I’m 39+1 and this time yesterday and today I just feel a bit off!? I’m not sure if it’s just tiredness or what’s going on haha not like an ill feeling just don’t feel right! Can anyone relate?! TMI but had a bout of diarrhoea earlier on too🥴
I don’t want to get your hopes up but you can feel ‘off’ before labour starts, so it might be your body gearing up!

I’m 3 days away from full term. Exhausted and fed up. I really really want things to kick off now soon. I won’t survive going over 😪 not sleeping at all. Sorry for the moan, it’s been a long (although straight forward) 9 months and I just want to meet the little guy
I’m 37 weeks and feel the same as you. Honestly dread nights so much with the heartburn, restless legs, getting up to pee, SPD and pain every time I turn over, painful finger joints that swell up overnight and leg cramps. I’ll sleep better with a newborn and toddler that still wakes up at this rate. Just wanted you to know that you’re not suffering alone! Hopefully these last weeks go quick for us. Could be any day now.

Thanks to all who gave advice about the waiting time for some councilling for my anxiety… spoke to midwife and I now have my first session next Tuesday.
I'm so glad they were able to offer you support sooner, and well done for asking - hopefully having the chance to talk to someone will alleviate some of your anxiety immediately, and further sessions can keep building on that 🙂

Quoting myself but all fine, measurements gotten and all looks good. 14 weeks tomororw! 🤯

As an aside though, finding it really hard when getting “poor” scan pics… I have a higher BMI (weight a v sensitive issue for me, just over the threshold) so I’m trying to process being pregnant and getting bigger with this, but it’s so hard seeing all the little negatives through the process. My scan picture aren’t massively clear (and I don’t carry a huge amount of weight on my stomach) and I’m finding that really hard. Like, I just want a perfect picture you know? I don’t really know what this moan is, just waffling I guess. It’s hard being a woman. 🙁
I feel you, my BMI is 30 (I'm really short) and I was hoping to have lost more weight and didn't expect to fall pregnant as fast as I did (best laid plans!) I got upset at my midwife appointment about my weight but she was really nice. My scan wasn't very clear either and I felt embarrassed about it at the time. It is what it is, can't lose weight now or control it until after the baby is here so trying not to stress and forget about it for now - as should you ❤

If it's any help my BMI is (or was at my booking appt!) 30.01 - just high enough in my county for a GDT. When I told my family this they laughed because before pregnancy I was pretty fit, size 10 on top and 12 in trousers and just have an absolute dump truck a. BMI doesn't really mean a lot especially in pregnancy!

Thank you. This is me too.

Covid and life over the past two/three years hasn’t been easy and my weight reflects that. My midwife is lovely and was very kind, but I do feel judged and worried that I am going to balloon. It’s very hard to juggle in my head, and be accepting of “getting bigger” when everything in my brain screams that it’s wrong and I should be aiming to be getting smaller. I’m scared of it limiting me for things such as birthing pools (which I think is frankly ridiculous and will argue until the cows come home on that one)

I am trying to get back into exercising as I’ve been a massive blob these past few months due to exhaustion but it’s hard. I used to run marathons and now, well, I’m in a very different place now

Sorry, need to call myself a whambulance. Thank you for letting me have a mopey five minutes!

Don't be sorry, I think especially with the hormones we all need to vent! I didn't know weight affected your use of birth pools what's that about I was hoping for a water birth?

I've always been a size 12 and could fluctuate, but my BMI classes me as obese and while I'll admit I do have an extra bit of weight on me, I don't think you'd class me as obese by looking at me. It makes you feel like absolute tit! I've been so lazy too, before getting pregnant I had just completed couch to 5k and starting bridge to 10k. Then pregnancy hit and bam, nothing. I'm trying to ease back into it, but with a focus on long walks and swimming. We have to be kind to ourselves though until babas here!

Whilst weight can affect it, I don't think that's a massive factor.
I have always had really high bmis during pregnancy.
This time not as high as previously.
But my other 2, my bmi was in the 50s.
And my scan pictures were clearer than my friends scan pictures who's bmi is in the 20s.
So please don't blame yourself. I have no idea what other things affect it. 😊

Can anyone confirm or not if waters breaking are as traumatic as that in HOTD 🫡
I also had mine broken for me at 10cm - out of everyone I know who has had babies (and that’s a lot this year 😂) only 2 have had their waters break spontaneously.

People often say that your body will have a 'clear out' before labour so could be the very early stages. My 2 natural labours both started with an upset stomach before my waters broke.
Thanks for replies😊
Oooh I wonder!! Feel a bit better after a sleep but still not 100%, hard to explain😂

I don’t want to get your hopes up but you can feel ‘off’ before labour starts, so it might be your body gearing up!
Eeeeek trying not to get hopes up but secretly hoping it is starting soon!! Fed up isn’t the word🙏🏻😂

I second this! With my last baby I went to bad that evening feeling like I was coming down with a cold, woke up 10 hours later in full blown labour!! Fingers crossed for you x

Lol, no one seems to give a crap when I’m pregnant 🤣 I never got any texts like this and no one asks how I’m doing. People need to balance out the love!

Could be your body readying itself for labour! With baby #2 I had the runs for a few hours before realising I didn't just have the runs....she was born about 8 hrs later!

You can have my parents who keep delighting in telling me all the awful things babies do (poo-namis, lack of sleep, lack of any life except looking after your child) if you want?

I’m already well aware unfortunately 😂😂😂 they can come and sit with me if they want!

if it’s getting you down just remember everything in childhood is a phase!
