Was the caravan park near to the bench do we know? Otherwise I’m not sure how it could have seen everything. How devastating that there was a camera that could have seen everything if it had been working.

Not necessarily - they wouldn’t get one if they’d no reason to suspect the missing person has been on that property and if the police are saying they believe she fell into the water then it’s unrealistic they’ve sought a warrant to search elsewhereAfter 8 days though surely a warrant has been issued and used if they aren't complaint.
I've got a garmin, it tracks my progress swimming etc up to a week storage but ive never left it fully immersed. If you turn it off though its extinct. No I have a Garmin - I guess it would also depend on whether she had automatic syncing set up or she imported her workouts to Strava manually.
Maybe lay out all the main theories of what happened so people know where the Tattle crime squad are up to with the investigationSo if we're not doing a wiki - good idea actually because the thread's moving so fast - does whoever starts the next thread want to add the link above because it is a good round up.
At the risk of starting world war 3, do we want to add any advice about posting, or do we want to go round and round on the next thread too?![]()
Her middle name is in it too. I’m not going to share though, I don’t think it’s appropriate and I’m not even sure it’s within tattle rules xI couldn't find her profile just then?
It’s not though is it, Nicola's family could have an answer either way.Perhaps that's for the best![]()
Unfortunately it's not about holding the charge, it's about water ingress which will render it useless. Some fitbits can hold a charge for 5 days bodies can surface before that even in cold water.
I hope that someone in the family has been able to disable it or set it to private. Her middle name is in it too. I’m not going to share though, I don’t think it’s appropriate and I’m not even sure it’s within tattle rules x
The family need to get her Facebook page taken down.Because her own profile was set to public, people have been commenting on her photos and posts, even suspicions about her partner. It’s unbelievable.
Just fields between so I guess depends on height of camera, line of sight etc or maybe it can see the only path to and from the bench. Was the caravan park near to the bench then do we know? Otherwise I’m not sure how it could have seen everything.
One of them was fairly near. But regardless, Nikki was not at the bench when the witness found the dog, so any CCTV could be useful. Was the caravan park near to the bench then do we know? Otherwise I’m not sure how it could have seen everything.
The police would have her phone wouldn’t they? I bet they’re reluctant to disable her profile or set it to private because the armchair detectives wouldn’t be convinced Nicola didn’t do itI hope that someone in the family has been able to disable it or set it to private.
It’s quite hard to do sadly. A relative of mine died and no-one could get into their account and next birthday there were people writing happy birthday to them as it comes up with those automatic notifications![]()
You’d hope with her phone they’d just be able to get in to her fb, but she likely has face or fingerprint id on the phoneI hope that someone in the family has been able to disable it or set it to private.

Ditto that. I was just thinking here we all are discussing and speculating and that poor woman is most likely laying on the river bed.I was hoping they'd find something today so the family and friends can finally have closure and the public can leave them alone but nothing...
This poor woman must be the unluckiest person in the world to have all the odds line up to die in a freak accident and then not even be found with all the resources thrown at it for 8 days in what is a relatively straightforward river. No clothing, no dog ball, no clues, no signs... for all intents and purposes she literally did go for a walk and vanish into thin air.
It's not a slow running body of water and that has been reported repeatedly. It's got a very fast undercurrent. She's probably in the sea by now so sadly it may well be weeks before she's found. This is the thing... if she was going to be found .. after seemingly pinpointing her descent into the water at a specific time... why hasn't she still been found in a slow running body of water in a location they've got experts searching... where is she ??? Why hasn't she been found. ???
Forensic analysts can get into locked phones. They'd almost be out of a job if they couldn't.You’d hope with her phone they’d just be able to get in to her fb, but she likely has face or fingerprint id on the phone![]()
I would think the police probably have her phone, and have probably told the family not to access her facebook account and make changes to settings. You’d hope with her phone they’d just be able to get in to her fb, but she likely has face or fingerprint id on the phone![]()
No but Nicola’s phone, the harness and Willow were near to the bench. So either Nicola was nearby, or someone else put them there, it’s why I asked about how near that camera would’ve been to the bench. One of them was fairly near. But regardless, Nikki was not at the bench when the witness found the dog, so any CCTV could be useful.
The police can bypass that security to get into her phone. I know this from a relative who died suddenly in suspicious circumstances and they were able to unlock the phone to check her last calls, messages, location etc. It wouldn’t be the police’s responsibility to take her Facebook down. You’d hope with her phone they’d just be able to get in to her fb, but she likely has face or fingerprint id on the phone![]()
