John is a guest team captain on the latest Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown. It is great fun (though I think Pappy's might be an aquired taste? But I adore them). Matthew Crosby (who is 1/3 of Pappy's) also does the Sunday Radio X show with Ed Gamble (which I also love).

I’d say he knows he can be a bad drunk. He jokes about not being invited to stuff etc. He can’t have spirits in his house.
I think he’s very self aware but also has the darkness as many do. I know Lou gave up drinking because of similar issues so maybe helping him out as previously talked about.

Yeah, i've never really listened to any of the XFM episodes - I only discovered them when they had moved to the Beeb. But I keep meaning to give them a try.

Anyone listened to Elis' new history pod? I'm really enjoying it.

Much as I like Producer Vin and Travis (xfm producers) I much prefer the dynamic when Dave is the producer so maybe do the XFM ones until he leaves!

One I definitely always recommend from xfm days is Tick Tock Robins. It's hilarious and has some excellent one liners from them all. Oh god every time I recommend it to someone it makes me laugh and I want to listen to it again.

Listening to the 8th March episode where they talk about the digital woman in their studio mock up. That’s the only way a woman will get on the podcast!

Eli’s had a whole bit a couple of eps ago about making it more balanced and asking for non male respondents etc…I think the boys are great allys personally.

I’m a Retro Oner and PCD. I’ve met Elis and he’s properly lovely. I got into their Radio X show in about 2015/2016 and it’s lush to see how far they’ve come.

So the drama has mainly related to John's comments on obesity. He's been listening to lot of Maintenance Phase, an excellent podcast that debunks diet myths. The probably is two fold. 1) a lot of the myths are very very deeply entrenched so people aren't willing to let them go. 2) John has only.remembered bits of it and is trying to convey hours worth of backed up info into 1 sentence soundbites. So it comes across as John being a bit dogmatic, which unfortunately he has a tendency to do.

What a vibe to have finally found you all! I don't have FB and I don't think there's a massive twitter following (than say there is for Elis's distant pod podcast guys).

I was introduced to them by my ex full time F round about the time they were leaving XFM. I listened to an episode but wasn't sure about them so gave up. I then gave them anorher shot then got back into them in a BIG way. Some may say the obsession is real.

I absolutely think John is breaking my heart by dating Lou. I mentioned that to the ex months ago. Also thought he and Coco were an odd couple.

Darkness of Robins was amazing, and I saw Hot Shame live which was excellent. He is indeed niche but he is so clever with it.

On the other hand, I absolutely adore Elis too. I will literally watch anything and everything he does and I would quite happily listen to him reading the phone book.

For everyone's sake, don't get me started on my inappropriate crush on Producer Dave.

Without going too FB group about it, I'm so glad I gave them another go because they are a proper comfort for me now. When my ex and I split up I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to listen to them any more (we used a lot of their sayings and mannerisms (the shouting etc)). I don't have anyone else who listens to them so I really worried I'd struggle not having anyone to say "oh how funny was that this week" but I actually found it such a comfort. They kept me company throughout it and I'm grateful for that.

Listened to the ep with Lou today and can’t believe people are treating Elis like the next Katespiracy…Dave literally said he was in Wales. The Facebook group is full of idiots I swear to god.

I was going to post here the same it’s crazy over there. It’s school holidays he’s from Wales I couldn’t work out why they thought that meant something was wrong? They are also saying SDSB is highlights they also have children.
I had to sit on my hands at the ‘Wi-fi in Wales is bad comment’ FFS yeah it’s because we all live in caves
