Agreed! I've not listened to the radio show in a while and so had missed that he had started this journey (or maybe he hadn't mentioned it?)

Yes I agree I have laughed at his posts
I only can think of one she’s a red flag to me I looked at the gofund it had just short of £1000 in it

I generally swing between the two to be fair. When I started listening to them I was more of a John but then Elis and his dulcet tones drew me in... but then often you see John and its like "oh no wait, its definitely John".

Quite frankly I'd have them both, with a side of Producer Dave and Acaster for afters.

If I'm being really greedy I'll have Rob Beckett for a late pudding.

Also going to listen to it in the not too distant future as even talking about it reminds me of how enjoyable it is.

Glad you had a good time! Do you think the format is TV worthy?! That's what they seem to be going for at the moment... would love to seem them on our screens :love:

He wouldn't have lasted very long if he did! Not gonna lie, I feel slightly cheated from having to put up with it on the show last week haha

And I agree with you both. It’s his honesty. So often “celebs” want to tell us about their “journeys” and mental health but it seems a hashtag for an insta post and a quest for likes rather than any genuine acknowledgement of how tricky the human condition and experience is. I love him for it.

Agree, I think the producers should all be admins in there and approve posts if they are going to use it for content. There are some absolutely grim attention seekers in there (of all genders), most of whom I've blocked, but at the same time it is bloody useful if you need to fix your dishwasher/get advice/etc.

It started with John planting basil in a field whilst drinking AF beer. I think it was some sort of theatre performance/one man show. I was chilling with the lovely robin and we discussed how proud we were of him. LR then told me I should be on naked attraction because I have lovely knees, and he was sure the rest of me would be top tier too. (Note: I have horrendous body image issues and will probably discuss this part with my therapist).

The dream went off on a tangent about a biography being released about my family and no one admitting to writing it. I called JR in tears because I was devastated about some of the content. I met him in the local Waitrose to discuss further where he was buying the ingredients for base gravy, and I asked him if I could give him a hug.

We hugged for minutes. Then….it went further. He made me finish whilst in the ice cream section (?!) and then drank brine from a jar of olives.

If you’ve read all this I can only apologise but, like I said, I needed to get it out of my head because it was truly unhinged.

OMG I had the EXACT same dream!
(Only joking - no, dreams are always weird, but I'm sure that dream-John was very happy with the outcome ;)

I don’t think it’s changed on balance, particularly given in recent weeks when he’s not even mentioned that he’s sans cans. I can see it being quite a challenge chatting about booze and pubs every week (or more) when you’re not drinking, so would understand if it does get canned (🥁)

I’ll be watching the live show next week 🍉 and promise to report back to you legends if there’s any juicy goss (particularly on Lou)!

Yeah I've been wondering about TMUW too. Enjoy the live show and do report back.

Radio show tomorrow. Its had a good run recently with some proper laugh out loud moments. I don't recall seeing anything on the group about the phone in topic but I've been BUSY.

I was talking to my financial advisor yesterday and obviously we talked about the end of the tax year. I asked him whether he'd ever thought of getting a tax year calender but he hadn't. Definitely an untapped market! Can wait for mine to arrive.

Congratulations!!!

*Miserable cow face* listening to the podcast now and...a child you don't know in a giddy show off talking to adults mood is fairly irritating after 30 seconds (Although I fully empathise with childcare issues and can only imagine how stressful taking your child to live radio is)
