? Bit shocked as I've been very lucky and had a textbook pregnancy until now.

I’m 28 weeks and they’ve not measured my bump yet! Did they say aprox how much baby weighs? Mines 2lbs 10 and that was at 27 + 3

No nothing about baby's weight, they haven't weighed me since twelve weeks I thought they might do that. I wasn't overweight pre pregnancy but definitely had a sweet tooth in pregnancy so blaming myself for this

I think this is the thing though, most nursery workers are on minimum wage or not much above. So it isn't the ones caring for your child that gets the money really 🤷🏻‍♀️ it sucks.

I haven’t been weighed either I feel like midwives don’t care 🤣🤣

You can't cause it, don't worry 😊 it's just something that does or doesn't happen

They don't tend to weigh you until after birth now 😊
As it's not a massive worry really.
Even though I have a high bmi, they only weighed me at the start and afterwards (although that was to get the weight for my injections so they may not at all)

If you have growth scans, they won't do bump measurements 😊

Oh I see okay! I was just worried I haven’t put much on at all so thought they’d be more bothered but kinda glad I won’t be weighed until after now so my midwife can’t have a go at me 😂

The weight you gain isn't an issue 😊
Obviously if you were lacking nutrition, that would be the concern but not the amount of weight you gain 😊

I only got told approximate baby weights at my growth scans at 36 and 39 weeks

And myself got weighed at my booking appointment but not again even after birth 🤷‍♀️
