Ok so the packaging looks cute, but I wouldn't buy the products. I find them a little too expensive for my liking. "Miracle" mask, 90g for £30... no, thanks :cautious:

Eating cake for breakfast! Niomi’s dictionary words to describe anything :
1) absolutely
2) absolutely gorgeous
3) dream /dreamy
4)absolute dream
5) perfect
6) oh did I mention absolutely perfect ?!!!?!!

On another note : why did she choose skin care business ? She is a YouTuber , what makes her a skin care specialist ?
I get it crafty people turning designers scenario but making skin care formula ? 🥴

now that she is training to be yoga teacher , she can open a yoga studio with a vegan cafe - do the yoga , eat the treats . Her channel , work ,book is about cooking abd recipes .so instead skin care (which she gets 100 free products from 100 brands) she should open a cafe or a restaurant and sell food with her recipes ! Combine that with yoga studio , cool huh ? 🤣okay I am not sure if someone said this here earlier , if yes patent this ! If not , I am patenting this in case Nimbobs decides to pursue this 🤣😂
exactly, i noticed she has an item on the menu in his restaurant and as people have said she has basically forfeited any skin care sponsorships now

Oh man I cannot wait for this launch 😂 I’m taking bets now. Do you guys think it’ll prove the majority wrong and be a smashing success? Or will it magically sell out within 2 days like globy?

Sorry I know everyone's kind of moved on from the tea talk, but I'd never heard of Pukka tea before reading here and now I'm seeing it in grocery stores everywhere. It costs $8.50 here in Canada!? How much is it in the UK?
It's about £2,70-£3,00 for a box of 20 bags.

Don’t think she knew India was the heart of yoga seeing as she was surprised they eat a lot vegan foods in their culture, I mean wow! Maybe she never qualified as no one can be that daft surely?! 😂 Especially ridiculous seeing as the boyfriend of dreams was always there?! They must have never spoke!

Oh and I think her influencer video was following on from something Joey or his family said as they break up and she’s gone and done more ADs on Insta in a month than she did the whole previous year!!!!
Tbh...India is place with a lot of people who eat veg but vegan is a new thing kind of ...mostly it's a trend these days for some.

Looking at the ingredients and the jarring differences between name - Smart skin says science to me - and packaging - fun patterns - I am struggling to see anything smart about smart skin......
Smart Skin to me as a name gives me The Ordinary vibes.
The packaging gives me Cath Kidston vibes.

The two don't mesh well for me anyway.

No mask yet again, she’s really getting on my tits with this now 😒
She is outside though? And it clearly isn't crowded. Are masks required outside in the UK??

I wondered if being together 24/7 over lockdown has caused a rift, plus maybe he or his family might have seen him being included in her vlogs so often, that they could have been concerned for the future and any children. I wouldn't want my child to be paraded around on Youtube for all to watch. I also wondered whether the uploading and videoing still, is because she is being encouraged to do so by her management? If times are tough for us financially then a whole management team with staff to pay must be getting very twitchy in case the bottom falls out of the Influencer market. I do watch her videos and find her sometimes a bit too sugary sweet, also I wonder just how sustainable she really is.

***WATCH*** Niomi's old video 'Huge Life Update and Q&A (March 8 2018)'

Niomi just moved in with Joe.

It's chock full of interesting bits!

She is very chatty and actually open about how much of a perfectionist she is and how she built a 'perfect being' of herself in her videos.

And also even though everything is just wonderful and she doesn't really have any reason to feel down she is feeling 'off' and the reason is likely "hormonal".

I wonder if that's when the cracks in relationship started. It was during Vlogmas 2018 that Joe went straight to the Office after he returned from the India trip.

Also, it's this video that she first mentions that she is working on 'something big' for the future which now we know as Smart Skin.

Niomi also mentions that Joe was born in Australia! And that they initially spoke about moving abroad but it made more sense to stay in Londue since he has a stable job whereas she can work anywhere. It's interesting as she seems gutted that her dream to live in Australia will be postponed for about 2 years. Seems she put him first as far as back then.....
If she has really wanted to go to Australia she could have gone. My step cousin went to Australia and New Zealand for 18 months just as she started dating her now husband. I'm not saying it wouldn't have been hard on them but she chose not to go.

Whilst I think Joe has had a privileged life I can imagine that he might feel he needs to prove himself to his colleagues that he didn't get his job because of who his father is.

Going to Australia for an extended period might not have felt like a an option to Joe. The move to India I think would have been good for both of their careers. Niomi's content seems to be rich white girl goes to the most expensive places in London for vegan food and then does.some yoga. In India she could have learnt the history of yoga and been trained to teach it. India would have really made her content different and unusual. She could have also taken a number of trips holidays to Australia as she was that much closer.

In her insta stories when she says 'made in the UK' she closes her eyes. You can declare something as made in the UK if it's basically just boxed up in the country, so I wonder if the actual product comes from somewhere else?

£24 for some jelly?! I'm out of touch!

Edit: the website says nothing about being made in the UK and the products still use palm oil. Because profit...
This is shameless.

She should be transparent about the production steps and not green/sustainable wash yet another box full of run of the mill cheap drugstore range. Using plants in her skincare doesn't magically make the range environmentally friendly. If she had no such claim I wouldn't hold it against her but every other word from her ad spitting mouth is either sustainable, vegan or organic. That is very vague. Have some integrity Niomi ffs...

I also really don’t get these posts where people pretend there isn’t a middle ground between “depressed” and “deliriously happy”, or acknowledging that you can navigate that space in a somewhat more honest way and that doesn’t mean inviting people into your private thoughts and difficult moments. (Even though their whole thing is monetizing their private lives).
This 🙌

Is it me or is the photography for the skincare range 'off'? The first post of the skincare range on the Smart Skin insta page is half in and out of focus ( this may have been intentional) - but the image is off center/slightly wonky & there is some random white thing in The RHS? It seems very very amateur to me - which of course is fine - but NOT when charging non-amateur prices for it...
Lol I was trying to wipe the right side of my screen because I thought something was on it!

Both the photography and graphics are VERY amateur.

I was about to say the same thing. I buy my skincare based on SCIENCE. I read scientific studies and do my own research. You don't need a product with a million ingredients. Literally, all you need is retinol, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C. Why would I buy her Vitamin C product full of random ingredients when I can buy the gold standard in Vitamin C (SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic) that is backed by scientific research?
Yes! C E Ferulic is the best.

There’s a really good article on HA on the Harper’s Bazaar website, basically looking at whether it’s really a magic ingredient. https://www.harpersbazaar.com/beauty/skin-care/a31116680/are-you-misusing-hyaluronic-acid/ someone shared it in the Sali Hughes thread a few months ago. Anyway, if you like skincare stuff you’ll probably enjoy reading.

OMG just checked her out to see the difference, £62 for a mask....!!?!?! These influencers are losing the plot.
Yeah, there has been so much feedback saying it’s way too expensive. But it really feels like her passion project whereas Smart Skin feels like just another product Niomi can slap her name onto and half heartedly act like she is really invested in it
