Hello hammer legends... anyone else feeling a bit deflated that yet again the special guests for the live pod show st the weekend are Lou and Ivo, and Vin randomly.

I was waiting to see who the guests were before I got my tickets and now don't think I'll bother sadly.

The way I RAN here when I saw this news! Absolutely thrilled to see the boys getting double wedge from the BBC. Elis won't have a free second now!

I did wonder if the excessive mentioning of Lou was initially about getting the listeners on board and warming to her as I have this awful feeling Elis is just so busy with other stuff that something has to give. I hope it wouldn't be this but I dunno I just got a vibe about it. Then came Lou being on and then mentioned a lot I put two and two together to get 22.

Haven't listened to MUW. I like Robin but I think too much of them both is a bit much, if that's ok to say. I used to listen to Elis podcast (distant pod) but I found Mike Bubbins became too much for me and took away the enjoyment of Elis and Steffs anecdotes. If Elis had been to Tenerife, Mike had been to Elevenerife. It was too much.

I just like the boys and Dave all together. Don't mess with a more than broadly fine system.

Awaiting better than a podcast to keep you occupied on a flight. Are you off somewhere nice?

Oh nooooo. I hope that’s not the case! Elis is irreplaceable.

I know what you mean re John and Robin - Robin is actually too lovely and doesn’t pull John up on his nonsense like Elis does . I listen to it to fall asleep sometimes .

I’m off to Goa! Can’t wait to escape this miserable winter

An Elis and John thread! Not much to add apart from that I adore them (and Dave too of course)

I only started listening since they've been on 5live and don't use FB so I feel like I have a massive PCD gap in my knowledge of them

I wouldn't bother with the FB page tbh. There's a lot of fluff on there and it's quite smug.

I’ve heard of James Hoffman and knew he was a big deal in the coffee world, but agree - that segment wasn’t very interesting and a bit self-indulgent maybe? But it is nice hearing how excited they get over meeting their faves, and what’s the point in getting famous if you can’t do that?! So maybe that’s a bit too harsh on my side.

That Dave was wild!!! Bet they Dave was glad that wasn’t going out on live radio

PS, with you all on the spoilers (and glad we have confirmed this as the general consensus ahead of TM airing). As a personal achievement I managed avoiding spoilers for the traitors final for two whole weeks after it aired, until I was able to watch it, so it can be done!

John used to mention Robin a lot more in X and even had him in the studio with some other pals when they were going on the lash.
He’s referred to Elis as his longest relationship when I thought that would be robin.
Maybe now they are working together on TMUW it’s changed that dynamic a bit more?
I don’t think him and Lou are together but their friendship seems super nice - both recently ish single. Both sober. She’s obvs helping him with spiritual stuff.
Either way I think it’s doing him lots of good.

Yes, I do wonder if I'm being unfair and harsh as some people do have a stutter, and it's not something that can often be helped.

ETA - I do actually like his comedy, although I'm relatively new to it. He uploaded a clip on insta of a show he did with some live polling and it was so funny and clever! It amazes me how comics can riff that kind of stuff!

He was much better than I’d expected, it was a spur of the moment decision to go on my own and it was great! But I’d never noticed before then. I do prefer him to Lou I think though, he’s a bit more low key!

Basically someone said he was on it too much and that it's the E&J show and not the E,J and D show. Then some people said that was hurtful as Dave and various family members are often in the group (his mum liked a post of mine once!). Then others said its just an opinion. Others still said that's as maybe but maybe phrase it in a less mean way. Rinse and repeat....

Dave! Dave! They said you're on radio too much! (You'll have to imagine your own Elis Dave's family impression )

Yeah, ok, I can imagine the situation. They're very into the idea that Elis, John and Dave are watching the group but...it's very busy and I would imagine (hope) they only glance very occasionally. I know they shout out the group sometimes but it would be as silly to watch your Facebook group as it is to read your Tattle thread.

Made Up Games is supposed to be one of their key features, with them trying to get it on tv etc. so I don’t understand why they didn’t get the boys involved and make a decent jingle? The previous ones have been soo good and this one is pretty shit. Sorry Dave, I love your other ones but I just don’t get this one.

I miss the Radio X / xfm one. It was fab.

I always have a wee bop when I listen to old episodes and it comes on!

Sorry, double posting but had to make a comment on this (mainly before I forget).

I haven't listened to many of the How do you Cope episodes (I've listened to some but found them a bit deep when I was maybe going through some stuff), but I have to say, the clips I see on their social media - they really are such gentle interviewers, in such a lovely way. John especially is just so well spoken and informed on what he asks, and Elis just listens so intently.

They really are just wonderful boys aren't they.

That's it. That's all I had to say.

I think that's also being evidenced in the quality of the guests they are getting as well.

Double posting like a twat but I cannot contain my anger any longer. On a daily basis I see posts in the PCD group asking what time John’s tour show starts/ends. Fuck me. How do these people function on a daily basis?

Anyway John’s one year sobriety post was bloody lovely yesterday wasn’t it.

hello fellow PCDs! I actually muted the main group in 2020 as some of the posts / in fighting / one person in particular was damaging the old MH. Once you notice someone / something they seem to become very dominant and this particular person shares many of my interests it would seem as I’ll see them post similar content in multiple fb groups. I haven’t had to block them yet but came v close.
I love the podcast. I think it’s super interesting how it’s changed over the years. I like the xfm ones but John seems to over use the word ‘probably’ and pronounces it ‘probly’ which sets My teeth on edge I am a laugh honest.
Anyway I found distancing myself from certain groups made life better and more enjoyable and now I just check in every now and then to see what’s going on.
Happy podcast day! Will have a listen shortly.

Haha no it’s fine, I go to loads of things on my own, I’m single so I got fed up of missing out, been on little solo city breaks as well! It just was my first solo comedy. I’m going to see John in October too.

I mute the group every 30 days but I will make sure to check it now! Gofundme is always dodgy and I can’t believe the group is allowed continue as unmonitored as it is.

Had a quick scan through, how can they be so confused by the podcast? How? Imagine if the UK had changed to euro, kgs and kms!
