If she's on a feeding schedule she might well already be doing formula top ups.
There’s a good few other options besides a bottle to top up. SNS, cup, finger feeding and you can express to top up too.
Very true, I only meant she's not neglectful if her son is struggling to gain weight.
I breastfed my daughter but I’m certainly no expert, I just wonder why she’s pumping so much while he is so young?
I think if maybe he has a poor latch and isn’t getting the hind milk he won’t be getting the calories to make him gain the weight, so possibly she’s pumping to see exactly how much he’s taking at feeds, if her health visitor or gp has put her on this “brutal schedule” The trouble with that is that she’ll be getting peed off if he’s not on her boob, and getting used to the more easy flow of the bottle teat where he doesn't have to work as much for it! Only assuming this it could be a completely different problem why he’s not gaining the weight!
Has she said why they are having trouble with feeding? Has he got a bad latch or a tongue tie?
With my first I desperately didn’t want to give a bottle and after a few weeks discovered my daughter had a tongue tie! Once we got that cut it improved almost immediately. Just makes me wonder as Solomon was going on about how Rex had a posterior tongue tie that didn’t get picked up by all the millions of specialists she saw (which I don’t get?!) so is that Herbies issue...

Pumping isn’t a true indication of supply so I hope she’s not imagining that no milk on the pump equals none in the breast. The mums I’ve dealt with often don’t know this.
Truth. I’ve always had a great supply but after hours of pumping would only have 2oz.
I haven’t even bothered pumping this time around.Also wondering why that matters?! Most likely the comfiest chair in the waiting room when you’ve just given birth. Also a nurse- and see these chairs all the time.Can I just ask why it's funny? It's just a chair in the waiting room regardless of the type of chair?

Yes you're right, I was just irritated by someone saying she was neglectful by struggling breastfeeding ! Also on her stories looks like she's pumping on top of feeding so likely ebm top ups. Good luck to her.
