Maybe I am misreading this but should a supermarket be aligning with a party during an election campaign?
I don’t live too far from carryduff and the Lidl and old shopping centre redevelopment has been a long going issue. There has been a lot of local people looking updates and approaching politicians to find out what’s happening and of course it’s election season so they are all clutching at straws.
Seriously though I know I was joking earlier but I thought there were specific laws around what could and couldn’t be promoted during an election.

on another note: does anyone use the “scan as you shop” yoke in Tesco or Sainsbury?
have they stopped doing spot checks altogether now?!
How are people not stealing LOADS of stuff?!
I’ve always used it but they always checked random people all the time. Haven’t been checked myself or seen anyone checked for months?! Primarily in Tesco.

I went through a phases of being checked midweek when I'd only be picking up a few bits, the girl was telling me the system tries to pickup your routine of shopping and once it finds your norm it minimises the amount of checks they need to do
That is so interesting! I never ever get checked. I’m usually spending £100 approx at a time. The beeper things always goes off for steak and they just wag me on. Bound to be people completely ripping the ass out of stealing!
Completely agree marks and Spencer's is even worse you just do it on your phone and have never been checked or seen anyone else checked

They’ve installed cameras at all our Sainsburys self service checkouts, last week there was a guy in front of me with about £200 worth of shopping he bagged it and away I went to the till and it said his payment was declined , they must be out a fortune on theft, he was still loading the messages into his Range Rover when I went outside

So I'm not 100% about Tesco but in Sainsbury's it's just if you are customer no 12 within a 2 hour timeframe. I kept getting hit for checks and asked why and that's what I was told. Sainsbury's now also have cameras at the self checkout and it's supposed to stop stealing - not sure how cos when I rock up all my shopping has already been packed so technically I could steal stuff on the way round and just use the till to pay.
